The service was 1A very kind waitress & all staff…. But this is an overrated resto, we paid 38 +tax for a hamburguer that the chef forgot to put the onion… same taste & more vegetables at Macdonalds… an almost $60 for a stake that was'well done' but ordered medium.
The pastries save the day… mother's day
& they are petfriendly thats a staVoir plus
Ordered a simple macchiato , they gave me a very tall coffee Americano style which was clear in color , I let the waitress know this was not what I ordered (their coffee is almost 7$ + , should be decent & correct) , no one seemed to understand what it is I ordered however it is on the menu , took 3 attempts until I just asked for a regular espresso. Pastries ordered were not what was received , it is as if the waitress just decided what we should order, they pastries are surely frozen & cooked on site because they are terrible. . Bill was 70$ for 1 tea , 3 pastries & an espresso. Would not recommend.Voir plus
I have come here several times & I'm extremely disappointed with the service. The staff at the cash usually acts like they have something better to do, & look irritated.
The pastries are extremely overrated, & extremely overpriced for what it is. There are other bakeries, just a few steps away that have much better service, & much better food, for a better price point.Voir plus
food & pastries nothing special, not that fresh, but too expensiveVoir plus
I had reservations on a Saturday morning. Our table was ready for us when we arrived. The restaurant was easy to find & paid street parking was available. The menu is the perfect size. A variety of options but not too big or too many choices. We got the déjeuner du chef & le Québécois. The fruit selection was great & ripe. The quesadillas were my favorite park. I wouldn't mind some more drink options for breakfast, like smoothies or shakes. The staff was very friendly & attentive, we just found the service a tad slow. I think the waitress we had was the only one working a full floor. We also purchased some pastries from the counter which we took home & ate later one. They were great, no complaints there. Overall, we very much enjoyed our time here & would definitely consider coming back.Voir plus
Service is great but the food is mediocre. Definitely NOT the best French brunch or the best french pastries in Montreal. Lemeac & Chez Potier are much better options but I guess not "tiktok" popular.Voir plus
Duc de Lorraine offers a delightful escape to France without ever leaving the city. The ambiance is cozy yet elegant, with charming decor that instantly sets the mood for a Parisian experience. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the pastries. Their croissants are buttery, flaky perfection, & the selection of desserts is nothing short of exquisite. Pairing these with their rich, smooth coffee makes for a divine treat. Service is warm & attentive, adding to the overall experience. While prices are on the higher side, the quality & authenticity of the food justify it. Highly recommended!Voir plus
The food is ok, but the tables are too small. You barely have room to move. In my opinion, they have room to improve their pastries.Voir plus
High-quality food & plenty of pastries make this a must-visit brunch spot in Montreal! The staff are professional. It gets quite crowded on weekends, so waiters might occasionally forget small details in your order. The prices are on the higher side for brunch-imagine paying $8 for a latte!" When you're sitting in front of Saint Joseph oratory you should order Saint Joseph it is a Benedict, bagel topped with salmon & cream cheese, comes with a bowl of fruit.Voir plus
It was our first visit & we don't speak much French, & everyone in the restuarant was very gracious, welcoming & patient. The pastries were amazing! :)Voir plus
I really enjoyed every pastries there, I would just love them to be made freshVoir plus
The place was great, with lots of food options-all of which looked so good that it made choosing tricky! The food we ordered was excellent: we had the steak Benedict, salmon Benedict, & Florentine omelette, along with some pastries to try, all of which we thoroughly enjoyed. I couldn't recommend just one thing, as everything was fantastic. The service was also great, though there was a delay in seating us due to a system error. However, they quickly seated us at a convenient table, & the service was excellent from then on. 😊Voir plus
Very overrated, too expensive. I can the same quality of french pastries at half the price. This review was based only on sweet treats & no hot food.Voir plus
Vast selection of pastries & viennoiseries, watch out, priced on the expensive side.Voir plus
5 stars! My go-to breakfast spot! This beloved Montreal pastry shop & café (since 1952!) never disappoints. Their bakery & pastries are divine, but the real showstopper is their custom birthday cakes , truly exceptional! The combination of traditional charm & mouthwatering treats makes this place truly special. Whether you're celebrating a birthday or just starting your day, this pastry shop is a must-visit destination. Highly recommend. (Photo by @behnooshtz)Voir plus
Delicious pastries, Very good quality ingredients. Nice service & great atmosphere on the terrace.Voir plus
The food was overpriced & the service wasn't great. They spilled water everywhere on us & they did not care about all the bees that were sitting on their pies. Their crème brûlée was quite delicious though. I would only return to buy pastries to go, but would not return to dine in.Voir plus
Awesome pastries & coffee. Claudia, Iris & the rest of the staff bring good joy & vibes to the restaurant! All with a great view of Saint Joseph's OratoryVoir plus
We traveled all the way from Ontario to try their square croissant & I must say that it was all worth it. Souna greeted us & helped us & Iris took over. They were both amazing. Iris was very welcoming & friendly. The pastries were delectable, exquisite & heavenly!!! 😍🔥 Would I drive again to Montreal? Absolutely 💯Voir plus
The place is great & service feels like a high end Parisienne experience, with white glove service! I just find it's expensive for what it is. The brunch was very tasty but spending $40 on eggs just doesn't seem worth it to me. As for all other pastries, they looked delicious, ambiance is great & service was impeccable ! It's a nice overall experience.Voir plus
Searching for delicious pastries? Duc de Lorraine is your place! I fell in love with the raspberry cream filled croissant & the macarons. Perfect brunch spot with an awesome view of the oratory!Voir plus
The quality of the food was amazing. You can't go to this place without trying one of their pastries. Our server, Andrew, is made for this job. He has amazing customer service. We had an amazing time at Duc de Lorraine. A must try for your montreal visit!Voir plus
I have been fortunate to receive as a gift recently, the most delicious pastries from this renown bakery! They are indeed scrumptious & yummy next day too. This location is a gem, it's the heart of the Cote des Nieges area, & it has the highest quality pastries that never disappoint👍. I have been a client myself for 50 years...picking up baked goods & delicious quiches since my early 20's. Everything is exceptional! I have lunched on their terrace with friends &, I have enjoyed coffee hour there too. A visit is essential whether you are a tourist or a local, or traveling through the area, heading to the multiple surrounding tourist areas in the vicinity. Do stop in!Voir plus
I was really excited to try the place but I was a bit disappointed. The staff is friendly & the pastries are tempting & presentable. They do have the viral pastries like the cookie croissant. It is also kids friendly, they provide crayons for them to draw on the table paper. We ordered a butter croissant ($5.25) & pistachio New York roll ($11.25). However, the taste was below average & it was overpriced almost double the other cafes & bakeries. Also, the dine-in prices are higher than the take out prices. The pistachio decoration & filling were disappointing & tasted artificial. It seems they use artificial flavoring & coloring for them.Voir plus
delicious pastries! the terrasse was very cute & the service was amazing! cutest place for catching up with friends 🩷Voir plus
I dont know of many places you can sip a coffee with wonderful pastries & a staff that is so attentive in a location like this. Clear 5 stars & if there was a 6th star Id give it. Thanks for your service AndrewVoir plus
Bakery Duc de Loraine offers a delightful array of French pastries & breads, known for their authentic taste & quality. I rave about their croissants & specialty cakes, making it a must-visit for pastry enthusiasts in the area.Voir plus
overpriced brunch food, underseasoned omelet, good croque monsieur & pastries, sat next to the bathroom. they have a 31$ avocado toast on the menu which is insane. mediocre cappucinoVoir plus
