All the food is mouthwatering. Had 2 beef dishes & 1 eggplant dish. All delicious with unique flavours.
Best chinese (non dumpling, non-soup, non-americanized) food I had in Montreal.
We loved everything about this meal. Walked in & immediately seated for a week day lunch. We ordered pork belly, beef & broccoli, salt & pepper fish, & beef sautay. The food was so tasty, we will recommend to everyone. Feigang Fei (owner) was personable & made great food recommendations. Lovely overall experience.
Any time I am in Montreal, I order take out from here to my hotel. My most recent was on Monday where I ordered hot pepper with beef, salt & pepper fish fillet & seasonal vegetables in garlic sauce. Great dishes & generous portions. My daughter & boyfriend even had some & was more than enough for 3.
Awesome restaurant. Honest price. I would recommend the broccoli beef & general tao.
Me & 7 of my coworkers went for lunch. We shared the eggplant, kung pao chicken, cantonese noodles, spare ribs, cumin beef, twice cooked pork, & mapo tofu; they were all good!
Food, service, & atmosphere were 5 stars. Got the beef & broccoli + pork & shrimp fried rice, both were great, but the beef & broccoli exceeded all expectations. Prices were very good as well
Very good food in town, very reasonable price considering the downtown location. liked dry fried greenbeans, sweet & spicy eggplant, & broccoli with beef very much, not so much on the cumin beef & noodle salad though.
The food is amazing here! Very authentic, tasty Chinese food with great portions. I've been twice & both times have been consistent, no matter what you order. The beef & broccoli has a light savoury flavour, & is not greasy at all with lots of crunchy fresh broccoli. The stir fried pork intestines come with onions, spicy green pepper, onions & carrots, & has a great spicy seasonings with numby peppercorns. The intestines are cooked & cleaned very well, no stinky flavours at all. The braised pork belly is always tender & flavourful, & the sweet potato noodles soak up the sauce very nicely. Each bowl of rice is only $1.50! All in all, very tasty & generous portions at affordable prices. Each dish ranges from $10-20 (even the seafood). Highly recommended, great for sharing dishes & family friendly environment.
General Tao was good (not the best I have had but still quite good). The cumin beef was ok, but I wasn't blow away with a taste nor with their sour soup. The place was almost empty on Friday 8pm, which was a bit strange & didn't create a great vibe exactly.
I've eaten at Aunt Dai at least 25 times in the past 6 years or so. There are dishes I keep coming back to, like the excellent cumin beef, the spicy shrimps, the kung pao chicken & mapo tofu. In the past, everything was consistently delicious. But in the past two years or so, it has changed a bit. The grilled calamari, which used to be one of their best dishes, is now a total disappointment & has nothing to do with what it used to be. The last time we went, the mapo tofu was bland & uninteresting, while it was exceptional the time before that. My son chose the Singapour noodles, because he's used to eating them at home & he likes to eat what he knows. Frankly, they were barely edible; they were oversalted & bland & the noodles were way overcooked. We know that it's not an authentic Chinese dish & a little more on the bland side, but there still is the possibility to cook a nice version of it. So all in all, I used to be very confident in the dishes I ordered at Aunt Dai, but now, when I go, I'm always a bit worried that the dishes I order won't be as good as usual. Some effort should be put in making sure the different cooks deliver the same flavors.
Great spot to order sichuan food! Love the cumin beef & the green bean.
Just do yourself a favour & literally order everything lol Cumin beef OMG General tao WOW The eggplant is great We were a big group & the service was amazing & all the food was perfectly timed, good job to everyone & see you again for sure!
Really disappointed after reading such stellar reviews. Won ton soup was mid, weird taste I couldn't put my finger on, rolls were tiny, fried rice was bland, Singapour noodles were ok, not very curryish, & ginger beef was also bland. Overall, for a 95$ tab, nothing really stood out & would not eat again.
A cozy place with delicious food & a friendly waiter. The hot & sour soup was lacking a bit of the tangy/sour element but the cumin beef & eggplant with potato were amazing. I can't wait to go back & plan to try the mapo tofu.
Excellent food, the general Tao is the best I’ve tasted. Recommend the beef with hot peppers & the salt & pepper shrimp. Great selection & prices. Service is very good. A must try
Average food unfortunately. Got beef broccoli- it was more broccoli than beef. Taste was ok. Prob won’t go again.
