I came to this Thai restaurant after seeing so many great reviews, & overall it was a very enjoyable dinner experience. We ordered the salt & pepper shrimp, beef fried rice, chicken khao soi, & Tom Yum soup.
The salt & pepper shrimp was definitely the highlight for me. The shell was crispy while the shrimp inside stayed juicy & tender, almost like tempura. The seasoning was really layered - spicy, slightly sweet, & with a subtle numbing flavor that made it especially addictive.
The beef sauce in the fried rice was excellent & very flavorful, though the beef itself was a little on the tougher side.
The chicken khao soi had a rich & fragrant curry broth, & I could even taste a hint of satay-like flavor in it, which I really liked. That said, I felt the egg noodles could have been a bit chewier. Also, besides the chicken leg & pickled vegetables, I think adding more toppings or side ingredients - like bean sprouts or fresh herbs - would make the dish even better by adding more texture, freshness, & variety.
The Tom Yum soup was a bit heavier & stronger in flavor than I expected, though I'm not sure if that's closer to the authentic Thai style.
The food is a 7.5/10. The big plus of this restaurant is that the meat is all halal. The service was lacking but the wait staff were nice on the rare occasion they came to your table. The Chicken Pad Thai wasn't as flavorful as I had hoped & the Chicken Khao Gai Pad was really rich & the chicken was cooked very well, however the rice was quite underwhelming. Lastly, portion sizes were excellent & the area is close to dessert places.
Je suis Thaïlandaise & la nourriture est super authentique! Le tom yum & le mango sticky rice etaient excellent 🥰
Being a fan of Thai food, having to find a halal spot was just perfect! We ordered beef pad Thai, Pla rad prik (I am not sure of the name, it was fried fish in chili sauce), chicken red curry, mango sticky rice & Thai milk tea. All the dishes were prais worthy. We enjoyed the fried fish & red curry most. I have had better pad Thai & milk tea though. But they were also good. The mango sticky rice was just delicious!
The service was nice, the atmosphere was calm. (I think mainly because it was a weekday). There was a promotion as well, for ordering a drink we got a free pad Thai for our child. It was very nice of them.
Some of the dishes on the menu were Thai name, it would be helpful if there were small descriptions of the dish.
I'm absolutely in love. Thai cuisine is my ultimate favourite & Deksen really hit the spot with some classic & new favorites. Will definitely be returning again & again for the service, the amazing food & the extremely friendly staff.
We ordered salt & pepper shrimp, tom yum soup, chicken gyoza, their new flower dumplings, red & green curries (both came with rice), grilled mackerel (very nice with a great green dip).
Cannot go wrong with this place if you're looking for halal thai food. Gyozas were great & mango sticky rice is a must.
However, the beef in my pad see ew was a little tough, which made the meal a little less enjoyable. Wish they had stronger A.C as well since it was hot inside.
Overrall, food & service were great.
Would come back any time for the mango sticky rice.
Solid Thai food in MTL.
I came here with my girlfriend for a fairly late weekend dinner.
We ordered the pad kra prow, pad see ew, & two thai iced teas for a total of $72 for 2 people including tax & tip.
It was a solid meal, simply put! The pad see ew was flavorful, & the pad kra prow was actually a fried rice which was an interesting variant of the dish I haven't seen before.
Overall, it might be a bit pricey if you're factoring in drinks, tax & tip, but it's good Thai food in MTL if you want to give it a try.
The food was good & we really enjoyed the drunken noodles! My friend loved the mango sticky rice dessert🙂

I ordered the mango sticky rice & was very disappointed with the quality of the mango. Several slices were visibly bruised & starting to spoil, with dark brown patches that were unappetizing & should not have been served. This reflects poor quality control & lack of care in preparing food for customers.I will not be ordering again unless I see clear improvement.
The food was good. However the service was extremely slow. The server got other people's order wrong multiple times & forgot one of our orders. Took 10 minutes to get our mango sticky rice, which we had to ask for twice. The service can be improved for sure.
This is one of the few Halal Thai restaurants in Montreal. The outdoor ambience is good & service is quick & efficient.
We ordered Mango Salad & Papaya salad. Both were good but I prefer the Mango salad. For the main course we ordered Pad Thai & Tofu Fried Rice. I didn't like either one. The dishes were bland & lacked flavour.
Overall, if you are looking for Halal Thai, it's worth trying out.
The service is spectacular, the food is literally a chefs kiss, so delicious so authentic! Also first time trying to mango sticky rice as a dessert, overall sooo great! I feel I could eat here almost everyday. We had the chicken pad Thai, red curry & green curry. & wow, will definitely be coming here again next time I'm in Montreal! I can't remember my waiters name, but he was tall, very nice & accommodating! Great experience overall
I came to this restaurant to try it out after a Thai friend recommended it. We ordered Yum Talay, soup Tom Kha with chicken & Pad Ka Prao with beef. Everything was so delicious & flavorful with attractive colors. We finished with Creme brulee pandan & sticky rice with mango which were absolutely top-notch. I just wish that the amount were bigger. I'm Asian, but even after eating all that food, I still didn't feel full.
Service guy was fast & friendly, I felt cared :)
We're fan now & will come back for sure.
I love my Issan papaya salad but it's a bit too salty, same as the Pad see ew. This brought me back to Thailand fr. I was surprised that they have ice cream with mango sticky rice too, it's sooooo GOOD! The owner is super friendly, let us tried the new dish.
I hate to see comments like'I've been to so many Thai restaurants it didn't taste like other Thai restaurants''the food is REPULSIVE' DO YOUR RESEARCH! Each part of Thailand has its own unique flavor, & they're not just sweet & sour!
Like EXCUSE me? You ordered papaya with stinky fish sauce & you're here complaining?!!!! Maybe ask before you order it?! I'm not even Thai but I feel the disrespect! That's really disrespectful to a restaurant which is trying to make authentic food ! Maybe you should just keep going to your whitewashed Thai restaurants! You don't belong to here. 100% uneducated ignorant & not well cultured!
Food was great! Service was friendly & warm but the food came out slow. But worth the wait! Had the chicken wings, pad kra pao shrimp fried rice & the khao soi! All was DELICIOUS. The fried rice had that smokey (wok hai) flavour but it could've been stirred more (rice had clumps), the khao soi was rich & had a deep beef & coconut flavour, Wings were big & crispy! Other than the slow food service, everything was great.
Wow! C'etait tellement bon. Moi qui viens de revenir de Thailande je retrouve enfin de la nourriture authentique thailandaise. Mango sticky rice mon dessert préféré. Super service egalement. Pad sew est delicieux
I highly recommend this restraint.
Best Thai food I've ever had.
I ordered A1 | Fried Imperial Rolls, S2 | Tom Yum Goong, F3 | Beef Fried Rice, F4 | Pad Thai, & N7 | Kao Soi Chicken. We loved them all, especially, Fried imperial rolls & beef fried rice are our favorites.
The standout dish for us was the Yum Talay Seafood Salad-fresh, tangy, & perfectly balanced in flavors. The Pad Sew was also well-executed, with tender noodles & a savory sauce. The Beef Laap Namtok was bursting with flavor, though it was a bit too spicy for our taste. The Mango Sticky Rice, unfortunately, fell short as it wasn't sweet enough to our liking. The Tom Yum Soup was decent but not particularly memorable. Overall, a great spot for genuine Thai flavors with a few minor tweaks needed.
Best Thai food I've had hands down. The food tasted as if my Thai grandmother made it for me. The fried rice, pad sew & pad Thai all very flavourful
