I dropped by after attending a bar nearby with a group of friends. We were a big group of 12 people & they had space for us. I liked their smoked meat sandwiches as I had Le Petit Combo which is quite a lot for $22.95 CAD + $3.75 CAD. However, other smoked meat places usually ask if we want half, no fat, or really fatty smoked meat, but Dunn's give you half, which is a bummer. I wished they can ask our smoked meat options. However, I enjoyed my stay at the resto. Not too salty & loved their coleslaw with smoke meat. I'd recommend coming here for a quick bite.

Montréal is the smoked meat capital of the world, & there are a few iconic places to get a Montréal Smoked Meat Sandwich.

Dunn's is one of those!

This is a very cool, very hip place, & serves massively large Sandwiches with great fries.

Pair them with a cherry coke & you have heaven.

I want to go here everytime I am in Montréal.

I heard that this place has a reputation for the best smoked meat soni had to try it. It was very good. Thick sliced & very tasty. Service was excellent as I got there just before noon when it got busy. I would say the sandwich was 4.5. I couldn't quite give it a 5 since I've been to katz deli in New York & that was the best I've had but dunns is right up there

Dunn's always hits the spot whenever we're in Montreal! We always make sure to stop by when we're in the area for their smoked meat plate & poutine. Both are so good & never disappoint.

It was pretty busy inside when we visited, but the service was still fast & friendly. Definitely one of our go-to spots whenever we're in Montreal!

We love you Dunn's!!!!

The smoked meat sandwich was to die for. So flavorful & hefty. We got it medium (a little bit of fat) & it was superb. It was not overly fatty & was melt in your mouth. The fries, coleslaw & pickle were equally as great.

you MUST try their black cherry cola. It is absolutely heavenly!!!!!

Was in Montreal from Winnipeg, heard Dunn's was the place to go for sandwiches & poutine. They did not disappoint. Our waiter was super helpful & made a suggestion that was bang on to what I wanted. Thanks Dunn's & I'll be back.

First time in Montreal, & Dunn's Famous was highly recommended to me for its iconic smoked meat sandwich & poutine. The atmosphere was great, & the service was friendly & attentive.

Unfortunately, the food didn't quite live up to my expectations. It was my first time trying the smoked meat sandwich & poutine, & while neither was bad, I personally found them a little underwhelming & not as special as I had expected.

I'm glad I gave it a try, but based on my experience, I probably wouldn't go back.

If you are looking for an authentic taste of Montreal's famous smoked meat history, Dunn's Famous delivers a wonderfully nostalgic experience.
During my recent visit, the star of the show was undoubtedly the classic smoked meat. The grilled meat arrived tender, juicy, & perfectly spiced, melting in the mouth with every bite. It is exactly what you hope for when visiting a legendary local deli. While the Cajun chicken was unfortunately a bit overcooked & dry, the meal quickly rebounded with the French onion soup. It was excellent, featuring a rich, savory broth & a perfectly melted layer of cheese.
The service was another high point of the evening. The staff was attentive & welcoming, operating with an efficiency that was well above average for a busy downtown spot.
What truly sets this location apart, however, is the fantastic restaurant ambience. The space captures a great retro feeling that transports you back in time. The interior design elements pair beautifully with the soundtrack of 80's music playing in the background, creating a fun, relaxed, & upbeat vibe. It is the perfect backdrop for a casual dinner with friends or a late-night comfort food craving.
Despite a minor hiccup with the chicken, the combination of spectacular smoked meat, top-tier service, & a nostalgic atmosphere makes Dunn's Famous a must-visit staple in Montreal.
