Great authentic food! Very worth it however it would be nice to say how spicy some plates are. I usually eat spicy but the food was even too spicy for me. Other than that very nice place.
The girl with the huge square glasses. Oh my oh my. The worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. The attitude, the entitlement, she should never work in a service industry. If you see her, say hi for me. If you don't, you're lucky.
There is usually a long wait here, but today there was none. The food is amazing & very high quality. The portions are large & prices are reasonable. Great atmosphere. Would highly recommend!
Shortly after eating the take out, I experienced a noticeably rapid heartbeat & eyelid twitching, which was unusual for me. I hadn't consumed any caffeine or energy drinks beforehand, so it raised concerns about whether certain additives or seasonings may have been used.
The physical reaction afterward was uncomfortable & concerning. I hope the restaurant can be more transparent about ingredients, especially additives or flavor enhancers. For health reasons, I don't plan to return for now, & I'd advise those who are sensitive to additives to be cautious
Every dish was far too salty, with the green beans practically inedible. Pricey but large volume. Polite staff, but obviously habituated to transacting entirely in Mandarin, as they don't bother calling out seating reservation numbers in French or English.
Great contemporary Sichuan food, lively & open late. Best in Montreal. Laziji, hot & sour potato slivers & xianshaobai are highlights. Stick to the classics.

I recently tried Flame du Sichuan in Montreal after hearing a lot of hype about it, but unfortunately my experience was very disappointing.
To start, we had to wait about 20 minutes outside just to be seated, which was already a bit frustrating. When we were finally brought in, we were seated right near the door, & every time it opened, cold air came in. I understand that restaurants get busy, especially popular ones, so this part was manageable, but it set the tone for the rest of the visit.
I was there with my family, & we specifically asked for non-spicy dishes. Despite that, the food that arrived was extremely spicy, to the point where it was difficult to eat & clearly not what we had requested. It felt like our request was ignored, which was disappointing given how clear we were when ordering.
The worst part of the experience, however, was related to food safety. I clearly told the staff that I am allergic to shrimp, yet when I started eating my stir-fried rice, my brother noticed a piece of shrimp in the dish. If he hadn't pointed it out in time, I could have ended up in the hospital. This is not a small mistake, it's a serious issue, especially for a restaurant that serves many customers with allergies.
Overall, the food was not worth the wait, the hype, or the price, & the lack of attention to dietary restrictions was extremely concerning. I was really hoping for a better experience, but sadly, I would not recommend this restaurant, especially to anyone with allergies or specific dietary needs.
Real trip! We had an experienced friend choosing dishes for us newbies in Sichuan. Ouch, i'm still not sure what happened, even if it actually happened, but i believw in tastebuds memories & this one is surely not going to fade out anytime soon.
Mouth-watering, almost out of body experience, special mention to the jacket baskets by the tables & of course:
the yuxiang eggplant, the chongqing chickend & the friendly service.
Amazing experience, came with our knowledgeable friend who knew the best dishes; my favourite was the yuxiang eggplant & lufa egg soup. Perfect level of spicy & very addictive flavors!
