We went there with a group of friends & they accommodated few extra people that showed up as part of our group. The set up was quick & easy. We celebrated our sons birthday & they waitress was very friendly & warming to the occasion. The food & drinks were great. Food was brunch with a slight touch of Indian cusine. Recommended to anyone looking to try this fusion brunch.
I love the India Rosa in the plateau, so we decided to come to the one in Griffintown for a change. The restaurant is beautiful, & the food was delicious. However, when we received our bills, we were shocked to see that we were charged $6 to the table for regular water. We asked the waitress & she said its because the tap water isn't drinkable due to the construction at the moment. We all thought it was ridiculous. I'm sorry, but we were 4 people with each a bill of $75+. The least they could do is cover the water, I have NEVER seen this in a restaurant before. The waitress didnt even warn us, if we would of known we had to pay for water, we would have taken sparkling water instead... Very cheap of this restaurant. Will definitely only being going back to the one in the Plateau.
This is a beautiful dining spot in the heart of Griffintown. While the food is fairly average for Indian food, the cocktails & ambience more than make up for it. We ordered the tiki drinks (I prefer the guru over the sweeter & more tropical bhangra), which were both delicious (like mango juice) & highly instagrammable. We also ordered the beautiful pink Pisco Sour. For lunch we ordered the chicken biryani (decent) & lamb vindaloo (not very spicy).ocll
My friends & I were very much looking forward to experiencing everything Indiarosa had to offer, & after having paid well over 250-300$, we left utterly disappointed! While the food was great, the service was absolutely horrendous. We waited for everything.. drinks took 30 minutes, the appetizers another 30 min, but wait the kicker was the main meal( which we ordered at the same time as our drinks & appetizers at 7:15), only arrived at 10:30. I have never had to wait or ask the waiter when my food will come in any restaurants I've been to. I would have understood if the place was busy, but it wasn't at all. They completely forgot our meal! We were the last ones to leave.the lack of communication between the kitchen & your waiting staff was very poor & could benefit with additional training. They did offer to give us free desserts- for what? For waiting 3 hours for our main meal?! No thanks! He was lucky we even gave him some tips. We wanted to come back with a larger group when we first entered the space, but left frustrated, annoyed, & disappointed. I would love to speak to a manager about my experience.
Food was great! We had the tasting menu & it was delicious & with generous portions. Drinks looked fabulous & our server was fantastic!
Food was ok, price was ok, drinks were tasty but pricey. Parking was impossible & valet parking is 30$!!!!
Downtown Montreal has been due for a great Indian restaurant for ages (since Curry House on Bishop closed ages ago) & you deliver. Very minor imperfections: drink order took far too long to place & receive & the samosas were very disappointing (pasty & just not very good). Everything else, from the tapas to the biryani to the cod to the aloo gobi & tarka dhal were outstanding. Carnivores & vegetarians & even those of us with dairy allergies were over the moon in your fabulous restaurant. The server was polite & competent & very pleasant. The ambiance was so chill & trendy & simply perfect. Will recommend & return.
Great food & interior, but awful service. I really liked the food & concept of an Indian fusion restaurant. Our waitress took 30 minutes take our order (even for drinks), & didn't bring napkins & salt after we had requested them. Extremely slow service & not that many people there. She got upset after I left a low tip. For a higher end brunch I'd expect much better service.
Food is fantastic. Share plates & full course menu. Great non alcoholic drinks options fory wife. Service could improve, long delays & errors on our bill
Perfect for a girls night out. I don't drink, so food quality is important for me & it did not disappoint. I judge Indian restaurants by their naan & this was goooood. Everything was delicious. Service was attentive. Decor is on trend. I have to try their brunch!
Wow. As an Indian, this was an experience. Tapas style Indian food, served in beautifully plated ways, the ambiance of the restaurant was beautiful, & the drinks were phenomenal. 100% would recommend & would go again when I return to Montreal!
Really overhyped. Nice environment, flavourful food but I had an upset stomach after the meal. The service was friendly but mediocre: the waiter didn't know who had ordered which drink & didn't ever ask if we wanted another drink. We arrived after 2pm & weren't told the bottomless mimosa was only til 3pm. The waiter insisted on bringing one bill per person when we asked for a bill per couple/family at our table, refused to add the bills together so that we had to make so many extra transactions when paying, it took so long! He was pushy on tip when one person didn't leave one because her husband was going to leave it for both of them--which would have been avoided if he'd brought one bill as was requested, Overall, I was unimpressed & physically uncomfortable after a small meal.
Excellent food! Beautiful restaurant! Incredible drinks! Highly recommend!
I came here on a date. Obviously the first thing I did was read the 1 star reviews. I'm not gonna lie I was worried after I read them & the owners responses to some them. But having worked in the restaurant business for almost 10 years I know the game & I know how some clients can be. I also want to mention that I am half South Asian so I am very familiar with the dishes & the flavors as I ate this food growing up & still eat it at home. That being said let me get started with the review.
I'll mention that I rounded up to a 5. My actual rating is a 4.7 which is still phenomenal.
The ambience was great. The layout & decor of the restaurant is very nice. The bar looks fantastic. The bathrooms are pretty cool as well with the giraffes on the wall. The music was a tad bit loud. But not enough that it hindered my night. But be prepared to speak loudly & confidently if you don't naturally. Tbh I prefer the music on the louder side as I don't want to hear the tables next to me which I couldn't.
The service was excellent. I had a reservation & I was on time. My table was ready & we were sat right away by the hostesses.
We had the pleasure of having Adam as our server. He was quick to serve us our water & explained the drink menu to my date which I appreciated as it was our first time. He gave us time to look over the menu & he came back to take our order for our drinks. My date tried one of their cocktails which she enjoyed. The drinks came fairly quick. Adam was also back to take our order fairly quick. Luckily for him he didn't have to explain the food to me. I knew what I wanted. Adam was a good sport & we cracked a couple jokes together. For appetizers we order the samosas which were great & the sauce that comes with is excellent. They are a bit small & 1 order gives you 3, which is an odd number to split. They came fairly quick as well. For the main course we had the butter chicken, chicken Tikka masala, & the Chana masala. I ordered 2 sides of rice which were well portioned. I also ordered 4 garlic naans. The food came in a reasonable time frame. butter chicken was fantastic one of my favorite dishes & this one is up there for sure. The sauce was spot on for the taste of butter chicken. The chicken Tikka masala was also great. South Asians can use a lot of spices & some times make food excessively spicy my family is guilty of that for sure. This chicken Tikka masala was spicy enough but not over bearing (to cater to them white folks no doubt). The chana masala was also very good same critique as the Tikka masala spicy but not over bearing. The only thing for me that I thought could be a bit better was the garlic Naan. For me personally I like my Naan a bit more crisp. The Naan I had was more on the softer side. The taste was great but just a personal preference for me I guess, but imo the Naan should be a bit more crisp. During my meal I wanted to order more samosas. Adam was frequently in his section so it was easy for me to get his attention & tell him to bring another order of samosas. Which, again, came fairly quick. My date is not a big eater so I did have to take things to go. Adam was very quick to pack up my leftovers. We also ordered gulab jamuns for desserts which arrived perfectly. They were warm & w/ just the right amount of syrup. Adam knows the game so he brought me the check without me having to ask him. As soon as he saw my card sticking out of the check presenter Adam promptly got the interac machine. I hope he enjoyed his tip because I enjoyed his service so thanks again Adam!
Overall this is a great place to check out. We had a great time. Don't get scared by the unfair reviews. I have come to the conclusion that those clients were probably not the best & are most likely frequent complainers. You really can't please some people & some people should probably just stay at home tbh. It is a bit on the pricey side but you should know this going in. I would say it is worth to check out. Had a great night thanks again!
Great good & atmosphere!
Amazing drink menue curated by the restaurent.
Only negative thing I have to say & there was no AC , during a 40degree summer wiht humidex, not so pleasant 😅
Drinks & Main Course was really good , i hope they work on their starters , quantity of the starters was too less & also taste wasnt as great as main course , but the ambiance & service was really good & even the main course was really good , overall a very good fine dining indian restaurant.
