Across reviews, Daldongnae Korean BBQ is praised for high quality meats, a generous unlimited array of side dishes, and an authentic, convivial grilling experience served by attentive staff. Diners note a wide range of meats and a standout banchan lineup with favorites like cheese corn and kimchi; the overall meals are described as flavorful, filling, and good value for the price. The atmosphere is repeatedly described as cozy or lively, though busy nights can feel crowded and some guests report feeling rushed or facing a few service hiccups, including policy quirks like cannot split the bill on weekends. Some dishes draw mixed opinions, with a few items underperforming in tenderness or freshness, yet the overall consensus remains strongly positive with many vowing to return and to recommend to others. In short, Daldongnae offers a memorable, well rounded KBBQ experience with generous sides, dependable service, and a focus on sharing and customization, even as price and pace can be considerations for some diners.
We came here as last resort since the other bbq shops were full but we're surprised at how good this place is. This is like the staple of kbbq in canada, everyone knows this place.
We ordered 2 types of meat (1 pork, 1 beef) & it came with so many other side dishes & soup. The layout of the grill is so unique, with very delicious egg stew & cheese & corn. The soybean paste stew was also amazing as it paired well with the meats. They gave us a bit of lettuce but I wish they gave us more. Sauces were provided too.
Honestly, the place was beautiful & cozy. I had a really interesting culinary experience & got to try dishes I'd never had before. I never expected to like a cucumber salad so much, I did my research & it's called Oi muchim (Well that sure was good!) The only downside was that it was a bit pricey, & by the end, I was still a little hungry, lol. My friend was full though, so I guess it really depends on the person… we ended up stopping at McDonald's after, just for me😅
Side note: I tried the beef tartare, & it wasn't really for me. I usually like tartare, but this one felt almost frozen - not sure if it's supposed to be that way.
Not as good as it used to be. The corn did not have enough cheese. The stew & glass noodle salad both super salty. The beef slices we ordered had some dark/black spots. Not fresh?
Service was ok.
We ordered the Pork Belly & the Beef Tenderloi for the meat & the beef bimbimbap to share. The bbq comes with egg, kimchi, garlic slices, & cheese corn. (Remember: you can only refill egg & cheese corn when you still have meat on the grill) For the pork, it comes with three thick slices, very delicious! However, beef tenderloin was ok… it was very chewy & it gets burnt pretty quickly. It didn't have much flavour too. It's not as tender as it describes on the online menue, & I don't really recommend the beef tenderloin. The bimbimbap was really good, the portion was perfect for two people. Highly recommended!
P.S. when we were eating, there was a line up. I understand that they've been waiting for a long time, but the servers kept asking whether we are done eating & whether they should take the plates, even when there were still bimbimbap in the bowl. It was quite disturbing because they already told us that we get a maximum of two hours dining time which we were aware. Overall we just felt rushed.
One of the best Korean BBQ in town. Located right downtown Montreal, which is accessible through metro Guy Concordia. The meat cuts are very fresh. There are different variety of beef cuts that you can order. The side dishes are unlimited & can be reordered. I love rolling the meat within the the lettuce leaves & dipp it in the sauce, their sauce tastes good too! You can also order chicken, pork or seafood, but mind you theif beef cuts are the best!
Good portions, fast service. Comes out to about the same as AYCE if you factor in kids & moderate appetite but much better meat. ordered Wagyu, Ribeye, bavette, beef fingers. English menu is not well translated for the cuts of meat so be careful order from French menu.

The beef intestines? Life-changing. Crispy outside, creamy inside (probably filled with liver), cooked to perfection. I legit got emotional - because I knew I could never recreate this at home.
The cast iron grill setup was brilliant: meat in the center, egg cooking on one side, cheesy corn melting on the other - every bite paired with warmth & richness.
But honestly? The other meats, like the beef we ordered, were kind of disappointing. After tasting those intestines, I didn't even care. From now on, I'm only coming back here for that. That's the real star. 🫠
Food is good, really enjoyed the beef & banchan. Some seats have broken lights & is very dark, would recommend them adding a lamp. Unlimited refills on the banchan.
My favorite BBQ spot - every time I think of grilled meat, this place comes to mind right away! The atmosphere is warm & cozy, & the space is well-equipped with ventilation. The food is delicious - the beef is usually tender, & the side dishes like Japanese pancakes & soups are also great.
There was one time I had a cut of beef that was a bit tough, but maybe I didn't grill it the right way. Other than that, everything else is excellent. Highly recommended!
The best korean bbq in town. The food is tasty, & the service is amazing. We tried a la carte with a refillable sides option. We chose beef short rib, chicken, & another beef item. What I really loved is they have a vegetarian platter too with good variety.
We enjoyed the cooking, chatting, & eating & stayed there for almost 2 hours. They don't take reservations, & we had to wait around 30 minutes. But there are other restaurants around where you can snack while waiting.
They are open until late at night. Would recommend not to drive as it's very hard to find parking. Being a K-food lover, would love to visit again. 🥰🤩🤤

This KBBQ has two locations downtown, both operating on the same concept. all-you-can-eat banchan, a soup to share, at least an order of meat per guest. The pork belly with skin was excellent & the beef tenderloin melted in the mouth. The staff frequently made their rounds to refill the banchan, & they
showcased various flavors of soju. The inconvenience is that our coats smell like BBQ for a few days.
Amazing experience at Daldongnae! The meat quality was top-notch, especially the marinated beef & pork belly-they were so flavorful & tender. The side dishes were fresh & constantly refilled, & the kimchi was some of the best I've had. The staff was attentive & helped with grilling when needed, which made it easy to relax & enjoy. The atmosphere felt authentic, with a cozy vibe that really added to the experience. Highly recommend for anyone craving good Korean BBQ in Montreal!
Came to this place for than 5 times since it's opened. I Love it 😋wait time during dinner hour was reasonable, only waited 15mins for the table. The meat quality is very good. Highly recommend pork jowl & boneless beef short ribs. All you can eat side dish is awesome, especially the corn cheese & the potato salad.
Very good Korean BBQ food. Look no further. Slightly on the expensive side but you get what you lay for. The beef meat cuts are 200gms without bone. No all you can eat option.

This is the most authentic Korean BBQ spot you'll find! The beef tartare, seafood pancake, kimchi jjigae, & grilled BBQ were all exceptional. Kevin provided fantastic service, making our experience even better. The boneless beef ribs are a must-try-so delicious we came back twice. Highly recommended for anyone craving genuine Korean cuisine!
Delicious! The boneless beef short rib was tender, juicy, simple but delicious. Beef tartare, seafood pancake, & ribeye were all really good. I'm not a big fan of kimchi but really enjoyed the kimchi jjigae & the BBQed kimchi banchan from the tray. Overall, a great meal that was so good, we ate here twice!
The most authentic Korean BBQ. The beef tartare, seafood pancake, kimchi jigae, & grilled BBQ were all spot on. Kevin did a fantastic job. Boneless beef ribs all day everyday!!! So good came back twice.
We went to Daldongnea on Bishop before a show at the Monastère. We were 5 so they gave us 2 tables, our friends at the other table ordered a vegan set & a beef. Our table of 3 ordered 3 different types of beef, & it came with the complimentary dishes as indicated on the menu. The side dishes were all good, but we particularly loved the glass noodles. The beef was not as tender as we were hoping in comparison to our experience in Seoul. The staff was nice & attentive as they checked in us regularly throughout dinner. The food was ok but with the Soju, the bill went us pretty quickly. We ordere a Soju melona cocktail & a pitche
Went for lunch on Monday, not too crowded, the beef is amazing, the sides as well & tried the chamisul soju... what a good moment! The music was pretty groovy & the decor is on point. You must try it, ar least once
