It all just worked. From the Negroni to the pickles to the clam chowder to the rib steak. Classic iceberg salad with blue cheese dressing. All enjoyed on a patio in front of a building from 1830. Our host/waiter - JP - set the scene: ask for him & you get class service. He even knows the mortar! You won't be disappointed. Thanks JP & the rest of the team.

My wife & I had an absolutely phenomenal experience here for my birthday dinner at Gibbys. Staff were all super friendly & accommodating to our 9 month old, our server Maxim (forgive me if I spelled wrong) was attentive & made perfect suggestions on food & beverages, & everyone had personality versus other cookie cutter fine dining establishments. This place exemplifies everything I look for in a place of recommend. Combining the quality of food & beverage, personal recommendations, & friendliness of the staff, this may have been the best meal I've ever had!
My only complaint is they didn't have a sweatshirt in my size for me to purchase on my way out 😂 15/10 establishment!
We absolutely will be back next time we are up in Montreal!

Everything you want in a steakhouse. Watch the chowder first bite..cayenne? Yes to the $33/glass merlot forward Bordeaux, yes to the burrata & yes to the Monte Carlos potato. I would go with the blue cheese salad next time after having both. I ordered medium but would opt for medium rare on the filet. Service was exceptional, atmosphere perfect.

Nous avons découvert Gibby's lors d'un mariage & wow, quelle belle découverte que ce restaurant. Vraiment, je n'ai rien de négatif à dire. L'emplacement dans le Vieux-Montréal, l'endroit est magnifique &, en plus, le service de voiturier y est inclus. La nourriture est exceptionnelle, le personnel est top & que dire de nos serveurs : je n'ai jamais eu un service aussi impeccable. Ils étaient tellement efficaces, gentils, à notre écoute &, ajoutons à cela, tellement polis & professionnels ! Vraiment wow, je leur donne 100/10 ! Merci pour cette reception mémorable !

Best steakhouse in Montreal without a doubt. From the moment we stepped in they were kind. The food was delicious. The onion soup was the best I've had yet. The salad was delicious especially with the tangy sauce. The steak was cooked to perfection & juicy inside out. I got the NY Strip & it was delicious. Definitely a must try in Montreal. 9/10.
