It's such a cute little spot. The vibe is cozy & welcoming, & the staff was super nice & attentive throughout our meal.
We started with the fried chicken appetizer & the foie gras, both were great, but the foie gras really stood out, one of the best I've had. The fried chicken was tasty too, though the portion could've been a bit bigger. The asparagus was a bit of a letdown, not quite what we were hoping for.
For mains, I had the truffle tartare, which was absolutely delicious. My husband had the beef bavette, cooked & seasoned perfectly.
Overall, the food was great & the prices are really reasonable for the quality. Would definitely come back to try more!View more
Fries were obviously frozen, portions were so small for the price. But the service was excellent.View more
We got really kind service & the food was just sooo good. It's our second time coming & both times were such great experience. The burger & beef tartare were super yummy! Prices are very affordable too. Def recommend if you're in the area!View more
Prices & ambiance were great. We had the after hours menu, which was a great deal for a 3 course dinner. The smash burger was good, a standard burger, & the fries were tasty. Really liked the muscles & the sauce. Brownie was okay, a bit dense. Overall, great food for the price!View more
Reasonable price with good food. The Restaurant looks lovely! I loved the truffle spaghetti & the beef tartare.View more
Overrated for the price. The portions were small & over priced. We left hungry & the flavours weren't great. Again, for the price we were hoping for more. For example, the pasta is $30 for such a small amount. We were fine with having a 2 hour time limit but the food took a while to come out & then we got dessert but they forgot about the sparkler for my friends birthday so they had to come out with a piece of bread with a sparkler in it. Then before we were done eating they told us our time was up & we had to leave. It just felt rushed & disingenuous as an experience.View more
Really tasty dishes in a fun lively atmosphere. Very reasonable pricesView more
The food was good & came out quick. The prices were also good for brunch. It's better to come before 11 to avoid lineups.View more
Disappointing brunch on a Friday morning. Ordered the duck confit Benedict that arrived cold on a small plate. The potatoes that it came with were served much later, so we suspect they were burned originally & the egg dish got cold waiting. My friend ordered the grand slam, which came with a pancake but did not receive her maple syrup. Service was inattentive as the only waiter in the room was at the door seating new clients & setting the tables. There are so many better brunch places in Montreal that I would not recommend Foiegwa, especially at this price.View more
This place is overrated. We went there for the 3 courses for 25$ & the food portions were not only very small, but it was also very mid. We were excited about the truffle spaghetti & honestly the pasta tasted like the buldack carbonara one. It tasted cheap & not worth the price. It's a very small place, very crowded but it has a charm, sadly not as amazing as it was advertised on TikTok. :( I'm glad we had the chicken liver. It saved the night.View more
We ordered one of their most famous dishes which is the truffle cream pasta. The dish was flavorful & well-prepared, but the portion size was rather small, especially given the higher price point. On the bright side, the service was pleasant & attentive. Additionally, their cocktails were a highlight-there were plenty of options, & the ones we tried were excellent. ( Europe trip) Overall, it's a good spot for a flavorful meal & great drinks, though a bit on the expensive side for the portions served.View more
Nice little restaurant, I love the deco. Our waitress is so nice & helpful. They got a late night menu with the price of 25 & 50 for 3 course meal. Sure I'll go again.View more
A restaurant with a classic space, imbued with European style & the diverse & sophisticated flavors of French cuisine. My sister & I chose the following dishes: - Beef Tartare (appetizer) ~ $21.75 - Escargot (appetizer) ~ $15.50 - Truffle Pasta (main) ~ $28.75 - Truffle Fries (sides) ~ $9.25 Escargot was truly a pleasant surprise - the delicate flavor made me remember it forever after enjoying this legendary dish from a thousand years ago. According to my research, this type of snail is a specialty on the menu of Portugal or the Catalan region in Spain. However, in France, snails have just developed & become a very popular dish. Snail shells have also been found at Volubilis, an archaeological site in Morocco. From there, people have learned about the origin of this snail species. Accordingly, snails have been on the menu in France as well as other countries since the Romans brought them as a favorite snack 2000 years ago. Snails have been a food since ancient Rome, gradually becoming popular over time & existing & developing until today. After spreading to France, they became popular, especially snail dishes originating from the Burgundy region. On the other hand, beef tartare is not to my & my sister's taste. It seems that my sister & I are not used to enjoying completely raw beef, but are more suitable for seafood tartares such as salmon or tuna. Anyway, this is a quite unique dish, you can try it to see if it suits your taste. About Foiegwa's famous handmade truffle pasta, I was impressed with the natural flavor of the mushrooms combined with the rich cooking cream to create a smooth, attractive texture. The highlight is the truffle paste - a classy spice that brings a distinctive & passionate aroma. The price does not include 15% VAT & 25% tip. The total bill is nearly $110 for 2 people, which is too cheap for me - a delicious French restaurant, suitable for casual dining; at this price range, I believe that Foiegwa is absolutely a great choice.View more
Very noisy place for brunch. Everyone was sit tightly, everyone was looking for service but it's a mess. The brunch portion we had were very small, not worth the price at all. Btw, coffee was good but it came with a dirty mug.View more
The flavour & portion are not worth the price. I ordered a french toast & out came one medium sized brioche for 17.5$. The taste was good but wish there was more bread & cream. My friend had the shakshuka & said it was lacking spice.View more
Food was good for the price. Service was great, people were efficient & kind. The cocktails were good as well.View more
It's a really good place for having brunch or breakfast, the staff is so friendly & nice, & the portions are good for the price, I recommend the cold latte.View more
the $25 menu is a good price but the food is mehh.View more
The food was delicious The prices were affordableView more
Foiegwa has seen better days. Food was decent & the prices are reasonable, but there's sufficiently compelling to attract a regular dinner crowd. Staff are going through the motions.View more
Hands down the best Caesar salad I've ever had at a restaurant! The risotto was incredible I love the citrus vibe & crunchy parm. The scallops could have been cooked a little less . My partner loved the braised beef the most . Would definitely recommend for an intimate date night spot. Great customer service & reasonable pricesView more
19.25$ for one slice of french toas! With a puff of cream on top & maple syrup on the side. Nothing else! WOW that's abusing. Might as well charge the whole 20$ while you're there. My father ordered that & got an empty dish with just a slice of bread, you would expect a side of fruits... maybe 2 slices... I don't know something else. Even if it was the best french toast in Montreal, which it isn't. .. I only realized after finishing our meal that this was the price. I told the waiter, & he said, "Well, it's a thick slice of bread"... lol. Not going back for sure.View more
Tried the late night special. After 9pm, $25 for 3 courses plus deals on drink. Very good but not their best dishes. Understandably so given the price. Wife had the beef, not part of special deal but tasted real nice. Perfect service & nice ambiance.View more
Spaghetti with truffle oil: I've been coming here mutliple times for the truffle spaghetti & each time it is super good. Very simple yet good dish. But also pretty expensive since the price went up. Update: the truffle has gotten more subtle, which is a bummer. This dish is worth it if you take the 25$ 3-course menu after 21h00. Remoulade de celeri: coleslaw style type of salad made with celeri. Dish is okay, but inconsistent. Mine was quite sour, I had to add salt. My husband's was midly bland. Cheesecake: very soft & creamy, but it tasted like cream cheese with just a sprinkle of sugar. Not cakey enough. The tartare: was properly seasonned, but doesn't come with anything like bread or croutons. Fries: Best fries ever. Not oily, stayed crunchy the whole meal & perfectly seasonned with bbq powder & salt. Came with the beef tartare. Beef tartare with black truffle: I don't know of they forgot the truffle or not, but I didn't taste it at all. I could see small truffle flakes but not tasteany truffle. The tartare was also pretty tasteless even with the chips. Had to add some salt. The chips were good & crunchy. Oysters: Took the 6 pieces oysters. Fresh, incredibly small. I don't eat oysters often so I wasn't sure what size to expect at a restaurant. To me it's small compared to the one I buy at home. Overall, food is okay, service is good & very fast, beautiful place. They blasted the AC despite it being already cold, so me & my friend had to keep our coats on (& other clients too). Only come here if you have money to splurge. The portions are very tiny & the price has risen in the last couple of years. The star of the night are the spaghetti & the fries. We were hungry again after.View more
Amazing atmosphere. Small, private restaurant. Beautiful decor. Food was delicious. Worth the price! The octopus was to die for!View more
A laid back spot that's great for a date or just a casual hangout with a couple of friends. It's not big, & would probably be best for parties of 4 max. The plates are small & meant to be shared, but price-wise could quickly add up, so don't come too hungry. I really enjoyed the truffle spaghetti.View more
Good appetizers, highly recommend frog legs. Drinks were very good too, both taste & presentation-wise. Pasta felt very anticlimactic, wouldn't order again. Atmosphere of a diner, good if you like cozy. Prices are a bit high for the portion size IMOView more
I honestly loved this place. Just maybe a few tweaks would it make it even better. For one...I know it's a brunch service but the portions could be a little bigger. My pasta for example was $28 & though very delightful & very flavorful, was really small for such a price. & the salad as well..I'm not a big guy but I'm a man. I need more than four forks full of arugula & greens. Overall experience was good for me & my date but honestly, I think she ordered what I should've 🤣View more
The truffle spaghetti was good, but the portion was pretty small, especially for the price. They don't have foie gras anymore, & I mainly came for that. I get the animal rights thing, but I mean, your restaurant is named after it? Maybe rename? Lastly they asked me if I wanted water or sparlking, & didn't tell me that sparkling water would cost $6.5. That came as a surprise on the bill. Overall I guess it's still good food, but slightly disappointing in the serviceView more
