We visited Le Garden Room for the first time to celebrate our 11th anniversary & were warmly welcomed with complimentary champagne-thank you to David for this thoughtful gesture! 🥂
The restaurant's aesthetics with the glass ceiling & greenery were cute & modern. I had the Violetta cocktail, which was light & refreshing-ideal for a low-alcohol drinker like myself.
We ordered the seasonal Lobster party Platter, which came with a variety of dishes including papaya salad, fried Mae Sri roll, pork balls, fish balls, Thai Hainan fried chicken, Pad Thai Mae Sri with shrimps & crispy lobster.
The portion was perfect for two & everything was delicious, though the selection leaned more toward fried items than expected.
For dessert, we shared the mango sticky rice with coconut milk & pandan-absolutely delicious & the perfect sweet (not too sweet) finish to the meal.
Jeanne, our waitress, was absolutely lovely & attentive throughout the evening.
Looking forward to coming back & trying the curry & braised beef next time. Overall, a great experience!Voir plus

Our family of four visited for dinner on a Tuesday. We did reserved a table but the restaurant was not busy that night.
The hostess was friendly & welcoming when we arrived, however the server for our table was not as warm & attentive. Nonetheless we still enjoyed our food & the ambiance.
I like that their menu has a variety of Thai dishes & not just the commonly popular pad thai/pad sew. We tried their Sukhothai & Baa Mee Mo noodles, as well as the hainan steamed chicken. Personally the portion was perfect size for me & delicious (not too salty). Though the papaya salad & thai iced tea were just alright, I've had better ones.
Overall it was still a pleasant experience. I'd visit again if I'm in the area.Voir plus

Disappointing Experience - Poor Service & Unbalanced Food
We visited Garden Room - Mae Sri last night as a group of five, including two vegetarians, & unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing.
From the moment we arrived, the service was slow & inattentive. A thin, bald server with one earring attended to us, & his attitude came off as unwelcoming. It took 20 minutes just to take our order after we were seated. Throughout the evening, we literally had to get up from our table multiple times just to get someone's attention-for placing orders, asking questions, & finally, even to request the bill.
The only highlight of the evening was the bartender, who was genuinely polite & served us some well-made, enjoyable cocktails.
As for the food, we started with the papaya salad, which had good flavor but came in a very small portion for the price.
For mains, I ordered the stir-fried Thai vegetables with rice & my friend had the Pad Thai. We clearly requested them to be made moderately spicy (level 3), as we're quite familiar with spice levels at other Thai restaurants in Montreal. Unfortunately, both dishes arrived bland, with barely any flavor.
We asked for the spice to be adjusted, but what came back was the complete opposite-both vegetarian dishes were so excessively spicy that they were practically inedible. It felt careless & made the experience even more frustrating.
For a bill that came to $75 per person, the service & food quality were far below expectations.
While the ambiance was nice & the cocktails enjoyable, the overall experience-especially the poor service & the inconsistent handling of our food-makes it hard to recommend this restaurant. There's potential, but until the service improves & the kitchen learns to balance flavors properly, I wouldn't return.Voir plus

If you come to this restaurant thinking the'vegan' section of the menu is safe, you are sadly very mistaken. Most of the food is cooked in a fish sauce & is not able to be made otherwise, including food marked as vegan or vegetarian. The only food I was comfortable eating was the vegan fried rice, which was delicious & not made with said fish sauce, but having made the reservation specifically for the pad thai & not being able to eat any noodle dishes, I was highly disappointed. The food was great overall but quite deceiving.

We tried pad thai & boat noodles & they were both delicious. The only thing I didn't like was the cocktail because it was too strong & tasted more like a shot but I guess some people might like that :) For drink I recommend the milk tea. Service & ambiance are greatVoir plus

Flavours were ok but our experience was saddly deceiving. After receiving our drinks (that were good), orders were sent to the wrong table, we were placed at a table close to the entry door & were feeling the cold air everytime someone came in for Uber eats even if we asked when entering to have a table at the back (restaurant was half empty, the tables at the back were never taken throughout our 1h45min stay). Our main dishes came at best at room temperature & asked to correct the situation. We were told they would be remade but only to find that they were most likely quickly reheated in a microwave or something (meatballs & prawns were still lukewarm, my plate missing the same prawn I had tasted before asking to correct the situation). Our Pad Thai was a ball of rice noodles stuck together most likely for being waiting on a shelves somewhere. Noticed the staff a second time without correction. Staff seemed completely lost, we changed 3-4 times of servers. Our table was never cleaned of our previous plates from the appetizer or drinks. Would not recommend for the price, there are other great Thai restaurants in the city for this money.Voir plus

Pour notre deuxième visite dans ce temple de lo street food thailandaise à Montréal, ma copine & moi avons une fois de plus été transportés, comme si chaque plat nous ramenait aux ruelles animées de Bangkok. Cette adresse a su capturer l'essence de la cuisine de rue thailandaise, & chaque bouchée est une véritable explosion de saveurs & de textures. Nous avons commencé par des boulettes de porc marinées dans un mélange épicé sucré-salé, grillées à la perfection. La chair tendre & juteuse contrastait magnifiquement avec l'aspect légèrement croustillant de l'extérieur. Le tout accompagné d'une sauce à la cacahuète onctueuse qui ajoutait une profondeur gourmande avec une pointe de piquant en fin de bouche. Le plat suivant, un Pad Thai revisité, était tout aussi exaltant. Les nouilles parfaitement al dente, légèrement caramélisées, s'associaient à des crevettes croquantes & des cacahuètes broyées pour un jeu de textures irrésistible. La sauce, subtilement sucrée & acidulée grâce au tamarin, faisait vibrer nos papilles à chaque fourchette. Non seulement la cuisine est d'une authenticité bluffante, mais le cadre ajoute une ambiance chaleureuse & décontractée qui donne envie de revenir encore & encore. Ce restaurant s'est définitivement imposé comme un incontournable à Montréal pour les amateurs de street food thailandaise, & on se sent privilégiéVoir plus

Overall pleasently surprised. Location: thanks to the glass roof very bright during day & airy environment, rather cozy. Staff: friendly, but service a bit slow. But overall no complaint. Food: • Noodle Green Curry • Dried Noodle with Pork Balls • Longan Sticky Rice Both main dishes were fragrant. Unlike some reviews that say the food is bland, I think that they were properly seasoned. Thai food doesn't always have to explode in your face with flavours. The dishes had subtle notes of various ingredients, be it the lemon leaves, lemongrass, coriander, roasted peanuts etc. It seemed to me as if it was well balanced, subtle, yet well seasoned, so I can't understand some of the bad reviews. Longan sticky rice was not bad too. Not overly sweet. Longan most probably canned... Overall, they seem to serve dishes which you may not necessarely find in every other thai restaurant, which is nice. They upscale certain classic street food dishes & serve certain dishes which are more common in the north of Thailand. In general, if you want to discover thai food other than green or red curry, pad thai etc. I recommend to check out Garden Room.Voir plus

Great ambiance & cute location. Food was excellent & came at a timely manner. I really recommend the Hainan friend chicken & pad thai. The seafood rad na was tasty also but the noodles didn't stay crispy for long as there was so much sauce. Service was lackluster, they gave us another table's order twice. We also had to wait 15 mins after requesting the bill. Kind of disappointment since the restaurant was quite empty.Voir plus

Beautiful place with delicious food! We had the Set Tum Tad, Thai fried chicken, & shrimp Pad Thai. All three dishes were excellent, made with fresh, authentic ingredients. The service was very friendly, & the waitstaff were attentive. We had a wonderful night!Voir plus

Superbe restaurant y'a pas à dire. C'est de toute beauté. Petite terrasse de quelques tables à l'avant. Les cocktails sont intéressants. Pour les vins c'est autre chose. Seulement 2 rouges disponibles sur la carte (finalement 3 en réalité). Ils sont température tablette. & la bouteille a été laissée sur la table. Nous nous sommes servis nous-mêmes. Au niveau de la nourriture c'était très bon. Nous avons commandé 3 entrées -Salade de papaye (bonne mais pas piquante du tout contrairement à ce qu'on est habitué) -Salade de poulet croustillant (très intéressant) -Rouleaux impériaux (corrects) Nous avons également partagé 4 plats principaux tous très bons. Les portions sont assez copieuses. -Nouilles pad see ew (très bon plat) -Pad thaï (aussi excellent) -Curry vert (très bon) -Pad kra pao - sauté au basilic thaï (très bon) Les 7 plats nous ont été apportés simultanément. C'est une formule qui nous plaît moins donc si c'est votre cas aussi demandez à ce que ce soit fait différemment. Certains plats auraient eu tout intérêt à être mangés dès qu'ils sortent de la cuisine. Finalement le dessert. Nous avons choisi le mythique mango sticky rice thaïlandais. C'était bien mais à 15$ la portion nous n'avons pas eu l'impression d'en avoir pour notre argent, surtout que nous en avons commandé 2. Le service était bien sans être exceptionnel. Beautiful restaurant with plenty of light & greenery. Cute patio for the summer as well. My brother has celiac & they accommodated us & showed us a few items on the menu that would be safe for him! The food is excellent - but somewhat inconsistent. I came once when it wasn't as busy & ordered the pad Thai. It was delicious & flavourful. However, I came back again on a busier night & I found it to be a bit dry. The soups are insane - packed with flavour, protein & veggies. Everything a good soup should be. I recommend the boat noodle soup, the Tom yum & the Ba Mee Moo soup. Definitely recommendVoir plus

Gorgeous food & gorgeous place! The scenery was beautiful & outdoors, & the washrooms were quite clean. We went in on a Saturday morning & immediately got seated. We ordered two Pad Thais & the Pad See Ew from their expansive & large menu. It took about 15 minutes for the food to come. The Pad Thai was packed with flavour & perfectly sweet combined with the sourness of the lime. The noodles were a bit soft for my liking, but my friends found it to be perfect! The standout was the Pad See Ew - the noodles were chewy & flavourful, but the kale was tough & hard to bite into. We were served by Benjamin who was extremely kind, informative, & fun! We loved the vibe & cool atmosphere - we would 100% come visit again to try their other dishes.Voir plus

Initialement, j'avais attribué une note de 5 étoiles au Mae Sri sur St Denis, un restaurant que j'adorais, malheureusement fermé depuis. Par nostalgie, nous avons décidé de tenter l'expérience au Garden Room, espérant retrouver les saveurs de l'ancien établissement. En tant que végétalienne, j'ai apprécié la diversité des options disponibles. Cependant, il m'a semblé que le menu était presque identique mais à des prix beaucoup plus élevés. Certes, le cadre est magnifique, mais les tarifs sont vraiment élevés, surtout que le Pad Thai vegan n'avait rien de comparable à celui de St Denis - il avait beaucoup moins de goût. Bien que le cadre soit charmant, la hausse de prix & la baisse de qualité des plats, en particulier du Pad Thai vegan, sont décevantes.Voir plus

The food is really good there, I enjoyed it a lot. The curry was flavourful but could be a bit heavy depending on a person's taste. The meat in the curry (chicken) was soft, juicy & tender. As for the Pad Thai, the noodles were perfectly done, not overcooked or undercooked, just the right amount of chewyness. The drink we took was the Thai Milk Tea, it's amazing if you like bubble tea. The ambiance was cozy & relaxing, going there when there's sunlight makes a difference since they have a glass ceiling. Service was good too, very fast & kind. It's to be noted that the food size is smaller than a regular meal that someone would eat in my opinion. Nonetheless, I'd recommend this place to give it a try if you like Thai food!Voir plus

Un superbe endroit (vraiment) avec un bon service mais les plats sont vraiment ordinaire surtout pour le prix, le cocktail Mule était bon par contre. Le pad Thai vegan était super décevant je ne recommande pas du tout, manquait de goût & d'amour avec si peu de tofu. La personne avec moi a aussi trouvé son pad see ew bien normal pour un prix dérisoire. Allez s'y pour les drinks & la beauté du lieu mais pas pour la nourriture.Voir plus

A bit disappointed with my experience here! Came for a special event & called a week to be seated at a table & not the bar. Come to the restaurant to tell me we would be seated at the bar. However the hostess was very great & she gave us a table when one opened which was greatly appreciated. The pad Thai & the stir fried rice were amazing but was disappointed by how long it took to arrive. Took almost 45 minutes to an hour to get our two dishes after ordering, but the food was good nonetheless. Overall a decent experience with a couple of unfortunate eventsVoir plus

We really enjoyed all of the food, pad thai & the tom yum were delicious. However, we were seated by a member of the waitstaff & then forgotten about. We were a table of 4 girls right beside the bar & weren't approached about drinks or menus for around 10-15 minutes. When we did receive menus, the bartender apologized for the fact that were got neglected (her words). We said we understood. We then placed our orders for drinks & food. Everything came promptly but after we received the dishes, we did not see another member of the staff until we had to directly ask for the bills. We did not get checked on, were not offered the opportunity to order more drinks, & were not asked about the dessert menu. I had made reservations for 5 ahead of time with the message letting them know it was a special girls night out. Very unhappy with the service we received, will not be back & would not recommend.
Overall, food & ambiance were amazing, service absolutely sucked.

The food was good but not exeptional. They recommended Wagyu Pad Thai so we tried it but the beef was not tender enough or tasted differently for the extra price.
