Today I went & was HIGHLY disappointed. The panini was basically empty & flat, to the point where one half of the sandwich didn't even have chicken. The flavor was still good which is why I am giving 3 stars but it was basically like eating bread with a sprinkle of chicken/tomato & cheese.
They gained an additional star for using bocconcini as the melting cheese in the spicy chicken. Not so spicy BTW, but tasty. New: I just ordered the same sandwich & I vomited half way into it. The chicken doesn't smell fresh. I'm not happy.
I make the trip to Joe Panini from Ottawa, at least once a year to get their famous grilled spicy chicken panini. With a side of a can of Brio & a brownie, you cant go wrong.
Amazing little spot for delicious food.
Tried the Poulet grill spicy panini & the turkey panini. I wouldn't say it's the best but it's definitely worth a shot.
Part of mtl heritage! Best pannini after hours! Go for the spicy chicken !
Sad times for Joes Panini.
I used to come here once a week for a solid 4 years during university. This was 10 years ago. I came back yesterday for the first time since to grab a Panini & experience some nostalgia.
The place hasn't changed visually, but it has become quite unkept & unloved. This also shows in the paninis. My go-to was a spicy chicken & now they barely put any chicken, the bread has changed, & the place feels run down. I'm sad since this place had potential if they kept up with the modern expectations of quick & cheap dining.
Now I read reviews that the owner is being condescending to employees. This will be the last time I visit Joes, sad.
