Ok food fast in an ok atmosphere. Sit toward front to avoid fruit flies buzzing tables in back. Worst poutine in Montreal. Hard to disappoint with Poutine but Dunns dun it. Smoked meet was dry. Add sauerkraut or something to add necessary moisture
Poutine was quite underwhelming. Fries were soggy & room temp. Smoked meat was not impressive either. My friend also got the Dunn's famous pasta which was meh but then again why would anyone go to Dunn's for pasta?

This place was decent. I enjoyed the interior, adorned with numerous photos depicting the history of Dunn's business-it felt like a journey through time. The service was excellent; the servers were kind & attentive. The food arrived quickly &, while tasty, it wasn't particularly outstanding. A previous review mentioned the bun being dry, which I found to be true, & there wasn't much meat in the sandwich. The sweet potato fries were inconsistent, with some flavorful & others bland. This was my first time in Montreal & at this restaurant. While I would consider returning, there are definitely better options available.
We ate here twice during our trip to Montreal in April 2024 & Dunn's is consistently fantastic. REAL French fries & piled high Montreal smoked meat with mouthwatering side of fresh Cole slaw & a giant juicy pickle. Holy moly! What a delight! Our servers were excellent during both visits.

I am not too impressed with the Dunn's on Decarie & the one in Laval, but this Dunn's on Metcalfe (which is the original one) continues to be really top (superb smoked meat, superb service, superb ambience). I was there again last night & it keep shining on all fronts (the service was again great & efficient, the ambience too, the "petit combo" sandwich dazzled, etc.
A visit to Montreal isn't complete without eating at a smoked meat restaurant. Dunn's is one of the originals, dating back to 1927. Their slow-cooked brisket is delicious: well-flavoured with an almost crumbly texture. Perfect. We had their smaller option, as this was lunch. Perfect size & perfectly delicious. We are moving on from Montreal tomorrow, so a visit to Dunn's was the ideal lunch to finish our visit here. I chose: - Le Petit Combo: our small sandwich served on rye bread with homemade fries, coleslaw & dill
We tried Dunn's for the first time & the service was impeccably fast. The host was patient with us as well. Although we ordered take-out, the place had a nice ambiance with lots of seating. We got poutine as well as the smoked meat sandwich. We also ordered the Dunn's famous smoked meat poutine & the smoked meat burger. The smoked meat poutine was covered in smoked meat & packed with flavour. There was a perfect ratio of cheese curds to gravy to fries as well. The smoked meat burger did not quite live up to our expectations. The burger patty itself was dry & there was only a few slices of smoked meat. On the other hand, the smoked meat sandwich was great! Highly recommend. If you're ever in Montreal, definitely hit up this spot.
One of my favorite spots to eat before going to a hockey at the Bell Center that is a 5 minute walk from Dunn's. A real smoke meat sandwich compared to what they serve at the Bell Center.
Dining at Dunn's was an amazing experience, the food was so delicious. The service was great & I loved the atmosphere & old style decor, like going back in time. Amazing place
Dunn's smoked meat was the best we had in all of Montréal. We tried all of the big spots & while they were all great (really good stuff), Dunn's had the best balance of flavor, juiciness, & tenderness. The restaurant itself has a cool old school feel to it. The menu has a ton of variety as well. We had the giant smoked meat sandwich & regular poutine & it was all awesome. Food came out super fast, service was great!

Very disappointed server talked alot but did not understand English that well. Smoked meat came on seperate plate in stead of between bread. Meat was also thick & very wet.Not good Management check out your Dunns on decarie. Learn from this place where food & service is excellent.
You can’t go wrong. One of the classic landmarks in Montreal food. Whether for a quick bite or a late night meal, Dunn’s always delivers. Don’t both with anything else but the smoked meat. Other stuff might be good, but the smoked meat is the highlight. Oh, & order a black cherry pop.
We were looking for the Montreal smoked meat experience while downtown & we found Dunn’s. Saturday evening & the place was hopping. We were a group of four but the wait was no more than 10 minutes.
Had to try the Dunn’s Famous poutine & added sautéed mushrooms & onions. Did not disappoint, the meal was excellent & our server was super friendly!
I haven't been to Dunn's in over 40 years, but on a trip back to Montreal last week I took my husband. The food & service were as excellent as I remembered! Delicious!
Dunn's est le style de restaurant où je vais y manger le soir/nuit à la sortie des bars ou d'une fête. La poutine Dunn's (au smoked meats) est ma préférée de loin. Nous la prenons à deux puisqu'elle est très grosse. J'aime vraiment leur viande. & les smoked meats sont toujours bons. Le service est correct (ils sont très souvent débordés le soir). À essayer!
