Review Summary

Hof Kelsten is widely regarded as a standout bakery in Montreal, consistently praised for its high-quality ingredients and technical skill. The chocolate babka is frequently cited as the best in the city, while the diverse selection of buttery croissants, savory pastries, sandwiches, and soups like the matzoh ball soup receive significant acclaim. While most visitors highlight the welcoming, friendly service and the pleasant atmosphere, some feedback points to limited seating, inconsistent staff experiences, and a desire for more variety in availability. Although opinions on price and specific recipe changes vary, the bakery remains a popular destination for those seeking fresh, artisanal goods and a unique coffee experience.

Les pâtisseries sont délicieuses. Tout est frais & fait maison avec amour. Le café est aussi délicieux. Je recommande fortment!

Great bakery near Mount Royal Park. The pretzel was flaky & savory. The brioche my mom got was insanely moist & full of flavor. I ate quite a bit, & I am not really a fan of raisins. I would definitely return here if I came back to Montreal.

I heard about it therefore decided to try it out. It's okay but the croissant was a bit dry & maybe overcooked.

It's an addiction. J'y vais le plus souvent possible pour manger leur sandwich au gravlax & déguster un délicieux café. Probablement l'un des meilleurs café @ Montréal!
