I didn't even place the order myself-my roommate ordered from H2 Hyderabadi House for all of us-but the experience was still really disappointing.
He ordered veg platters with 2 rotis, & after placing the order, they called to say rotis weren't available. That part is understandable. But when he asked for garlic naan as a substitute, they said they would only send 1 naan instead of 2 rotis because naan costs more.
The thing is, 2 rotis cost $6 total, & 1 naan costs $5-so it's not even an equal replacement. & honestly, I'm not crying over $1-$2. It's about service & how you treat your customers.
From a customer's perspective, if something isn't available, the restaurant should try to fairly accommodate the order instead of reducing the quantity like that.
Even though I didn't order myself, it still affected the whole meal & overall experience. It just shows a lack of proper service & consideration.
I ordered 2 veg platters & added 2 rotis in Uber. Shortly after, I got a call saying rotis weren't available. That's completely understandable-things can run out. But when I asked for a substitute, they offered garlic naan & then said they would only send 1 naan instead of 2 rotis because naan is more expensive.
This is not about $2-$3-it's about basic service & respect for customers. In the restaurant industry, when something isn't available, you try to make it right for the customer, not reduce the quantity they paid for.
To make it worse, my roommate also ordered from here recently & received only naan without proper items from the meal. That's just unacceptable-how is someone supposed to eat only naan?
What's most disappointing is that they've now lost regular customers because of this. I personally order from here 7-8 times a week, but after this experience, I won't be ordering again. The same goes for my friends living with me, & I definitely won't be recommending this place to anyone.
Very poor service, lack of hospitality, & careless handling of loyal customers. Really let down.

Would recommend visiting it if you are craving for India food 🇮🇳.

Dazu gab's Reis aufs Haus. Was will man mehr? Top Empfehlung!
My wife & I are staying down the street. We are from Oklahoma. We have walked by here a few times while strolling. I told her I wanted to try it. I have only eaten this cuisine one other time in Nashville. We were tired, so we got it to go. I ask them to recommend something spicy, & let them know, I like spicy. They suggested the Chicken Tiki Masala. OMG. It did not disappoint. It was absolutely delicious & fire. The best of both worlds. Really, the chef knocked it out the park. Hats off. The flavors were bold & the spice was just right. Not too hot where you could not enjoy it, but right there at, "Good God give me another bite." So anyone wondering if they need to stop in & eat. I say, you will be sorry if you pass it by. Do yourself a favor & stop in. The Garlic Naan was magic. They even threw in an "On the House," rice. They you fellas. Next time we come to Montreal, we will be stopping in again. This time to dine in & sample some of everything.
The waiter was very polite & patient. He made sure the spice was just right for everyone & was very quick with our requests. We got unlimited rice & the naan bread was a perfect serving. I will definitely return for how good the prices & portions are.

Enjoying a leisure stroll along St. Denis street one evening, with no particular place to go, we stopped into a local Indian resto at the northern end of the main commercial part of the street (just south of St. Joseph). It was a quiet evening & we were the only patrons (though it was early). The decor & style of the restaurant is very basic with hints of India decorating the walls & ceilings & maybe a bit too bright. The menu is extensive & all traditional Indian options are available. We opted for a Dal Soup (ok...surprisingly with a bland flavor), Butter Chicken (good), Chicken Tikka Masala (good), Shrimp Biryani Rice (good), Paneer Makhani (good...but very similar to the butter chicken dish with minimal difference in taste) & garlic naan (good). The service was pleasant & friendly. Enjoy!
We have tried mango lassi which was yummy Salty lassi on point Chicken naan- ok ok Garlic naan- so tasty Baigan bhartha- worth trying Paneer bhurji - yummiest Shahi paneer - ok ok was little sweet in flavour Veg manchurian - ok ok, also little sweet They offered us a complemented gulab jamun Overall experience was good, friendly staff Quantity was good as compared to price
Our favourite Indian food in Montreal!
The food is incredible (yumm butter chicken, garlic naan). The service is fast & lovely, & they will remember when you come back.
Really nice location on St Denis where you can sit outside as well. Quite affordable for good Indian!
