Good, service & atmosphere was fantastic. My server Jeanne assisted with my order (I ordered a few dishes to try), as well as offered a great drink recommendation. The speed & quality of the service was above par & Jeanne demonstrated both passion & enthusiasm in the fantastic service she delivered!

We're regulars at Mae Sri Comptoir - every time we visit Montreal, we make sure to eat there at least twice. This time, we happened to hear about a bigger branch of the same restaurant & decided to give it a try.
First impression? The space is beautiful. Much more open & spacious than the comptoir, & the menu has more variety, which got us excited to try new dishes. & the food did not disappoint, everything was delicious, & to be honest, I even felt like the flavors were slightly better than the other location.
However, the biggest red flag for us, & clearly for many others based on the reviews, was the customer service. I'm not sure if the Thai lady (possibly the owner?) was just having a rough day, but the attitude we got when we politely mentioned that we were just here for the food & wouldn't be ordering drinks really soured the experience. It wasn't just me, both of my friends felt the same discomfort.
So, 3 stars - & that's entirely for the food. Unfortunately, despite the upgraded space & even better flavors, we'll be sticking with our usual Mae Sri Comptoir where the service has always felt warm & welcoming. The Thai lady there is amazing.Voir plus

10/10 recommend the green curry - it was absolutely delicious. The Tom Yum was unexpectedly VERY spicy. Both individuals that order it thought so.
The cocktails were very weak & served over too much ice. Very watered down. Not worth the $18 price point at all.
Service was okay but it felt as though staff was lacking. Drinks came out at the same time as our food & water refills were few & far between. Otherwise a pleasant experience.Voir plus

Food was good, although my boyfriend had the chicken & he said it was bland & unseasoned.
Service was horrible. Server/host barely came to check up on us to fill our water or ask us if we wanted another cocktail/beer (which we wanted). Table close by to us came in after us, had drinks refilled & dessert menu offered. They even left before us.
We had to try to catch our waiter's attention 15 mins we were done eating so we could ask for the bill. Was not offered the dessert menu & waited another 15 mins for bill to come while the server was chatting & having a laugh with the bartenders.Voir plus

We tried pad thai & boat noodles & they were both delicious. The only thing I didn't like was the cocktail because it was too strong & tasted more like a shot but I guess some people might like that :) For drink I recommend the milk tea. Service & ambiance are greatVoir plus

Flavours were ok but our experience was saddly deceiving. After receiving our drinks (that were good), orders were sent to the wrong table, we were placed at a table close to the entry door & were feeling the cold air everytime someone came in for Uber eats even if we asked when entering to have a table at the back (restaurant was half empty, the tables at the back were never taken throughout our 1h45min stay). Our main dishes came at best at room temperature & asked to correct the situation. We were told they would be remade but only to find that they were most likely quickly reheated in a microwave or something (meatballs & prawns were still lukewarm, my plate missing the same prawn I had tasted before asking to correct the situation). Our Pad Thai was a ball of rice noodles stuck together most likely for being waiting on a shelves somewhere. Noticed the staff a second time without correction. Staff seemed completely lost, we changed 3-4 times of servers. Our table was never cleaned of our previous plates from the appetizer or drinks. Would not recommend for the price, there are other great Thai restaurants in the city for this money.Voir plus

I ordered Ayudthaya boat noodles & it came in a very big bowl. The taste was authentic as if I was eating this bowl in Ayudthaya. The broth was so good & thick. The meat balls were the best part of it! Very tasty & you will feel the intensity of meat. The beef in the bowl was perfectly cooked & sliced. Then I ordered tapioca & it came with pandan flavor & very thick coconut cream on top. It's such a perfect way to finish my appetite. Furthermore, Thai milk tea was so perfect! Not too sweet & very milky, but too pricy for the small portion of drink. The atmosphere was very cozy & chilling. The opened roof & walls made it even more relaxing to hangout with your beloved ones. The service here was extraordinary. The waitress always made sure my cup of water was full. I'm so impressed, & I will definitely come back here again.Voir plus

Although the food is very well prepared & tastes great, the service at this restaurant is horrible. It took our waitress 10 mins to come to our table. By the time she did, we knew what we wanted to drink & what we wanted to eat. Our food came 10 minutes before our drinks, which was disappointing. The main dishes came out immediately & the waitress kept the dirty plates on our table & never came to ask us if the food was good, if anything was missing, for more water or for more drinks. So we're sitting here, at a table filled with dirty plates & no drinks just waiting for our bills, I guess.Voir plus

The atmosphere is fantastic during the evening, definitely recommend going on a quieter evening to enjoy a calmer experience, especially on a date. The staff was very accommodating. The food is definitely heavy, & I recommend going for one of the popular dishes which tend to be their best selections. The drink selection is good too, but it's hard to pass up a good Thai condensed milk tea or coffee. Overall considering the location, its a nice time.Voir plus

Service : notre serveur était adorable mais au niveau de la cuisine, ça a pris une éternité pour avoir nos desserts. C'était également assez long pour avoir mon drink, ils ont eu le temps de cuisine mon plat plat principal. Cuisine: pour certains plat comme le pad sew les portion ont changée. Ce n'était vraiment pas comme sur les photos des clients. Beaucoup moins généreux mais bon goût. Le mango sticky rice était la déception de la soirée. Il n'avait rien à voir avec celui d'habitude & t ils ont mis un petit coulis de lait de coco au au lieu de le faire nager dedans. Pour le coup, il n'en valait pas la peine. The food was delicious & the atmosphere was very well curated! My favourite honestly has to be the service. Zeineb was absolutely lovely, very receptive of our needs & so helpful when it came to recommendations (loved the mango sticky rice)!! I had the best experience from the reservation to the service itself ! I celebrated my 31st birthday with a group of 14 people. I got a very quick response via email to adjust my reservation number of guests. We had Louis as our server & he was amazing. He was very patient & attentive. They accommodated my picky drink preference perfectly. Food was delicious, everyone in the group enjoyed it. The decor is amazing. The vibes are very cool. Definitely an "instagram restaurant" if that is what tou are looking for. But I would recommend for anyone! Very much recommended 100% will come back ! This was our first time trying this restaurant; we went in as a party of 2, & by the time we got to the food, we understood the main attraction of the restaurant is its pretty atmosphere. Sadly, pretty decorations don't mean great service & food. To start off with food/drinks; the non alcoholic drinks were tasty, but food was mediocre. We ordered the Green Curry & the Steamed Chicken. The Green Curry was too small in portion size, with only 4 pieces of chicken & few vegetables, disappointing for 22$. Steamed chicken was ok. The server we had was a bit too shy with navigating taking our orders, it made the interaction a bit awkward. Her boss was also hovering above her shoulder the entire time, which didn't help either. On a last note, the seating arrangements for two seaters were a bit awkwardly placed, each table was way too close to each other, it didn't feel evenly spaced out nor personal enough. I personally won't be going back, we left with a bill thicker than it should've been & unsatisfied.Voir plus

Lovely Thai restaurant, went for a work lunch & the service was friendly & quick. Food was delicious & just the right portion too (not cheap on the plate 🍽️). The drinks we got were very refreshing & the mango 🥭 sticky rice was the perfect end for this meal. It was very sunny so having the sun just over our head & the general green room decor was very nice. The music wasn't too loud which was perfect to talk amongst ourselves easily without having to shout. Would go again & would recommend to other people.Voir plus

A nice cozy restaurant near the famous El Mac wall art, the food & drink tasted great. Felt the portion for the curry was less & the cost for the appetizer on higher side. The food was a serious disappointment - the boat noodle ayuthaya was absolute trash, while my companion's kad prakow (rice with chicken/basil stir fry) wasn't too much better. Given how stylish & aesthetically calming this spot is, it's better for grabbing a quick drink before scampering off elsewhere to eat.Voir plus

The food is really good there, I enjoyed it a lot. The curry was flavourful but could be a bit heavy depending on a person's taste. The meat in the curry (chicken) was soft, juicy & tender. As for the Pad Thai, the noodles were perfectly done, not overcooked or undercooked, just the right amount of chewyness. The drink we took was the Thai Milk Tea, it's amazing if you like bubble tea. The ambiance was cozy & relaxing, going there when there's sunlight makes a difference since they have a glass ceiling. Service was good too, very fast & kind. It's to be noted that the food size is smaller than a regular meal that someone would eat in my opinion. Nonetheless, I'd recommend this place to give it a try if you like Thai food!Voir plus

Un superbe endroit (vraiment) avec un bon service mais les plats sont vraiment ordinaire surtout pour le prix, le cocktail Mule était bon par contre. Le pad Thai vegan était super décevant je ne recommande pas du tout, manquait de goût & d'amour avec si peu de tofu. I was excited to dine here after having heard some positive things about the restaurant & I couldn't be more disappointed with my experience. The service was very lacklustre; the hostess / waitress couldn't care less that we were there & did not interact with us once during our meal. From the moment we got in to the moment that we left, the atmosphere was very lacking, & we did not receive so much as a hello / bonjour from the hostess when we got in. At no point was our water refilled & I would have ordered an additional drink after I finished my first one...had I been asked if I wanted anything else to drink. It took over 20 minutes to get their attention after finishing our meal to pay. The table next to us had similar issues & had to go to the bar & request to pay there for the staff to even notice that they existed. Normally I could excuse poor service if a place is busy, but there were 4 other tables in the entire restaurant at the time. The food was okay, not anything to write home about. Portions were average, bordering on small, & bland overall. The food could have been season more & the flavour profile wasn't the boldest. The only decent part of the night was the drink, but again...didn't even really get to try more than one due to the poor service. No matter how nice a restaurant looks visually, if the service is lacking & minimal effort is put into the atmosphere, the experience simply isn't worth the time or money. If you are reading this review, I would only ever go here for a drink & a view of the atrium but there are so many other places that offer drinks with better service / views.Voir plus

My favourite Thai restaurant in Montreal! 📌Crispy Pork Belly With Egg Crispy pork belly, fresh chilies, & asian kale. I wish the portion is bigger because it's so delicious. 📌Stir Fry With Thai Holy Basil & Egg Ground pork, long beans, Thai basil, & red chilies. The food was delicious, diverse, & filling but not at all in a "food coma" sort of way. Very well-balanced. The interior & the atmosphere were lovely, perfect for a date or night out with the gals! We had the Baa Mee Moo Soup, & the Thai Braised Beef Soup, which we both really enjoyed. We also had two of the Cold Thai Tea drinks, & they are 100% worth ordering alongside your meal.Voir plus
