When I visited, I wanted to try their croissant they ran out 😭, but I tried a bagel with butter, cream cheese, & jam-& wow! It was incredible. Highly recommend!
The coffee was below average & chocolate pastry was good but fairly standard. It's also very overpriced.
I wasn't entirely satisfied with the seating arrangement. I understand it's a café & co-working space, but most seats were occupied by people working for hours, without needing to make any reservation. This left little room for those who simply wanted to enjoy a coffee or meal. I even noticed a gentleman uncomfortably sitting on a bench in the corner, holding his bowl of soup because there were no tables available to set it down.
I would give a 4 if the seating situation was better!
Generally, the quality of the coffee was exceptional. I highly recommend a cappuccino with a sandwich if you plan to work at the café for a long time, they have long-term seating, which is great. The ambiance of the bank was just really nice & it did not disappoint. I did find it to be a little bit more on the expensive side, but it is worth it.
Maybe it was the over expectation that people created around it, but this wasn't the most wow experience. I mean yeah it has high ceilings & other old timey architectural stuff, but if you really wanna see that, just walk down to the Bank of Montreal Museum just down the street. It was all that done & preserved much better. Then the food menu isn't really well crafted. Just as a normal cafe anywhere would have. Tastes the same too. Then the seating is the worst thing of all. They haven't really figured out if they are serving daily customers or tourists or all-day working professionals. They've tried to cater to all, but failed to please any.
I'm in love with this place!!! Great almond croissant & flat white. It is packed & may have to share seating with other people but I had a wonderful experience.
Honestly, just came here for the hype & the beautiful interior: High ceiling, warm lighting, lots of seating. I was surprised with that beyond their great coffee, the almond croissant & pan au chocolat were great too!
Inside a former bank makes for a unique setting to have good quality coffee. As a result there was a long line of mostly those looking to experience the space, so a lot taking pictures & passing through. A lot of seating, but was mostly filled, so probably not the most relaxing setting to sit & enjoy. If passing through worth it for the coffee quality.
Highly recommend to come for coffee & chill! Self service on seating, so you can choose wherever you wanna sit! Even the almond croissant was outstanding!
A busy local n tourist spot. Has WiFi. Can be very crowded n seating in demand but worth a look at the heritage architecture.
Not a lot of seating available unless you rent ($$) a room or seating area.
Its an old bank that is turned into a coffee shop. If your not familiar with the location, it can be tough to find & one would think that it would not be to crowded. With the crowd there is a long line to place your food &/or coffee order. When we were there, it was very crowded. The seating can be tough. They have reserve seating that is always reserved. The coffee is good.
Pretty & unique place. Ample seating & good options. Got an iced matcha, was well made. The staff is very friendly.
The interior is gorgeous. The iced tea I had was fine as far as iced tea goes. I had a salmon bagel, It was fine. The seating is crowded & the line is long. I can see this being popular for people trying to work, but for a tourist, its better to go someplace less busy with more artisan or specialty coffee, which there are plenty of options, some nearby.
I was in total awe when I entered this building. It's more of architectural beauty. The very warm ambiance & the subdued lighting of the space go perfectly together with the natural light entering from the huge round top arch windows. You'll find several quiet pods on the right & left side of the cads if that's what you're looking for. Several seatings are also available in the main area (couches, tables with chairs as well as 135º chairs which are the best position to be seated in according to this article) Besides the coffee, the place is known for its location in an old cathedral-style bank building with chandeliers & ornate dome ceilings. Food-wise - I can't say, it's great... We had a chicken mozzarella sandwich, latte, & coconut chocolate. Have a coffee/some snacks, sit around, admire the beauty, & move to the next point. The space is amazing & of course, they needed equally amazing food to go with it... Btw- The counter is the bank teller counter! Cool!
Located inside an old bank. Very cool spot for coffee. We made a pit stop here for coffee before exploring the city. Nice comfortable seating areas. You are paying a bit of a premium for their pastries to enjoy the view.
Just go... Honestly you will not be disappointed. This building is epic, stunning architecture, gorgeous design. Sympathetically turned into a boutique cafe. With stunning food & fabulous coffee. Great seating to suit all needs, low chairs, desks, sofas... Staff were super friendly & bilingual which helps London born tourists. Thank you for an epic morning, it's so appreciated.
Great for a one-time visit & to click pictures. Aesthetically pleasing, decent pricing, fast service & an ordinary menu. Not enough seating if the place gets too crowded. we tried the 3 cheese grilled cheese & chicken mozzarella sandwich. The food is average but it's a good place to chill.
A must go for any tourist visiting Montreal, very beautiful architecture & ambiance. However, it's just that. Drinks are a bit overpriced, there's always a long line, half the seating is reserved for paying members, etc. Staff is friendly & still a great place to stop by, but nothing extraordinary.
