Dorsia offers a warm & welcoming atmosphere, with the entire staff contributing to an excellent experience. The host was friendly & pleasant, & our waiter, Guillaume, was attentive & demonstrated impressive knowledge of the menu.
We began with beef tartare & tuna carpaccio as entrées, both fresh, flavorful, & beautifully presented. For mains, we ordered the lobster ravioli & lamb, each cooked to perfection, rich in flavor, & artfully plated. The strawberry tart for dessert was a standout, though the entire meal was consistently excellent.
The wine list is well curated, & while we did not try any cocktails, the options looked appealing.
The décor is elegant, with great attention to detail, & the music selection was spot on, even featuring two of my personal favorites. I look forward to returning annd to explore their basement bar in the future.
Verdict: A definite must-try.
Dorsia is a highlight around Old Montreal. Despite not having been open that long, it is already on the Michelin Guide, & it isn't without reason. The food is arguably better than other restaurants with stars. The decoration & atmosphere is stunning. The service was amazing from what I observed at our table, & others. The food was very tasty & healthy, & the plating speaks for itself. We went for lunch, their set menu was well priced. Compared to Michelin star restaurants, the only real difference was the ceramics & silverware, but I would choose Dorsia any day over other restaurants with stars within the city. I almost never write reviews, but Dorsia deserves one without reservation.
An amazing experience, from the hostess to the waiters to the sommelier who was brought over even though we asked for a wine by the glass, we were completely taken care of & blown away by the service, not to mention the food which was spectacular. They even gave us some small cakes (mignardises) to bring back to my wife at home, on the house. Kudos to everyone!
I love Dorsia & I immediately feel transported from Montreal when I enter this restaurant. Vibe, music & food are so elevated & really makes me feel like I'm in a fancy new york restaurant without any pretentiousness. Highly recommend!
Super service par Guillaume ! Très professionnel, merci ! À bientôt :)
Merci Guillaume & tout le staff! Vraiment très bon & très bien reçu!!!!!
Don't understand how this made it into their Michelin Guide. Came in for lunch & every item disappointed.
I've heard great things, but it's impossible to get a reservation here, unless, of course, you're friends with Paul Allen.
I had an incredible evening at Dorsia, hands down one of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, elegant, & inviting. But what truly elevated the night was the outstanding service we received from Ben, our waiter.
Even though he was juggling a few large groups, Ben made us feel like we were his top priority. He was attentive without being intrusive, & his energy & kindness truly set the tone for a special evening. From start to finish, he took care of every detail with a genuine smile & made us feel so welcome.
The food? Absolutely amazing. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared & bursting with flavor. You can tell the kitchen team takes real pride in what they do. What also stood out was how knowledgeable the entire staff was about the menu. They answered every question with confidence & gave recommendations that hit the mark perfectly.
Another highlight of the night was the sommelier, who knows his craft. He helped us choose the perfect wine to pair with our meal, not only matching the flavors beautifully but also enhancing the entire dining experience with his passion & insight.
Dorsia is a place that not only serves exceptional food but also creates a memorable experience through top-tier service, ambiance, & expertise. Can't wait to go back!
Incredible chefs menu. The wine pairings could not have been better. Y'all need to help out that som & get him a new wine cellar door, though! Iykyk
french & italian-influenced dishes with quebec sourced ingredients! perfect attentive service, chic ambiance, & the best bucatini & whole butterfly bass I've ever eaten 💛 the entire experience was chef's kiss! my favorites were:
•bucatini
•lobster ravioli
•caesar
•butterfly whole bass
•roasted mushroom ragout
Very pleasant & welcoming service from the whole staff.
Lobster ravioli, eel & four gras appetizer, & crudo, Maple Forest dessert, & chocolate dessert were all delicious & well presented. The rhubarb send-off dessert was also great.
I think a little more effort could have been put into the presentation of the cavatelli but it was a good portion at least & my friend seemed to enjoy it.
My aviation was a little more sour that it should be but when I mixed the bottom a bit, it wasn't bad. The wine recommendation was perfect.
Decor is gorgeous. Loved that the waiter confirmed that the name is an American Psycho reference. Great retro music. Played two of my favourite Madonna songs. Look forward to checking out their basement bar at some point.
Food was great. Service was incredible & our server was incredibly friendly & personable. One of the best old fashioned's I've ever had. Duck crown was definitely the highlight of the meal, although the rest of the food was still very good too. Tiramisu was also fantastic.
However, the only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that we had an incredibly long wait for our entrees to come out. I understand that grand prix weekend is an incredibly busy time but maybe the restaurant needs to manage bookings accordingly... Maybe it should be harder to get a reservation at dorsia!
All in all I would absolutely return & recommend it.... Just maybe not during GP weekend!
