Review Summary

Overall, Gio's Restaurant in Saint Sauveur earns praise for solid value and friendly, attentive service, with a warm atmosphere and a pleasant terrace that overlooks the village. The menu spans pizza, pasta and dishes with seafood and meat, and portions are described as generous, with salmon and other staples frequently highlighted as tasty. Some reviews note occasional gaps such as veal parmigiana that is overcooked, pasta dishes that are heavy on tomato sauce, or lasagna that arrives cold inside. On the whole, service is described as courteous and professional, though a few experiences mention a rushed pace or slower beverage service. Affordable lunch and dinner deals are repeatedly mentioned, making Gio's a reliable spot for casual dinners with friends. The place is a favorite for many in the area and visitors say they would return, especially to enjoy the terrace in warmer weather, good wine, and the overall friendly atmosphere.

We usually come in the summer so this was our first time in winter. Same excellent service as usual. The pasta dishes & pizzas are what my family loves. It was a bit tight between tables & restaurant was a bit chilly so maybe bring a warm top or shawl to cover up.

Excellent service & food, & we really enjoyed the vibe of this place. Also, the team was friendly, knowledgeable, & helpful about gluten free dietary restrictions. Gio's does not offer gluten free pasta, pizza crust, or bread. But there were multiple entrees on the menu that could be modified to make them gluten free. I had the chicken florentine with mixed veggies & it was terrific, & had zero issues with cross contamination. We sat on the terrace, aka the front porch of the charming, historic home. Though the indoor seating & great patio out back (with a water feature) also looked inviting.

Nice & cozy restaurant. Great quality Italian food. Good size portions. I liked the Gio salad more than the Cesar. They offer a choice of pasta noddles that are combined with different sauces. I had the penne with meat sauce. My wife & mother both had the linguine with Paesano sauce. All were very tasty. They have a good wine list with reasonable prices. Staff is very friendly & attentive. Free Parking in front of the restaurant or across the street in the public lot. We will return.

The quality of food & service was excellent. The wine selection & prices are good. The Gio salad is served with a very tasty dressing. I would recommend that salad over the Cesar. The pasta dishes are plentiful. I tried the Penne with meat sauce. The others had the Fettuccine with the Paesano sauce. Both tasted wonderful. The ambiance is nice & our server was professional & attentive. We will return again.

We wanted Italian pasta & did have what we came for. The atmosphere was very nice in the back deck, very homey feel. The service was good, bathrooms ok, careful of the top stairs & un even floor due to an ageing building. Parking close but neat full. The food was ok, nothing to write home about. The escargot with cream sauce was bland & had fewer snails than mushrooms, cutting corners, it was obvious.

Service was good. Space needs love. Finally food was ordinary. Apetizers such as calamari should not be on the menu. Seafood pasta had no taste other than the cream used in the sauce, & almost no seafood in it. Others ordered veal à la lemon & another with cream sauce. Again, no taste. Finally, couldn't think they could serve a weak espresso. Not the usual chef obviously. Not worth the price either. Will give them another chance.

Simply amazing. The pasta was fresh & authentic Italian! You must try it with chicken. The service is excellent & the ambiance is perfect. I also had the best filet mignon. I cannot wait to return. Thank you Gio's

To be perfectly honest I cannot talk negativly about this restaurant. Food was great & the staff very catering!
I'm gluten intolerent & I felt like eating pasta & they had an option for which was great. I took the pasta with seafood & after I ordered the waiter came back to inform me that one of the fish had gluten in it! Thought to myself that everyone really did care from the waiting all the way back to the kitchen.
The only unpleasant thing about this place is its size! The dining room was big like my appartment with a party of 20 people :(
For the rest all was great & would highly recommend.
