Coupled with the cheese it's a must have in Old MTL. Loved the outside seating & old mkntreal atmosphere. Fairly expensive, I could eat that French onion soup daily, sooooo so good !!
Between a cafe & a restaurant the atmosphere is pleasant enough & the staff are super friendly & helpful. Food is pretty good. With savory & sweet crepes, cheese & chocolate & soup fondue, & lots of sweet treats they cover a verity of hungry appetites especially for groups of families & friends. I was going to say that you cannot go wrong with crepes but then I remembered some other places that did manage to ruin crepes but not this place. So praises for knowing what works on crepes! All the toppings & fillings we tried, sweet & savory, were enjoyed by me & my family!
Went on a Saturday morning without reservation, got the table quickly for 2. Got the La Parisienne Crepe. It is green apples & Brie cheese with maple. Very simple & refreshing.
They're a little understaffed given the 3 floors & quite long wait times, however, their crêpe combinations are very well executed (we had the cheese & ham with maple syrup & the goat cheese with almonds & honey). Both were super tasty. Their Breton style cider avec framboise liquor is simply devine.
Get the goat cheese, honey, & almond crepe. It is a dessert in a meal. Delicious.
The whole restaurant was full of flies, we had to keep eating fast or else they would become the food of flies. About the food, we ordered crepes with fruit, cheesecake crepes, shrimp crepes & smoked salmon crepes. I can say all items are overpriced, but it is understandable given its prime location. Anyway, there are a lot of quality crepes elsewhere. You can save some money 😅
BEST! CREPES! EVER! The Honey Almond Goat cheese was a the surprise underdog of amazement. All three ingredients are not bold flavors, but together they make a dance of texture & tastebuds tention of titillation. The apple & brie was ok. The apples didn't show up & sour smack me like I was expecting. It was still good but just that...it was good. Great service, fun outdoor sitting. Will come again & recommend to our crew!
Very cute restaurant in central Montreal with delicious crepes. My family tried four different types. They were all very good, but I think I got the prize with the asparagus stuffed version. The chicken was also delicious. My young grandson enjoyed his simple ham & cheese, too.
You might be thinking that ginger ale would not pair with the delicious crepes at Chez Suzette but you would be mistaken. Ginger ale goes with everything if you set your mind to it & this cheese crepe is no exception. Legitimately one of the best crepes I've had so far in my spin around the sun & I am happy to be a repeat customer at Chez Suzette
The onion soup was terrible. Absolutely no flavor in the broth & the cheese tasted like pizza cheese from the supermarket. Don't order it.
Crepes were quite nice. I like the variety of vegetarian crepes. I had "western vegetarian crepe" which was filled with scrambled eggs, mushrooms, red peppers & cheese. The garden salad was fresh & large but the dressing was too sweet for me. Service was excellent.
The Cesar salad was delicious, so much cheese! the chicken club sandwich & apple brie crepe were both really yummy.
The food was ok ! Decent - not bad / not great crepes . Shrimp crepe had a thick layer of cheese on top which I did not enjoy or expect . I have had better crepes in my home state nj/ ny & was maybe expecting more from Canada & hence this place so was disappointed. Else it's clean / good location & staff . We paid about $130 for 4 people ( mentioning just as a reference).
Friendly Service & excellent Crepes! Get the strawberry cheesecake one, you can't go wrong. I absolutely love it! I walked in here based on another Google review talking about how great these are, follow my lead & don't pass up eating crepes here!
I've eaten here a few times years ago under the old owner. It was OK. I've recently discovered there is a new owner with some new items on the menu, new eating areas, expanded kitchen... with a more exciting vibe. I recently went to revisit it & everything was amazing! I had the lobster bisque to start. This is the best lobster bisque I've ever had! It was creamy & piping hot. Then, I had their escargot au gratin with the garlic bread au gratin. I recommend getting both to dip into the butter & to make an escargot canapé with each bite. They are very generous with the cheese & it's toasted just right. For my main plate, I tried a new item on their menu, the crêpe with the smoked salmon! It arrived beautifully decorated with tomato slices, lemon slices, red onions & capers. It was also amazing. I didn't have room for their amazing dessert crêpes this time around, I will definitely be back much more often to try everything again.
Both the sweet & savoury crepes were really really good (western vegetarian & cheesecake options). We also got the cheese fondue but the assortment of bread to dip in it could've been better - one type that was served tasted particularly stale. We also felt a bit rushed to order by the waiter who checked on us every 30 seconds or so to see if we're ready to order - but otherwise it was pleasant
Chez Suzette is a known place & thus very touristic. Even though there weren't that many people inside (it has 3 floors), we felt the vibe. Unfortunately, there was also construction outside, so it didn't help. We ordered the traditional crepe with brie, honey, & almonds, & it was great, good taste & real gentle flavors. The ham & cheese crepe was simple & nice as well.
Chez Suzette, nestled in the heart of Montreal's Old Port, is a delightful culinary haven offering a delectable array of sweet & savory treats. Their menu boasts an enticing selection of creamy delights, from salty & sweet crèpes to indulgent cheese & chocolate fondues. The ambiance exudes warmth & charm, making it the perfect spot to cozy up with a bowl of rich onion soup on a chilly day. With its frnch style menu & inviting atmosphere, Chez Suzette is a must-visit destination for anyone craving a taste of culinary bliss in Montreal.
My husband & I came here for fondue. Delicious, as fondue usually is. We got the cheese, beef & shrimp. However, 2 employees got into some sort of argument right in the entrance way. My husband & I were seated close to the door & awkwardly watched the interaction & then the young lady hold back tears the rest of our dining experience. Extremely unprofessional to 1. Argue in a resturaunt entrance 2. Have a disagreement that leaves a fellow coworker crying during her shift for guests to see.
Service was quick, food was good but not the best. Considering they are a Crêperie you would think the crepes would be exceptional. They were nice, but more attention to detail with regards to presentation would be ideal. The Florentine had all the cheese in one end of the crepe...not evenly distributed & the strawberry crepe had pieces of strawberry leaves mixed in with the strawberries. The bruschetta was excellent.
