Foiegwa presents an unapologetic interpretation of French culinary traditions fused with high-calorie comfort food staples. The menu centers on classic bistro fare, characterized by rich preparations like signature foie gras, escargot, and steak frites. A standout feature remains the heavy, indulgent burger that balances traditional butchery with an elevated, buttery decadence. The interior environment channels the aesthetic of a classic Parisian haunt, utilizing a narrow, packed layout that emphasizes intimacy and constant movement. Mirrors and brass accents define the space, creating a dense, high-energy atmosphere that rejects minimalism in favor of maximalist flavor profiles. Guests encounter a straightforward approach to execution where ingredient quality dictates the composition of every dish. This establishment prioritizes consistent, robust portions that favor saturation and classic technique over modern, light-handed culinary trends.
Foiegwa offers a charming and cozy bistro atmosphere in Montreal that consistently impresses diners with its refined French-inspired menu and vibrant energy. Many guests highlight the exceptional truffle spaghetti, decadent foie gras, and standout cocktails as must-try items, often praising the quality and presentation of the dishes. While the space is intimate and can occasionally feel crowded or lively, the charismatic and attentive service generally enhances the experience, making it a popular destination for both casual brunches and celebratory evening meals. The late-night set menu is frequently noted as an excellent value, ensuring that this stylish spot remains a top recommendation for locals and visitors alike.
The food quality was really lacking for the price paid - the French onion soup was poorly seasoned & had bad tasting cheese, the Cesar used meat that we could tell was previously frozen, & the pate was just bad. The cocktails were good, though
I went here alone for brunch! Service is nice! I enjoyed chicken (on the waffle), it was so crispy & yummy ! It was amazing because the maple syrup was thick brown, but delicious ! (It was first time to see that type of maple syrup) Generally, everything is basic :)
I have come to thos place for some time & this las time I was really disappointed with the quality of the food.
The tartare was 1/3 smaller than before & you could barely taste the truffle. As well, now it is paired with some Baggett such a downgrade from the waffle chips.
As for the spaghetti, again, you couldn't taste the truffle... it was just an ordinary alfledo sauce from the supermarket.
The service & the personnel were fantastic!
Quite disappointed to be honest with the quality of the food ... & prices are higher.
Disappointing. The house Old Fashioned was poorly mixed & lacked the essential cherry. Fried chicken was tasty but very little sauce & no vegetables or anything to go with it. Pot au feu contained very little meat, overcooked vegetables & did not have the standard pearl onions. A cute restaurant but not a great dining experience.
Très belle expérience. Nourriture excellente !
Merci ! On y reviendra.
I was rather shocked,I was in the area ,& hungry ,So I said Let's go to la Belle Province..... Well What a great surprise when we entered New Year's Day ..... What a treat ....My ,mom ,sister , granddaughter & I had a delicious supper at a reasonable price..Great portions.....I am small so my granddaughter & I shared ....& I never seen her clear her plate in 5 years ....... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !!!!!!🙂⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I was coming back after a good experience a few years ago. Overall the menu was pretty boring, especially the limited & rather expensive choice of desserts. The amount of food was on the low side, which is fine if it was backed up by very good quality but it wasn't really the case. My duck was at best luckwarm when I got it. In the end, I was disappointed & found it too expensive for what you get.
