C'était bien sans plus. Je m'attendais à plus. Maybe mes attentes étaient trop élevées d'où ma'déception'. Je mets entre guillemets car le mot est un peu fort. Comprenons nous bien c'était super bon mais malheureusement la sauce au sucre à la crème était granuleux & la présentation était moyenne. Faut savoir que j'ai pris le pain sans gluten alors ça enlève un peu de charme. Overalll je suis satisfaite mais c'était pas WOW.
Quand j'ai reçu mon plat au début j'étais un peut déçu de la consistance mais quand la supérieur m'a demander si tout allais bien j'ai exprimé mon ressenti on a re fait mon assiette & Cetais juste parfait je partais d'une étoile à la base mais je repart avec un 5 étoile dans tout top du top merci encore !
Des fois faut juste leurs exprimé notre ressenti & ils s'occupent du reste !
The decor is beautiful & authentic, with a refined, upscale feel.
The host was not welcoming. We asked for a cozy table, but he insisted it was reserved for parties of four. He seated us next to a cold window instead. The preferred table, along with several other four-person tables, stayed empty for a long time before couples were eventually seated there. It was clear the tables had not been reserved, which left a poor impression.
The atmosphere was very noisy. A touch of light, soothing music could have improved the experience.
The waitress was knowledgeable & attentive.
Prices are on the higher end, which is expected for this type of restaurant.
The food was good but disappointing. Flavors were not well balanced & did not come together as expected.
I've come a few times with friends for brunch. The food is amazing & fresh. The service is really great & the staff are friendly. You do however have to be prepared to wait a bit in line as this is a popular spot & they don't offer text notification service so you'll have to stand outside for anywhere from 30min to 1 hr. The vegetarian options are also great but fairly limited.
L'accueil était très chaleureux, le service un des meilleurs. J'ai commandé Champi comme plat principal (pain, champignons sautés à la creme & à la sauge, 2 oeufs pochés, patates maison (une sorte de purée), coulis de poivrons) avec un cappuccino. C'était consistant, mais je trouve que les champignons ont dominé tout le repas (& moi, j'aime manger des champignons). Je propose de réduire la quantité pour un quart & potentiellement ajouter une boule de patates de plus pour équilibrer le goût.
Le cappuccino était très bon.

Very good food, nice setting. I think it's a bit on the expensive side(I was invited so I don't know). But the quality of the food is top, so worth the extra. Very good service. Easier to get a seat on weekdays, we saw a lineup on weekends
I'd never heard of Café Janine before but I could see myself becoming a regular. The food was outstanding, the service is impeccable & the ambience was a pleasant kind of elevated conviviality; a relaxed refinement that tied everything together.
The lineup is no joke for a weekend brunch, so come prepared to wait outside for 30 minutes or more. Out party really appreciated the complementary servings of tea & small nibbles served by staff along the wait line. It's a small, classy bit of gratitude that made the wait much more tolerable.
Once we were inside, we immediately relaxed & were treated very well by the friendly, professional staff. Service was quick & helpful, with good suggestions when we requested tnem.
Every morsel was delicious, & we especially liked the juice tastings: fresh & delicious samples of various juices arranged in a way that makes it easy to share. The chicken sandwich was excellent with a generous serving & good seasonings. The Scotch eggs were perfect, with a great balance of flavours & textures. We tried the carrot cake as a treat, & it was wonderfully moist & light, with great bounce.
I expected a higher bill at the end, & I was pleasantly surprised. Overall, it's good value for an excellent dining experience. A must-try!

Nous avons tout aimée ^_^ nous avons essayez pour la première fois du foufou & cetais délicieux ^_^ nous avons également commandé du Griot aussi excellent, ^_^ nous en avons gardé pour ce matin pour notre déjeuner ^_^
As a picky eater, I booked a table for today's food with my family. I can only describe today's food like this: delicious, very delicious 😋 I will come again
Cute place, high hopes when I walked in.
I tried the latkes, oeuf & boeuf, scotch egg & grilled cheese. Latkes were decent, light & tasty. Scotch egg was decent too, egg center perfect. But the oeuf & boeuf was heavy, lots of bread & not too much flavor. The grilled cheese was a heavy soupy mess. Just a huge portion of unappealing food. Coffee wasn't great either, but it smelled great. Just disappointed & now my stomach hurts honestly.
You have to go super early & wait in line, first come, first served basis, the wait is worth it & their food is delicious, it was a new discovery the bechamel sauce of spinachs, their desserts, drinks, juices, very fresh, super friendly & welcoming staff, definitely a good spot to have brunch in verdun, I will go back for sure! Recommended.
Très belle déco...1 seule serveuse Très gentille mais débordée...j'ai commandé un café qui n'est jamais arrivé mais c'était facile à comprendre. Pour la nourriture j'ai commandé'le champi'...des toasts avec des champignons en sauce...malheureusement fade. Ma chaise le bras décollait à chaque fois que je bougeait, j'ai eu l'impression de payer que pour le décor.
