Delicious food! Chef makes everything from scratch, very attentive staff & very talented head chef. All their meats are halal which is also a huge plus. Highly recommend

By far one of the best hidden gems. The chef was so kind & made our experience one to remember. He was able to cater to our specific needs & wants. As new comers to Indian food, the chef & his colleague made sure we were comfortable & enjoyed every bite. I would recommend this place to anyone

If we could give this place more than five stars, we would. Definitely try the Mardasi Bakra, Aloo chat & honestly, you should try something from every course to really get the full experience.
The service was super fast & friendly, & very attentive to taking our orders. The chef was also very welcoming & clearly passionate about his food, while even taking the time to talk to us about his story & Montreal as we were visiting.
The restaurant itself is intimate & quiet, perfect for a relaxing dinner. You can really enjoy & appreciate the food while not being rushed.
We would recommend anyone to try!

Great service from Arindom!
Nice music, not too loud, so that you can actually have a conversation. Food is really good & portions are nice. Fun menu & lovely people ☺? Would definitely recommend!

Myself & my partner came here for dinner a little later in the night, & we had an amazing time. Our server was the best, he was friendly, & made sure to answer any questions we had about the menu. The food was delicious. I would recommend anyone to eat here. DAIRY FREE & GLUTEN FREE OPTIONS!

Food was unbelievable, one of the best indian food i've ever had. Its was full of flavors & the presentation was original. Also, the chef was very hospitable & nice to us.
I found the tables were inconvenient (too small) for the amount of food on the table, & the service was a bit laggy but I also understand that it's a very small location & we got in very late, 1 hour before their close.
Overall a great experience, would recommend to everyone!

Super bonne bouffe! On a pris un daal, il était super. Les drinks étaient très bon aussi. Le serveur était bon, belle pratique du français & conseil avisé! S'adaptant à nos contrainte alimentaire (vegan). Le patio est un peu croche sinon, maia le reste, je vous recommande!

I had one of the most delicious, flavorful Indian meals ever at darbar the other evening. I am so glad I discovered this special place. The vegetarian thali platter was exceptional, as was my appetizer of sizzling chicken on skewers served with mint sauce. Plus, wonderful chilled white wine on a hot Montreal evening. I will be back whenever I'm in town; so many dishes on the menu are mouthwatering! The staff is so incredibly friendly & gracious, as is the chef/owner Simar. I also love that darbar is off the beaten path. The real deal, authentic, family run. I highly recommend!

Le meilleur restaurant indien que j'aie jusque là goûté! Des plats très savoureux, jusqu'aux naans qui sont exquis! & un service très attentionné, y compris de la part du chef qui vient en salle vérifier que vous êtes satisfait puis vous saluer quand vous partez. Le tout dans un cadre agréable. Je recommande.

Wait Time & Service:
It took approximately 30 minutes to get a table, followed by another 15 minutes to place our order, & then 30 minutes for the food to arrive. The service felt disorganized, possibly due to being understaffed for an unexpectedly busy mid-week evening. Dishes did not arrive together but were served individually over time, requiring multiple reminders for pending items.
Food & Quality:
We ordered Dal Makhni, Baingan Bharta, & Shahi Paneer, along with Lacha Paratha & Tandoori Roti (not listed on the menu but available upon request).
• The Baingan Bharta was excellent - definitely the highlight of the meal.
• The Shahi Paneer was overly sweet - it tasted more like a dessert than a savory entrée, & we wouldn't recommend it.
• Portion sizes were noticeably smaller than those at other Indian restaurants in the area.
Ambience & Cleanliness:
We were initially seated outdoors but had to request a change due to flies falling into our water. Inside, we were unfortunately seated near the kitchen area, where we noticed utensils being hand-washed & general disorganization, raising hygiene concerns.
Final Impression:
The entire dinner lasted around 2.5 hours, which felt unnecessarily long for a simple meal. While we understand every restaurant can have an off day, the combination of slow service, portion sizes, & questionable cleanliness made for a less-than-pleasant experience.

Les plats sont vraiment savoureux. Le chef prend la peine de venir nous rencontrer après notre commande pour vérifier si il doit faire des modifications à nos plats selon nos goûts. Il reviens après pour avoir nos commentaires. C'est plus qu'un souper, c'est une expérience dirigée directement d'un chef Indien. Je recommande cet endroit à tout ceux qui n'ont jamais mangé de cuisine Indienne & aux gens qui veulent en connaître plus sur cette cuisine.

Une véritable explosion de saveurs du début à la fin ! Nous avons mangé au Darbar & chaque plat était un délice. Les épices parfaitement dosées, des portions généreuses, & un service chaleureux qui nous a mis tout de suite à l'aise. Une expérience culinaire authentique que je recommande sans hésitation. On reviendra, c'est certain !

Good authentic & amazing taste. We ordered shahi paneer which is definitely as recommended the best, dal makhani I would say was average, chicken was also good. What we really liked were the seekh kebabs they were different & nice. Although food options for vegetarian are limited & the ambience of the place is again something to not to expect too much from. But if you are looking for taste you can give it a try.
