Fantastic chocolate shop! État de choc has a wonderful selection of artisanal bars. I highly recommend picking up the Soma Crazy 88 dark chocolate tablet if you love intense, complex flavors. The shop is beautiful, & the staff is very helpful. A must-visit in Montreal. Also there are in-house chocolates to die for, like the crunchy caramel if you are looking for a sweeter treat but watch out it's sooo good you might not be able to stop eating it.

INCROYABLE sur toute la ligne! Service attentionné, avec le soucis du détail qui fait toute la différence. Produits uniques, aussi beaux que bons! J'ai eu à faire préparer plus d'une douzaine de coffrets personnalisés en vue d'un voyage d'affaire de dernière minute en Asie & je recommande à 110% de visiter Etat de Choc pour des cadeaux gourmands qui sauront impressionner à tout coup! Merci Maud, merci l'équipe, pour le service rapide & efficace, & toutes les petites attentions que vous avez mis dans chaque cadeau! 🙌

Chocolate heaven! If you love chocolate as much as we do, État de choc is THE place to visit in Montréal. There is an embarrassment of chocolate riches in this city, but if you're looking for some of the best bar chocolate, start running. There are numerous local, Canadian artisans, including État de choc's own line (which is excellent!), as well as many international makers. All small batch, hand crafted with the utmost care & exceptional ingredients. They also have hot cocoa mixes & you can even create your own gift box of bars. The customer service is top notch as lovely Ella helped us navigate the store & the seemingly endless options. She was so knowledgeable & kind, providing many suggestions as she's tried almost all of the chocolate in the store. She's got the best job in the world! It was an exercise in self-control for us not to buy every bar, but a great excuse for us to stop by again. Highly recommend experiencing their beautiful store, it is a truly wonderful & experience! We can't wait to try more of their chocolate!🫶🏽🍫

highly recommend.
I just finished their Advent Calendar & I have to say it was spectacular (in terms of flavours, value, & it shipped well). Bonus: each day had 2 pieces of chocolate or enough hazelnut/pistachio butter for 2 servings, which made it easily shareable.
I liked their Advent Calendar much better than Soma Chocolatemaker's (which is what I had last year).

Various chocolate selections, some special flavors too. Highly recommended for chocolate lovers, also a great place to buy some souvenirs of Montreal. Owner is very sweet & nice!😊

I visited the shop today to purchase some chocolate & I was served by a very patient employee who was able to answer all my questions & more. I went in there searching for a gift & she took the time to explain to me all the different options from all the different regions.

As well as purchasing a gift I also opted to buy some chocolate for myself & I can say that it did not disappoint.

Definitely recommend to any chocolate
connoisseur &/or amateur!

Les personnes qui travaillent à cet endroit sont ultra serviables & vraiment connaisseurs / connaisseuses. On a pris le temps de m'expliquer le processus de fabrication des produits, mais aussi la provenance de ceux-ci & une partie de la philosophie derrière état de choc. Leurs chocolats sont exceptionnels. J'ai découvert leurs produits suite à la réception d'un cadeau par une de mes étudiantes. Je recommande d'essayer cet endroit, ça vaut le détour.
