I visited Montreal this past weekend & our group ate at Dunn's after our Saturday night game. The food was delicious, quickly served (hot). Our host Steve was amazing. He definitely made sure we were taken care of ...fantastic hospitalty.

I had an absolutely fantastic dining experience at Dunn's Famous, & I can't recommend this place enough! From the moment we sat down, our waiter, Marvin, made the meal truly memorable. His service was nothing short of exceptional-friendly, attentive, & incredibly efficient. Marvin's warm & welcoming demeanor instantly put us at ease, making the entire experience feel personal & special.
Not only was Marvin quick to ensure our orders were taken & delivered promptly, but he also went above & beyond with his spot-on recommendation of the smoked meat sandwich (Reuben)
Let me tell you, it was a game-changer! The sandwich was perfectly prepared, with tender, flavorful smoked meat piled high, served with just the right balance of mustard & pickles. It's clear why Dunn's Famous is renowned for this dish-it was hands-down one of the best I've ever had.

Very good smoked meat experience. Roughly comparable to Schwartz's in terms of quality, with a fraction of the crowds. Service was quick & the servers were attentive. The sandwich was spot-on, but the fries were a bit stale.

This was our first stop after a 7hr car ride. We stopped by around 2pm on a Friday & we were seated immediately. Service was good, knowledgeable, quick, efficient. The food was good, but nothing special. Considering their smoked meat was highly suggested, I was expecting it to be out of this world. I had the smoked meat poutine as I tried to kill two birds with one stone, & maybe that was the wrong dish to order. It was just okay. Large portion, but not bursting with flavor. It was also served lukewarm.
I'd come back if I'm ever in the area again, but will definitely try something else.

Easily the best smoked meat I've ever had. Not overly salty but still adequately seasoned & succulent. Don't underestimate the size of the sandwiches as the smoked meat comes in a generous stack! The poutine was okay, but the root beer (racinette) was too sweet for my liking. Excellent service & food arrived very quickly.

Service was excellent, food was served quickly & was hot. My only complaint was the bathroom. Let's just say it needs attention (& the ability to lock the stall door).

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Dunn's in Montreal, & it was a fantastic experience! The smoked meat sandwich was perfectly seasoned & piled high, just as I had hoped. The service was quick & friendly, making me feel right at home. The cozy atmosphere added to the charm, & I appreciated the attention to detail in both the food & the overall experience. If you're in Montreal & craving an authentic smoked meat sandwich, Dunn's is the place to go. Highly recommend!

Great menu. Food comes out quickly. Somewhat of a Montreal icon. Reasonable prices. Hours have changed. Years ago it was a 24 hour operation. Today it's 11 am - 5 am so it is closed 6 hours of the day but I certainly don't blame them. Prices have held up good over the years.

Good dive bar styled chain poutine spot. My first stop in Montreal downtown the last few trips to get my smoked meat poutine bearings straight to begin trying other local spots. There are many better places out there, but this is always right near where I stay & part of my "get supplies for the weekend" run after I get off the plane. Quick beer & meal & then off to the rest of the trip.

This place was decent. I enjoyed the interior, adorned with numerous photos depicting the history of Dunn's business-it felt like a journey through time. The service was excellent; the servers were kind & attentive. The food arrived quickly &, while tasty, it wasn't particularly outstanding. A previous review mentioned the bun being dry, which I found to be true, & there wasn't much meat in the sandwich. The sweet potato fries were inconsistent, with some flavorful & others bland. This was my first time in Montreal & at this restaurant. While I would consider returning, there are definitely better options available.
