A friend & I hadn't seen each other for a few years & we met at this restaurant for brunch. The waitress was very enthusiastic. Although we didn't want to be disturbed from time to time, we still responded to her every time. We stayed in there for four hours, & we kept ordering food & drinks. The restaurant was not full, & there were still empty seats on a Wednesday morning. It seemed that they thought we were sitting too long & often asked if Liao needed anything. The last breakfast cost more than $50, which seemed a bit too much. As for the dishes, it was not as delicious as expected. The main course included fried eggs. If it was changed to Irish eggs, it would cost eight dollars. It felt like I saved a dollar, but after careful consideration, the boss saved two eggs.

By far the best brunch in Montreal. The oeuf & boeuf was amazing! Make sure you get there early because there will probably be a line. Luckily, a waitress was nice & brought everyone tea while we were waiting.
5 étoiles bien méritées !!!

Le + : c'est un café baby frendly avec des chaises pour bébé, ou pour coquille.. & une table à langer. Une belle pensée pour faciliter nos sorties familiales.
Ce n'est pas la première fois qu'on brunch chez Janine, mais c'est toujours une expérience agréable. Le repas est super délicieux & le service est excellent. Cette fois-co on y est allé pour souligner mon anniversaire, & j'ai reçu un joli compliment pour ma fête. J'ai commandé un croissant, & la sauve béchamel était juste wow! On va y retourner encore sans doute.

Cute, food not spectacular. Nothing different that other nice cafes that you don't have to wait an hour to get in.
Recomend to go early to avoid waiting.
Never got disappointed by Janine nor the sister branch Régine Café, I have been a loyal customer for years & fav dish is Champi, simply love mushrooms! Also I adore the bowl of matcha latte, it's always so warming in winter. I tried all items on their menu & they also offer chef's new inspiration dish or seasonal dishes (ex: sugar shack dish at spring), really good! Avoid going in the weekend because of crazy lineups (yes I have done lineups too & they sometimes would serve us a bit of snacks while we are waiting). The interior decor is really chic & the ambiance is really great, not to mention the outstanding good service. They always start by serving us the juice of the day for free (little cup), & it puts me in good mood right away. Highly recommended brunch restaurant :)
AN ACTUAL GEM! We were handed hot tea while waiting in line & then a complimentary wellness shot once seated down. Amazing service & ambiance & the food was amazing. We got the Croque Monsieur & the Latkes. Deliciousn
I debated writing this review because I want to gatekeep this place - but Janine Cafe-Brunch deserves the recognition.

Fantastic place with unique & delicious flavors! The wait in line was about half an hour, but the free black tea they served to people waiting made it much more enjoyable, especially on a snowy day. A thoughtful touch that added to the experience!
Première expérience dans ce café ,j'ai adoré le service, le décor, tout y est pour passer un bon moment. J'ai choisi au menu le Gros Cochon qui est un plat consistant.J' ai aussi aimé l'oeuf écossais ,qui est un oeuf mollet dans un chorizo.La fin de semaine il n'y a pas de réservation mais il faut s'y rendre un peu avant l'ouverture à 9:00 hres car la file peut être longue parfois ,mais l'attente vaut vraiment le détour.
If you are looking for a quality place to brunch in Montreal, this is it. It was worth the 30 minute wait time in the line outside. The staff was attentive & brought guests who were waiting in line hot tea. The food was excellent. I did not dislike any of the items we ordered. It was all freshly made. The only negative was that the restaurant was so full sometimes it took our waitress a bit of time to get back to us for mimosa refills & food orders. Out of the 4 brunch spots I tried, this was my favorite.
Un de mes endroits préférés pour le brunch à Montréal. C'est sûr que durant les fins de semaine, il y a une file, mais en semaine, on a été chanceux : aucune attente !
Je suis allée plusieurs fois & j'aime la constance dans la qualité de la nourriture & du service. Triste qu'il y ait toujours une file, mais ils donnent parfois du thé & c'est une petite attention que j'apprécie.
Superbe endroit pour un brunch copieux & délicieux! Nous avons eu une expérience en soi. Petit rituel d'y aller 1-2 fois par année avec mon conjoint :)
