My partner & I had an amazing date night dinner here. The veg thali & egg plant Bartha were both excellent & we really enjoyed that the chef came out to explain the menu & ask us how our meal was going. Highly recommend!

first of all, the vibes, so aesthetic, so cozy, very charming & subtly refined. real candles, dimmed lights, & authentic silverware.
secondly, the price point, very reasonable considering that you end up sharing a variety of dishes with a friend or a group of people. thirdly & most importantly, the food (& drinks): beyond speechless… we started off with the mango lasi & chicken skewers which took us by surprise because the flavours were out of this world, then we ordered the shahi paneer + lamb masala (with coconut milk reduction$ with rice & naan: such an appropriate & daring level of spices where the flavours just simply melt in your tongue like a symphony. highly recommend. 100/10. such a hidden gem!

Had a great experience at Darbar last night. The staff was so friendly, attentive, & welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious. I also loved the space. Highly recommend & will be back for sure! :)
Our favorite Indian restaurant in Montreal hands down. Our Valentine's meal was wonderful. Food was delicious as always & the atmosphere is cozy & conversation with fellow diners was inspiring. Staff are warm & always go above & beyond. Highly recommended.
Delicious food! Chef makes everything from scratch, very attentive staff & very talented head chef. All their meats are halal which is also a huge plus. Highly recommend

I had one of the most delicious, flavorful Indian meals ever at darbar the other evening. I am so glad I discovered this special place. The vegetarian thali platter was exceptional, as was my appetizer of sizzling chicken on skewers served with mint sauce. Plus, wonderful chilled white wine on a hot Montreal evening. I will be back whenever I'm in town; so many dishes on the menu are mouthwatering! The staff is so incredibly friendly & gracious, as is the chef/owner Simar. I also love that darbar is off the beaten path. The real deal, authentic, family run. I highly recommend!

Darbar is by far my favorite restaurant in Montreal. The flavors are amazing & everything is just spicy & delicious. The service is on point, always friendly & attentive. I highly recommend it, you won't be disappointed. It's a family owned restaurant & I have fond memories of the father, Babu. I've been eating there for years. Believe me, you'll want to go back!

This was hands down the best Indian food I have had in Montreal. from flavor to presentation we were stunned. My personal favorites & recommendations would be to try the seekh kebab, bhindi, chole bhatura & the garlic naan. My absolute favorite was the bhindi, the ingredients are so fresh & so well cooked. I was completely floored I can't praise this place enough. Highly highly recommend !!
Darbar deserves all the stars! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm & inviting. The food was simply incredible-authentic Indian cuisine at its finest. The attention to detail in the flavors made each bite unforgettable. You must also try their one-of-a-kind drinks! The service was just as impressive-attentive, friendly, & efficient. Highly recommend! We stopped in on a Saturday night without a reservation & they were super accommodating even though it was busy. Maybe call ahead to give them a heads up if it's a weekend night, this place is in high demand! The food was insanely good-- very dynamic flavors, each dish distinct from another. It all felt healthy, fresh, & tasty. The service was lovely & the chef-owner greeted us & gave some background about the restaurant's roots. We came to visit Montreal & it was important to us to support locally owned businesses & Darbar is just that. This is a family restaurant, well worth the visit & the wait if it's busy. Definitely try Darbar.

We were delighted with the quality of the food. Everything from the daal soup to the chicken masala, customized aloo saag for me & my wife's lamb curry was delicious!! The mango lassi was amazing. We also had a tea that was out of this world. It was not on the menu, but recommended by our host, it is did not disappoint! We highly recommend Darbar & we will return!
