Jack Astor's is described across reviews as a lively sports bar style restaurant where big screens, warm lighting, and a friendly, attentive staff create a welcoming vibe for groups and casual dinners. The food earns praise for generous portions and solid flavors, with burgers, nachos, pasta, chicken dishes, garlic bread, and desserts among the frequent highlights, and cocktails and nonalcoholic drinks also getting good notes. Service is repeatedly singled out as fast, courteous, and personable, though a few visits note slower moments, occasional lapses in cleanliness, or times when the noise and crowds made conversation difficult. Overall the consensus points to a dependable, fun spot for a night out or game day, with most patrons planning to return even if a visit has a hiccup.
The food was so delicious, loved that the drinks had a great amount of liquor, the ambiance, nice hours (most surrounding locations close earlier on the weekends), & I will be returning!
The staff was super friendly but the food was not that great. It's a sports bar, you don't expect high end culinary food, but this was way lower than I expected. Other sport bars offer much better food.

Came here an hour before closing time & the food was still as fresh! The service was super friendly & our waitress helped us make the best choice! There are options for everyone! Everything we had was tasty & enjoyable, I'd go again!
Cuisine excellente, ambiance conviviale.

Food was excellent The server was so rude & did not have any manner. My friend, visiting Montreal, barely speaks French was talking to her in English & the waitress (Maude) was replying in French!! After I paid my part of the bill & handed her back the machine, Maude threw the receipt on the table in a very diresprctful way & left, we were all shocked by her behaviour. We guessed that she didn't like the tip I left, but this doesn't give her the right (as per her job etiquette) to behave this way! This individual behavior affects the image of the place she works in & the service level in Montreal in general.
Jack Astor's Bar & Grill in Laval offers a vibrant dining experience with a diverse menu. The atmosphere is lively, creating a welcoming vibe for patrons. While the food is generally satisfying, the service could be more consistent. The extensive drink selection adds to the appeal, making it a suitable spot for casual gatherings.
Barmaid to busy talking to customers not enough service waited for drinks for like 20 min during a hockey game she should serve her customers before talking to her regular customers for like 30 min the bar was empty still a hard time to get a drink or service very disappointing!!!
A good restaurant when traveling. Relatively close to hotel I was staying at. Good for alone dining or with a group. Public parking across the street. Good food selection & service was good.
