The service was great, & the experience felt very different from the usual Indian restaurants in the GTA. Portion sizes are a bit small, though.
Visited India Rosa in Griffintown recently. The ambiance is stunning & the vibe is very high-energy.
Food: I highly recommend the Paneer Stuffed Grilled Mushrooms. They were incredibly delicious & the chutney was perfectly'chutpatti' (tangy/spicy). The only downside was the portion-only 3 pieces for the price, which felt a bit small, though the quality was excellent.
A note on the decor: As an Indian, I had mixed feelings about the elephant painting at the entrance. While it's clearly meant to be modern &'boho,' seeing an elephant in traditional royal attire (reminiscent of Ganpati) holding a cocktail felt a bit jarring to me, especially at the entrance where we usually place sacred symbols. It's a beautiful piece of art, but it might feel a bit sensitive to those who grew up with traditional values.
I've attached a photo of the painting I mentioned-it's very well-painted, but the imagery was a bit unexpected for me.
Overall, a great spot for drinks & fusion flavors!
This is possibly the worst indian food I have ever had. The chicken was obviously not cooked in the sauce. Sauces were lacking flavour. Noisy - more emphasis on the cocktails & bar.
We have the loveliest time for brnch last Saturday. We love the Indian spin on breakfast favorites such as butter chicken benedict. We cannot wait to come back for dinner.
Food is good & nice decor. It's a bit odd to call the appetisers/starters'tapas' in an Indian restaurant & it's a shame there was a chicken breast option for the chicken dishes - it's all thigh which was disappointing.
Great place overall! The Indian food is decent, though not very authentic - it leans more toward the fancy, modern side. It's a good spot for people trying Indian food for the first time, but those looking for traditional flavors might find it a bit mild.
The service was very good. We liked the food in general. Some did not have the real full flavor of a typical indian restaurant, but closed to. The place is noisy.
Best Indian in Montreal (coming from an Indian). Beautiful trendy atmosphere & live DJ make it a lively atmosphere.
Delicious & authentic Indian cuisine in a cozy setting. The butter chicken & garlic naan were standout dishes. Highly recommend!
Chic but less spicy (or authentic) than other traditional Indian restaurants.
.... Adjusted to north american tastes I presume.
It's a great place for dining: ambiance, service, good location (hard to find parking lot though),
Washrooms are quite clean & you may ignore those signs of wear.
Amazing food. Always reluctant going to fusion / Indian restaurants, but this was perfect for Brunch. Everyone at the table left feeling full. Portion sizes, prices, & meals were all great.
I will rate this restaurant 4.5 out of 5, -0.5 because it's a bit too expensive for Indian food but the food here is good. The brunch is also really exquisite which is a modern twist to Indian food. I had the fried naan with chickpeas for brunch. For dinner, I got the garlic naan with butter chicken- the butter chicken is really creamy & delicious. Also got mango lassi which tastes good as well. I recommend this restaurant.
India Rosa is an absolute gem when it comes to Indian fusion cuisine! From the moment you walk in, the warm & vibrant atmosphere sets the tone for a memorable dining experience. The decor is chic yet inviting-perfect for a date night or a casual dinner with friends.
The food is a perfect balance of traditional Indian flavors with a modern twist. Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor, beautifully presented, & cooked to perfection. On top of that, the complimentary food service was a lovely touch-a rare gesture that made us feel truly welcomed & appreciated.
Whether you're a fan of Indian food or just looking to try something new, India Rosa delivers a five-star experience from start to finish. Can't wait to go back!
Absolutely loved India Rosa!
The food was incredible-such a perfect mix of Indian flavors in a healthy way & French elegance, everything was so well put together. We have ordered veggie biryani which was so unique, yummy, panjir the indian crumble thats made with yogurt & healthy fruits & gooseberries with tasted like coconut payasam damnn it was the best dish we have ever had. The cocktails were absolute blast & super creative too, they have crafted exclusively i fan say. Beautiful vibe, great service. Can't wait to go back!
Great food & ambiance. The staff is so friendly. The food is a great balance of Indian fusion & the drinks are delicious .
Went for 8:30pm dinner with friends. Picture a nightclub that serves fabulous contemporary Indian dishes. Place was hopping. DJ'd music was dominant but not too loud. Great experience.
Love this restaurant, it's Indian food taken to another level. The mushroom cheese appetizer delicious 😋 the shrimp Biryani & potato with cauliflower all yummy. Great service 🤠😁
Great place to share dishes with friends (especially those that know their Indian food!)
Visited India Rosa for the first time, thanks to friends who recommended it, & it was a great experience. The ambiance was stylish yet cozy, blending Indian flavors with a modern twist.
First time trying Indian food! I was always hesitant to try it, but I absolutely loved it.
