Walking around Pointe-Claire Village, can make a girl real hungry.
Gigi Pizzaria has been on my'Need to Try' list for a few months. It was recommended by a few friends. I haven't gone earlier because parking can be a little tough.
We were greeted by a very friendly lady & seated immediately. For a Wednesday lunch it was quite busy. We were lucky there was a booth still available.
The menu is not extensive, but there are more that enough selections. Ranging from a small selection of spaghetti lasagna to a large selection of subs & pizzas.
We had pizza. A 10''Deluxe' to be exact. It was loaded with cheese, mushrooms, green peppers, pepperoni, bacon, & onions. Holy moly. The sauce was light so the flavors of the toppings was able to stand out.
Only downside was that it was a bit wet under the crust which was a bit underdone. I didn't say anything because it was ok. I'm just very picky. My friend had a single topping pizza, 1/2 pepperoni & 1/2 capicollo, & nit was dry & perfectly cooked. Sometimes, when there are too many toppings the tendency is to stay a little wet on the bottom. It takes a long time for the mushrooms & peppers to dry out.
When I go back? Absolutely.
Fantastic pizza - perfect crust, fresh sauce, quality cheese, & generous toppings. Great flavors & fast, friendly service. Highly recommend!
Gigi's has been a staple of Pointe-Claire for ages, & with good reason. Their thick, chewy, cheese-laden pizzas are delicious comfort food that summons people back year after year. I know folks who've grown up in Pointe-Claire & moved away, who later drive into town just to stop at Gigi's. The service is friendly, their prices have remained reasonable over the years & it's great to grab a pie in warmer months & walk down to the water.
It's unfair to every other restaurant how amazing Gigis is. I've been to dozens of pizza places in my life & none of them can come close. Consistently perfect food for the decades I've been going here. There is nothing that can be improved. Their pizzas have a generous amount of cheese & sauce, which are of high quality. The dough is also delicious & easy to chew. The reviews saying otherwise are false. Please never close down or change the receipes. Every other restaurant is sub par in comparison. Basically, Gigi's pizza is like the Rolls Royce of pizzas. P.S. They do take debit. They were cash only for the longest time but have recently added a debit machine.
Amazing OLD SCHOOL Montreal pizza. Finally found a place that tastes like the past & does NOT skimp on cheese, dough is chewy having risen properly. Pie is perfectly symmetrical that respects the 1 inch edge to toppings ratio (in other words it's a real Montreal european pizza, NOT a taco or pita or naan covered from edge to edge). I ordered the large bacon. Just PERFECT mouth feel. Seriously, I am very humbled by their lone location on the Lakeshore drive. PRICE IS REASONABLE for a pie! ABSOLUTELY WORTH the drive! MERCI BEAUCOUP
This is our go-to restaurant for pizza or subs & has been for over 35 years. Over the years we've had a lot of pizza & Gigis is top notch. This is the true Quebec all dressed pizza with lots of cheese & the pepperoni, green pepper & mushrooms are layered & plentiful under the cheese! Thanks Gigi's for continuing to exceed our expectations!
Really not impressed with the quality or taste. Overpriced & definitely not the best in the West Island. Very chewy, hard to cut through the crust, not much cheese or sauce.
Cash only; it's good they informed us that before we ordered. We ordered a cheese pizza & an all dressed submarine, both were delicious. The pizza dough was nice & chewy, generous cheese with nice tomato sauce. We were there on a Sunday at 12:30pm, not much wait time. Nice pleasant dining experience.
Every time I visit the country my mother brings me here & we get pizza, this is the best pizza, it has thick crust, a buttload of cheese & you have so many choices of toppings. Best I've ever tried & I love it so so so much, originally coming from Ireland I realised that, we really don't have the best pizza :/. Love this place highly highly recommend it.
I ordered a large half cheese half mushroom pizza. It tasted good but nothing very special or unique. The price however is extremly high for their pizza, i am not sure why they charge this much for some cheese & pizza sauce on a bread.
Best pizza in the west island 🍕🍕🍕 there's so much cheese & the crust & all the toppings are excellent. A must 👍👍
Ordered a medium pepperoni from Uber Eats. The cheese is plentiful. Just the right amount of pepperoni. Crust is pretty thick. Overall great pizza.
I had the cheese & all dressed & I really enjoyed them! Would definitely go back if I am in the West Island. This place has gained iconic eatery status on the island & delivers a tastey thick crust Zah.
They offer great variety of Italian pizza, pasta & lasagna. Their pizza is very special since they are creative with toppings & they add extra cheese. We ordered a medium Special Gigi pizza, a small Deluxe pizza & French Fries for the three of us. Gigi Special pizza is topped with steak & Deluxe is topped with bacon & onions. What we ordered was way more than enough & we had so much leftovers to bring home since you start feeling full after the first slice. Both of our choices were equally delicious, but my favorite was Special Gigi Pizza.
Decent old school pizza. Thicker breadier but with nice blistering & lots of cheese. I love the retro interior.
Used to go here over 20 years ago & it is still just as good as my childhood memories made it out to be!! Sooooo much cheese
In my household, weekends are a sacred ritual of indulging in takeout cuisine, & a beloved haunt is Gigi Pizzeria nestled in Pointe-Claire village. Every corner of Quebec seems to have its cherished pizza haven, a place where the locals hold fervent convictions that it reigns supreme in terms of being the most delectable, the oiliest, the cheesiest, or the heartiest, among other attributes.
Gigi Pizzeria transcends mere nourishment; it encapsulates the essence of comfort food, a testament to their genuine care, & an emblematic ode to the enduring appeal of the quintessential classic pizza. Each bite unravels a symphony of gooey cheese strands that meld seamlessly with hearty, meat-laden toppings, a stark departure from the flimsy, featherweight boxes that typify other pizzerias. Bringing home a Gigi pizza is akin to bringing home a complete culinary experience, leaving no room for hunger & ensuring a delightful encore with leftovers that retain their delectable allure, even the day after.
Such is the magic of this pizzeria that whenever I entertain friends visiting from the United States, a trip to Gigi’s is non-negotiable. They’ve never before experienced submarine sandwiches, pizzas, or poutines quite like those served at Gigi’s. These dishes become a veritable gastronomic embassy, representing the quintessential flavor of Montreal pizza. In the grand hierarchy of Montreal’s pizza offerings, Gigi’s proudly sits at the apex, embodying the pinnacle of pizza excellence in the city.
My commitment to this gastronomic haven knows no bounds. I willingly embark on a journey that spans the entire length of the island, traversing from one end to the other, solely for the purpose of acquiring Gigi’s exceptional pizza. Such is the allure of this culinary gem that even the distance cannot deter my family from savoring its exquisite flavors. @mtlrestorap
