Gibby's is expensive. The service was excellent(Nancy) the food was great. But the place is perhaps too casual for the price you pay. The wine list was shockingly simple, with wine prices at around 2.5X retail value - which is what you would expect from a good Steakhouse - but the choices were boring. Either they underestimate their clientèles tastes or I over-estimate what somebody spending 💰 expects from a wine list. For an above average steak & a night out Gibby's is a certainly great quality but not great value. The Keg is where I would go for a night out surrounded by people in jeans & T-shirts who aren't that into wine.

One of the best dinning experiences, beautiful restaurant classy , romantic. The food was incredible dish after dish , very generous portions. The staff were so friendly & welcoming from the valet , hostess & servers. Our waiter (Kas) went above & beyond truly one of best, have never ever received this type of special treatment what a star speechless for words.

L'ensemble du menu est assez dispendieux, mais la qualité de la cuisine & du service vaut le détour. Nous avons choisi en entrée des huîtres Rockefeller & comme repas le Boeuf Wellington. C'était délicieux ! Mention spéciale à notre serveur : le service était rapide & attentionné, nous n'avons jamais manquer de rien ! À noter que pour les anniversaires, un gâteau est offert & une photo est prise ( style Polaroid) La photo est ensuite placé dans une carte , pour que vous puissiez garder un beau souvenir de votre visite 😊 Pour le parking, il y a un service de valet à l'entrée du restaurant!

Service parfait, nous n'avons jamais eu besoin de nous soucier de reprendre de l'eau ou du vin. Tout est arrivé à temps, bien préparé, avec une grande attention. Note parfaite.

I'm a little torn on what to say about this restaurant. The atmosphere was great, reminiscent of other low light steak houses. Our waiter was also great. Knowledgeable on the menu & always checking in. I'm torn on the food b/c I think the remainder of my table loved their food. Lobster tail was apparently devine as was the lamb & steak for others. I had the filet but butterflied to cook it well but it ended up being overcooked. I would say this is not hard to do but it was a steak house so I expected a little better. I also had broccoli that was basically dipped in hot water. Needed a little bit more cook time. Butter didn't even melt on it. If you get dessert, creme brulee all the way. Fantastic! Also expect a large bill going in. For 4 of us it was $500 US with only a couple of alcoholic drinks. So not for the faint of heart.

Oh, Gibbys! What an experience it was to treat my wife for her 28th birthday. The service was impeccable, with continuous attention to our needs, & plenty of delicious bites to enjoy while waiting for the main course, which was simply incredible. Special thanks to Vitaly for being so knowledgeable & friendly. We even received a huge, in-house-made cake for Madame that we couldn't get enough of! It was definitely worth spending a little extra for such a memorable night out.

Simply one of the greats, the service is high end, the food is simple but good & the produce is of high quality, the price is reflected in the quantity & quality from the entrées to the desserts. I have nothing to say except call & get a reservation asap this is a must try of montreal a true staple.

I gave Gibby's 3 chances in the last 3 years & they've disappointed every time. This is a restaurant that relies very heavily on its history & "pedigree" & caters mostly to unsuspecting American tourists looking for a decent steakhouse in Old Montreal & Montreal natives who are clinging on to a relic from their past. The food in unquestionably not worth the price. The steaks are so chewy, that I'd recommend ordering them medium-well because they become more tender the longer they're cooked. The appetizers & sides are average;the Romanian style sausages were hard & tasteless, & I know because my wife is Romanian, & the side of rice they serve tastes as good as a greasy Greek dive. The service is friendly but slow & clumsy, despite the uniforms & overall "look" & for your money you're better off at any French restaurant nearby that will cook you a much better steak for less money...sorry Gibbys, I really tried my best!

Service is so slow with infrequent check ins. It took nearly two hours to get main course with only one app & a salad. No mashed potatoes or Mac n cheese as an option for sides. No Coke products. Rib eye was ok. It had some gristle. Filet was phenomenal.

I'm a fan of Gibby for 4 years, I love to come here for all the holidays, best service, best dining experience, I always order the well done fillet steak, but today is the first time I have eaten a dry, hard to swallow steak, I don't know if the chef was changed & a cut was made in the middle to make it well done. But the beef lost all its juice.

Le seul restaurant qui vos vraiment le prix de ce que l'on paye, la qualité de la nourriture & de la préparation en plus de la générosité des plats & différents services. Un personnel qui mérite vraiment un bon pourboire par un service d'exection & attentionné. Pour une soirée parfaite pour les anniversaires car une attention unique qui se démarque d'ailleur. Juste mentionné quand vous faire la réservation que c'est pour un anniversaire de couple ou pour une personne, vous serez plus que agréablement surpris. Ambulance calme & propice a des discutions ou l'on peut enfin s'entendre entre nous avec décoration d'époque. Plusieurs foyers pour une ambiance romantique parfaite. Le seul restaurant pour le quel on aime aller & se gâter.

We spent our 25th wedding anniversary visiting friends in Montreal back in 2006 & we were just talking about Montreal & I mentioned having dinner at Gibby's. It was such a wonderful memory that I wanted to leave a review. The experience that night was unforgettable...even all these years later. Pour kes frites -0- oublie sa frite noir cuit dans de l'huile passé date goute amère pour le steaks à 77$ il était bon on n'as pas eu le choix de changer de table pour allé sur un autre etage on n'était dans un congélateur !!! L'expérience ok total pour 4 + ou - 700$ pour soupe
