I've been coming here for years & always experiencing the same issues.
First of all, the blond hostess is really unprofessional, unhappy, doesn't greet costumers & many more. The rest of the staff 4/10 everyone looks unhappy, I would ask for something I would either not get it or having to wait ages to get it, terrible service😞.
Unfortunately won't be returning here & wouldn't recommend!!!
I would have took a photo but I ate it so quick, had the Reuben & fries, unreal & really filling. Super good snack spot I wish I had more time to try the other items.
Steve was my server & he's a beauty. Would recommend!

This or Schwartz's? Followed the recommendation of a native of Montreal & tried Dunns. The smoked meat is delicious, just the right amount of tender, fat, & seasoning. The bread can't handle the meat but who cares! Lots of mustard, coleslaw & a dill pickle makes this an unforgettable lunch. & of course the poutine was Devine! Strongly recommend. No nonsense service & a staple of Montreal's food culture.
Je connais ce restaurant depuis des décennies & je le recommandais à mes amis en visite à Montréal. Je n'y étais pas retourné depuis quelque temps. Quelle déception! La qualité s'est beaucoup dégradée. Le pain, la viande, même le cornichon… tout était mauvais, plat, ordinaire. & que dire du prix! La première option est à 22$. Le sandwhich est offert en combo seulement, fini le sandwhich seul ni bien sûr l'option d'un demi-sandwhich. Pour remplacer les frites du combo par une poutine, il nous en a coûté 15 $! Au moins la poutine, elle, était décente. Le menu s'est beaucoup diversifié, le smoked meat est noyé dans toutes sortes de choses; une page entière est consacrée aux cocktails. C'est devenu un resto-bar pour les clients du Centre Bell. Seul le cadre a conservé son charme, le service étant tout juste correct. Bref, si vous cherchez un endroit pour déguster un authentique sandwhich au smoked meat, fuyez celui-ci!
I ordered the Reuben & a poutine, both were perfectly smoky & delicious! The staff were friendly & respectful, & the service was great. Highly recommend DUNN'S for anyone craving quality smoked meat.
I had an absolutely fantastic dining experience at Dunn's Famous, & I can't recommend this place enough! From the moment we sat down, our waiter, Marvin, made the meal truly memorable. His service was nothing short of exceptional-friendly, attentive, & incredibly efficient. Marvin's warm & welcoming demeanor instantly put us at ease, making the entire experience feel personal & special.
Not only was Marvin quick to ensure our orders were taken & delivered promptly, but he also went above & beyond with his spot-on recommendation of the smoked meat sandwich (Reuben)
Let me tell you, it was a game-changer! The sandwich was perfectly prepared, with tender, flavorful smoked meat piled high, served with just the right balance of mustard & pickles. It's clear why Dunn's Famous is renowned for this dish-it was hands-down one of the best I've ever had.
Tried the poutine here & it was absolutely amazing! The fries were crispy, the cheese curds were fresh & squeaky, & the gravy was rich & full of flavor. A true Canadian classic done perfectly! Highly recommend if you're craving comfort food.
Absolutely delicious! I had the famous sandwich & it truly exceeded my expectations - the meat was so tender it literally melted in my mouth. The experience totally worth it, especially if you're visiting Montreal & want to try something local & satisfying. *Highly recommended* - this place deserves the hype. *Must-try spot* if you love classic deli flavors done right!
Outstanding smoked meat sandwich 👌 I personally recommend getting it medium (vs lean) as the meat will just melt in your mouth 🤤 also, I didn't get the combo as an 8 oz sandwich is more than enough for everyday adults 😉 highly recommend to anyone looking for the real deal!

Exactly what you want from a diner spot - great food, fountain drinks, & friendly service! As a Chicagoan I felt right at home at this place - highly recommend!
Perfect destination for visitors to the city to try Montreal smoked meat. Perfect diner vibes, comforting food that was very tasty & fresh. Service was friendly & down to earth. The fries are unique & scrumptious. Highly recommend their famous strawberry cheesecake, made fresh in-house. It is GIRTHY. One piece is perfect to share. I will be back!
I really like a smoke, but when I am in Montréal, I go to Dunn's Famous for my smoke meat fix. Great atmosphere & service. I had the super combo, smoke meat sandwich, fries, & coleslaw. Everything was excellent on my plate. I recommend Dunn's Famous.
We were recommended to stop at Dunn's by the hotel staff, & we're so glad we did! Dunn's offers a wide selection of food items, & we decided to try the poutine & egg rolls. When the food arrived, I initially thought it might be too salty, but I was pleasantly surprised! The dishes were incredibly flavorful, fresh, & perfectly balanced. We were delighted with our meal & the overall experience. We can't wait to go back!
