Service was excellent & attentive (we dined as a group on a weekday). The restaurant itself is eclectic in both decor & food & I highly recommend the experience.

Went back to this beautiful brunch place once again. Love their petit plateau, the banana butter & mascarpone cream are the best. Both the brunch platters Croque Madame & Oeuf & Boef were exceptional. We also took the roasted sweet potato with tzatziki sauce which was too good.
Un resto déjeuner plus élégant qu'on en a l'habitude. La cuisine est raffinée mais les prix restent égale à la compétition. Les portions sont généreuses. L'endroit est calme & bien décoré. J'ai pris le'Doré aux pommes' qui, malgré son look, est assez léger. Une portions suffisante d'extra chocolat qui semble être fait maison pour 3$ d'extra. Ma copine a pris l'assiette'Champi' qui, évidemment, avait beaucoup de champignons mais à un point où ça devient lourd. Le cappuccino est un peu plus cher que la moyenne mais bon. Point bonus pour le petit smoothie offert à l'arrivé. Une endroit à essayer & même à retourner.
Always a great brunch time at Janine! I had the chicken waffle sandwich, it was amazing with a bacon marmalade. I have been previously & shared the Croque Madame & Champi Toast. Both great choices. The pricing is also quite fair for these plates. You come out quite full. The service is always good with the little juice shot at the beginning. Only downside is the wait outside especially in winter. It is worth it though.

Very clean, well set-up- we had 5 at a corner window table. Service was top- notch. The menu is in both French & English & the food was absolutely scrumptious. ❤?❤?
Luckily wait in line was about 20 minutes on a Saturday morning. Food & service were great. Definitely recommend it if you want something different from other brunch places.
One of the best breakfasts I have ever eaten. Certainly in my top 3 at the time of writing. Amazing croissants & incredible jam. I cannot recommend this spot strongly enough.
Visited Chez Janine on a Saturday early morning, basically right when they opened, & was lucky enough to walk in with no line. I was surprised by how big the place is! The first thing they did when we sat down was offer us a taste of their juice of the day 😍such a unique & special touch.
We honestly loved EVERYTHING we ordered. I wish I could've tried the whole menu because everything looked incredible. Hands down, one of the best brunch spots in Montreal.
That said, I wouldn't wait in line for an hour to eat here, but to be fair, I wouldn't wait an hour anywhere 🤣. Still, 10/10 recommend if you have the patience & love good brunch food!
Une très belle expérience ! Le décor est magnifique. 😍 Le service super & chaque plat était un vrai délice. Pour vrai une très belle découverte. On est arrivées avant l'ouverture alors on a pas attendu pour entrer mais je comprends clairement pourquoi l'endroit est reputé.
Very overrated! Went for brunch & tried the pain de courgettes, l'oeuf écossais, & the oeuf & boeuf. Unfortunately, the dishes were exaggerated without being tasty. The oeuf & boeuf, in particular, had way too much bread. On the bright side, the coffee was good.
Un super brunch chez Janine ! Le personnel est très gentil & attentionné. Certes, il faut parfois patienter un peu, mais ça en vaut largement la peine. Les plats sont copieux & délicieux, parfaits pour bien commencer la journée. L'ambiance est charmante, avec une touche un peu ancienne mais très cosy, dans un style anglais qui rend le tout encore plus agréable. Une belle adresse pour un brunch gourmand & réconfortant ! Je recommande la plat : oeuf & boeuf
This is one of the best brunch places in the city. The quality is consistent & the service is amazing. Locals love it & tourists love it & this is why you have to arrive a bit earlier than when you plan to eat because there's usually a line on the weekends! The line is worth every minute.
