A spacious & comfortable spot that is perfect for catching up with friends over Thai food. We ordered the mango salad, green curry with chicken, & beef pad thai. The service was attentive & genuinely friendly, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Would definitely return to explore more of the menu.
Loved DEK SEN what a nice little culinary trip to Thailand right in the heart of montreal. Authentic & flavourful food. Loved the Panang, absolutely mouth watering! The little hints of lemon grass had me wanting more. The salt & pepper shrimp on their specials where so crispy & well seasoned. Lets not forget the thai tea, so fresh & perfect amount of sweetness. If i had any positive criticism I'd say the papaya salad lacked a bit of heat. I loved my experience & would definitely return. Thank you for having me :)

Absolutely Fantastic Experience at DEKSEN!
Everything from the food to the service was top-notch. We ordered the papaya salad, gyoza, crispy wings, shrimp pad see ew (with that unmistakable wok hei flavor!), crispy shrimps with tamarind sauce & braised beef PANANG curry - each dish was flavorful, fresh, & beautifully presented. The natural coconut water was the perfect refreshing touch to balance the spices.
Service was timely, & the staff were warm, attentive, & friendly throughout our meal. You can really feel the care & authenticity in both the food & the atmosphere. Highly recommend DEKSEN for anyone craving real Thai food done right. We'll definitely be back! 🌶?🇹🇭🥥
La nourriture est très bonne. J'ai beaucoup aimé le pad thai & les drunken noodles qui est très épicé. La salade de papaye est très bonne & la salade de mangue est juste correcte. Le meilleur thai iced tea que j'ai gouté. Le personnel est très gentil & patient. C'est certain que j'y retournerai.
This is one of the few Halal Thai restaurants in Montreal. The outdoor ambience is good & service is quick & efficient.
We ordered Mango Salad & Papaya salad. Both were good but I prefer the Mango salad. For the main course we ordered Pad Thai & Tofu Fried Rice. I didn't like either one. The dishes were bland & lacked flavour.
Overall, if you are looking for Halal Thai, it's worth trying out.
I love my Issan papaya salad but it's a bit too salty, same as the Pad see ew. This brought me back to Thailand fr. I was surprised that they have ice cream with mango sticky rice too, it's sooooo GOOD! The owner is super friendly, let us tried the new dish.
I hate to see comments like'I've been to so many Thai restaurants it didn't taste like other Thai restaurants''the food is REPULSIVE' DO YOUR RESEARCH! Each part of Thailand has its own unique flavor, & they're not just sweet & sour!
Like EXCUSE me? You ordered papaya with stinky fish sauce & you're here complaining?!!!! Maybe ask before you order it?! I'm not even Thai but I feel the disrespect! That's really disrespectful to a restaurant which is trying to make authentic food ! Maybe you should just keep going to your whitewashed Thai restaurants! You don't belong to here. 100% uneducated ignorant & not well cultured!
C'est la deuxième fois que je mange dans ce restaurant & c'est tellement bon. Si vous aimez la cuisine thaï ce resto est un must. J'ai essayé la soupe tom yum, la salade de papaye, le pad see ew & le kao soi & tout était vraiment bon. On a été servi par Oussama qui était très agréable & courtois. Je le remercie pour ses recommandations & son excellent service !!

Absolutely stunning. We found this place totally by accident on our trip to Montreal, just happened to be hungry in that area & my wife is Thai so we spotted Thai food & just jumped for it, & it ended up being a huge highlight of our trip. Food was delicious & VERY reasonably priced, huge portion sizes, & visually gorgeous. My wife got the mango salad & the Deksen Tom Yum, & I got the special, the agneau panang, with the iced green tea. Absolutely gorgeous--the lamb was SPOON tender, absolutely falling off the bone, & the sauce was smooth & super flavorful. Her shrimp were perfectly cooked & everything tasted amazing. Service was quick & attentive, & we were genuinely shocked at how much food we got for so little money. We will 100% visit again next time we're in town. Great place. We tried 7 dishes & all 7 dishes were very tasty. Also I liked the Thai iced tea. & even the noodles were tasty, although I don't like them, but I decided to try it & it was very tasty. The waiter was very polite & helped to decide on the menu. It's just a pity that 4 dishes were brought out at once: salad, noodles, & hot appetizer, & dumplings. We had to eat all the hot food quickly. Next time I will definitely inform you that it is not necessary to take everything out. Also, for some reason the staff cleaned the empty tables, but not ours. This is a mistake, you should first remove dirty dishes from the guests, not where no one is already sitting. I worked as a restaurant manager for more than 10 years & I know what I'm talking about. But nevertheless thanks to the waiter, who speaks 5 languages, including ours, & thanks to the delicious food, our impression is positive. I recommend it !
I've eaten here 5 times. It's excellent. The khao soi, both chicken & beef, were amazing. The broth is spicy & flavourful, exactly how I want it. That flavour brings me back to Chiang Mai's khao soi joints, where the dish is often enjoyed for lunch on plastic tables & stools. I've also gotten the papaya salad, pad see ew, pad kee mao (drunken noodles), & pad kaprao. All fantastic. If you want some exceptional Thai food, especially northern Thai, look no further.

The standout dish for us was the Yum Talay Seafood Salad-fresh, tangy, & perfectly balanced in flavors. The Pad Sew was also well-executed, with tender noodles & a savory sauce. The Beef Laap Namtok was bursting with flavor, though it was a bit too spicy for our taste. The Mango Sticky Rice, unfortunately, fell short as it wasn't sweet enough to our liking. The Tom Yum Soup was decent but not particularly memorable. Overall, a great spot for genuine Thai flavors with a few minor tweaks needed.
I'm a big fan of Thai food & this spot was delicious & among the best I've had in Montreal. Really big portions for a reasonable price. I very much enjoyed the Mango salad & Drunken noodles. I also really appreciated that it was all halal & could take my Muslim friend. Will be back for more!

Every dish feels like a homemade masterpiece, crafted with love & fresh ingredients. Everything is certified Halal & there is no pork/alcohol. Plus, they're super accommodating, making you feel like part of the family. If you're craving authentic Thai vibes in Montreal, Dek Sen is where it's at!
I honestly wish we had taken the time to take photos of the food but it was so delicious we couldn't stop eating! The food is SO fresh, authentic & the place is so clean ! Had the tom kha soup, the beef curry with rice & another dish with glass noodles & mango salad. Everything was amazing & the portions are very fair for the price. definitely recommend & would come again!

What a phenomenal find.This place is family owned. Food is all home made, including any sauces they give you. Everything is halal on the menu & tasted absolutely amazing - mango salad was so refreshing!!!. The ambience is cozy & intimate. The service was probably the best I have ever had - the entire visit was a remarkable experience. Can't wait to go back & try more of their menu & hospitality
Everything was delicious, tasty & halal. We had the beef pad see ew, the papaya salad (our favorite) & the gyoza. The staff is also super sweet. Will come back for sure.
i recommend this place. the whole menu is halal! the pad thai was excellent, it had peanuts, huge shrimps & fresh veggies. we ordered papaya salad which it's spicy & tasty (sour, fishy). my friend had her first halal beef soup. we enjoyed ourselves very much. only bad comment is the temperature: is very very cold .. other than that, people are nice, quick & they never forget to smile at you
