Literally the best Indian food I have had in Montreal. The biryani was so well made (I especially loved the boneless option) & I'm super critical about biryani since I'm from Lucknow. But I loved it, even the raita was well whipped & the correct amount of cucumber chunks. Additionally they gave us a kheer on the house, that level of service is so hard to find here. Oh their daal makhni is super well made & creamy, not watered down & super flavorful. I really recommend this place for a homey, filling meal :)

10/10 experience. We ordered the biryani & dal from this restaurant & both were excellent. The delivery boxes were filled to the top, the food was fresh & delicious, & they even gave us free rice & kheer on the side at no charge. I will be ordering again!!
I ordered biryani, paratha, & paneer curry from this restaurant, & the taste was absolutely incredible. As someone new to Canada, I didn't have any food delivery apps, but one of the staff members went above & beyond by personally delivering my food to my hotel. They even included several complimentary items on the house! It was such a heartwarming gesture, & the food was the best I've had in a long time. Highly recommend this place for both their food & exceptional service!
If you like Spicy Grill in the West Island, you're in for a treat with their downtown location. Nestled amongst other eateries on rue St. Denis, be ready to tantalize your taste buds! The dishes are richer & more flavourful, because the cook has magically upgraded every classic. We had the chicken korma, coconut chicken, beef biryani, & the salmon sizzler on hot skillet. Everything was delightful, with a new personality. The spices were calculated, as if added love was given to bring out another level of yum! Oh, & the service - top notch. You will be served as the Maharajah himself! Spicy Grill 2.0, just go & enjoy!
I visited around 2 AM, & this place is a must-visit for late-night cravings. I ordered Chicken Dum Biryani & Chicken Tikka. The Biryani was unique & tasty in its own way. Though the order took a little time, it was understandable given the rush, & they were still relatively quick. The complimentary dessert at the end made our day. Overall, the food & service were top-notch.
Disappointed that I only tried two dishes... but even sharing with another, the biryani was so much that we had some left over. Paneer was soft & fresh, best I've had. Can't wait to go back. Amazing food & friendly too.

Enjoying a leisure stroll along St. Denis street one evening, with no particular place to go, we stopped into a local Indian resto at the northern end of the main commercial part of the street (just south of St. Joseph). It was a quiet evening & we were the only patrons (though it was early). The decor & style of the restaurant is very basic with hints of India decorating the walls & ceilings & maybe a bit too bright. The menu is extensive & all traditional Indian options are available. We opted for a Dal Soup (ok...surprisingly with a bland flavor), Butter Chicken (good), Chicken Tikka Masala (good), Shrimp Biryani Rice (good), Paneer Makhani (good...but very similar to the butter chicken dish with minimal difference in taste) & garlic naan (good). The service was pleasant & friendly. Enjoy!
We've been twice & I honestly think we are addicted! The first time, I ordered off the daily special menu (lamb biryani) & the dessert. We really enjoyed it & it was different from the typical fare you find in Montreal. The lamb biryani had nice morsels of tender meat, slices of raw onion & lemon wedge. We gobbled it up! We eat pretty spicy & tried medium. It was deliciously spicy but if you have trouble with heat, I strongly recommend asking for the mild version. The dessert was special! I've never had anything like it. It was like a puran poli stuffed with lentils & sweet. First bite, I wasn't sure but by the second bite, I was hooked. We've already gone back less than week later & ordered off the menu the Lamb Rogan Josh & we are VERY happy with it! Fresh plump tomatoes, a good amount of tender lamb & the sauce is very nice. A nice balance of spices & ingredients. Again, not too greasy & not oversalted. Perfect. The staff is so nice & we felt very welcomed when we went. The prices are very reasonable, makes us want to go back sooner than later. The menu feels authentic, interesting & extensive. We can't wait to try more (chicken 65, noodle dishes, breakfast dishes, etc).
