Great seafood selection, from fresh oysters to grilled octopus! The after 9pm table d'hôte promotion is really worth, & allows you to try the delicious food selection on the menu! The service was also amazing & you have to try the pasteis de nata!View more

This is definitely a showcase restaurant for Portuguese seafood & cooking, from appetizers, main to desserts, it will brighten your day & will not disappoint. We went there as a party of three. We deliberately choose different items from the menu. We all decided to go back again for another time to have more.View more
We were guests at a private event in the open-kitchen dining room on the mezzanine. The staff at this fine-dining restaurant was outstanding. Once again, we were served by Fernando. Whenever Fernando was around, we dined splendidly. He had carte blanche for the amuses-bouches, appetizers, & dessert. As usual, he dazzled us with an array of starters: sardine filets, black cod cake, grilled squid, crispy octopus, smoked eggplant, Senhor José's homemade smoked salmon, &, not to be forgotten, the Joselito Ham which was incredibly delicious & melted in the mouth. For the main courses, my wife selected the "Porcini-crusted roasted black cod," while I opted for the filet mignon, which was perfectly cooked rare as requested, juicy with a crust. For the wine, I wanted to experience the wines from the owner's Portuguese vineyard. Fernando recommended a reserved bottle that was not listed on the menu. For dessert, we enjoyed the famous pastéis de nata, chocolate mousse, fartura de feira, & sorbet. To cap off the meal, we were treated to a complimentary shooter. The bill was considerably steep, but the meal was absolutely incredible & memorable.View more
Just wow! Unfortunately no photos, but had the sardines to start, perfectly cooked! Had the duck risotto, good lord it's outstanding, served in individual pots. Had an outstanding bottle of Portuguese red wine & finished with a beautiful glass of 10 year old port. Not cheap, but you pay for spectacular food, wine & educated & engaging staff.View more
It's an institution definitively worth trying when in montreal, especially there octopus(main dish). Nice variety of Portuguese wines,Tristan (sommelier) was very helpful. CheersView more
The scallop ceviche was phenomenal. Not a single miss on any of the dishes. This place will be a repeat destination for sure! The one mistake was not writing down whatever Portuguese wine I had...View more

Serviço do mais prestável e prático que já vi. Comida com ótima apresentaçao e sabor espetacular, a fazer justiça aos pratos portugueses. Altamente recomendado.View more
Rice & fish dish was absolutely excellent. Recommended Portuguese wine Aldeia just ok & not a $22 4 ounce wine. Fish & potatoes soup was just ok. The monk fish is a nice touch. They should serve it with a piece of bread. Fried app Octopus very well done. Went with my wife & two daughters. Ordered adult meals. My 13 year old was offered a seafood linguini. It arrived extremely spicy & inedible. She took 2 bites & stopped eating. I tried it & it was too spicey for me. Our kids are accustomed to spices & eat adult dishes. After some time they check in we asked for the dish without spice. We would have appreciated knowing it was an arrabiata when ordering in the first place. He made another & charged $45 for both the one thrown away & the second which she did enjoy. $90 dollar linguini with shrimp & scallops. It took away from an otherwise good experience. I don't mind paying $460 for 2 adults & 2 kids if we eat the food & enjoy it, but the wine & pasta was a mishap. We felt like the manager should have used better judgment. Not sure if we will go back.View more
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Dining at the Ferreira Cafe was an exquisite culinary experience from start to finish. The moment we stepped into the beautifully decorated establishment, we were greeted with warm & attentive service that set the tone for the evening. The seafood offerings were truly exceptional, with the blackened cod standing out as a masterpiece of flavor & presentation. Each bite was a delightful blend of perfectly balanced spices & melt-in-your-mouth tenderness, showcasing the chef's impeccable skill & passion for Portuguese cuisine. The ambiance of the Ferreira Cafe is equally impressive, combining sophisticated decor with a cozy & inviting atmosphere that made our dining experience truly memorable. The attention to detail in both the food & the surroundings is evident, creating a perfect harmony that elevates the entire dining experience. For anyone seeking an outstanding meal in an elegant setting, I highly recommend the Ferreira Cafe. It is a gem that promises an unforgettable culinary journey. We will undoubtedly be returning to savor more of their delectable dishes.View more
Not so familiar with Portuguese food, but I think that was a plus for us, everything we tried was a bit unexpected in addition to being expertly prepared & delicious. We had a lovely scallop ceviche that was nuanced, not the lime bomb you often get (which I also like!) Fish & seafood is the reason to come, but the carnivores will be pleased with the ribeye & other trad meat dishes. The bar was happening, the cocktails & mocktails were fun & tasty. Our server was a total pro. All around great dining experience.View more
Had dinner here last night on recommendations from a friend. Decor is awesome, very inviting. Waiter was knowledgeable & super helpful. Menu is Portuguese seafood oriented & small but many specials greatly expanded it. Wine list is impressive although not many bottles below $100. Had two restaurant standards: the black cod in port reduction & the bouillabaisse, both outstanding, accompanied by a slightly spicy dry Douro white wine. Pastais de nata for dessert that was better than what we found in Lisbon. Overall outstanding!View more
They serve wonderful Portuguese food in this upscale downtown restaurant. Excellent attentive service. Was not expecting that choice of music but good ambianceView more
We flew to Mtl from Toronto for my birthday in January. Made a reso & told them we're flying in to spend my bday dinner at Café Ferreira & it was fabulous! They wished me a happy birthday & were so sweet. We started with the grilled sardines (so yummy, we always have them) & a glass of champagne! Them moved on to the fish filet of the day (never dissapoints it was amazing) with the perfect Portuguese wine recommended by our wait person. & she surprised us with a selection of miniature version of their most popular desserts, on the house & more birthday wishes. This is THE best seafood restaurant in Mtl...I highly recommend it. The atmosphere is chic yet not intimidating at all, the food is fabulous & the service is exceptional! In a city where good food is the norm, Café Ferreira's food & service is hors pairs!View more
Great place for upscale Portuguese food! Place was packed so make a reservation. The Duck & mushroom risotto is so so good & a big portion! A bit on the pricey side but worth it.View more
My favorite restaurant in Montreal. Incredible selection of fresh fish, & our waiter was so helpful in describing them as well as a great recommendation for Portuguese wine. The atmosphere is vibrant but not noisy, & we could see both the fresh fish display & the open kitchen, A wonderful experience.View more
Insanely the best Portuguese restaurant in the city. Longest lasting, amazing staff, excellent service & the cuisine is just on a whole other level. If you haven't tried this place please do. The upscale vibe & setting makes it perfect for a fancy date night or a night out with the girlsView more
Food was absolutely phenomenal. The best Portuguese restaurant I’ve ever eaten at by far. Everything from the appetizer to dessert was delicious. The best service I’ve ever had. Our glasses never went empty. A huge thank you to our server Michael for going above & beyond. Can’t wait to go back.View more
One of our best Portuguese dinner ever. Rice with fruit du mer & grilled halibut were excellent. Expertly chosen Portuguese wines. Very good staff. However, its atmosphere on a Thursday evening (7pm) was horrible - sound proofing did not work well & the weird/loud/annoying music spoiled what could have been a fondly memorable dinner.View more
Amazing experience, as always. Loved the 2014 wine that the sommelier recommended. The catch of the day was prepared perfectly, the service was exceptional as well. The Portuguese dessert combo featured exquisite cakes. Will come again!
Delicious Portuguese food in a very inviting environment. Everything was delicious. Highly recommended.
Exquisite gourmet Portuguese food; impeccable & courteous service
Highly recommended
Greatest Portuguese restaurant in Montreal.
Been going there for the last 25 years.
Same consistent service, same consistent quality.
Its a Montreal must if you are visiting or just local.

I'm Portuguese visiting the city & of course we went to Ferreira. Good mix of ‘Portugal meets the world cuisine'. However for the Portuguese dishes on the menu & we do t regret at all. Excellent lagareiro octopus. Excellent wine menu. Execellent pastel de natas (felt like home in Lisbon). Excellent service. A must visit once you're in Montreal.
Beautiful downtown restaurant with well-prepared seafood. Many dishes are Portuguese.
