Infos & emplacement
C’est en 1861 que Thomas Wilson a établi sa quincaillerie au 400 Place Jacques-Cartier et depuis plus de 155 ans, l’édifice fait parti du coeur du Vieux-Montréal. En 1970, l’iconique restaurant Chez Queux s’y établit et y aura pignon sur rue pour plus de 40 ans.
Aujourd’hui c’est à notre tour de laisser notre marque sur cet édifice légendaire. Nous vous invitons à vous joindre à nous pour découvrir une restauration comme nous l’aimons, simple, fraîche et délicieuse. Après une longue journée à visiter le Vieux-Montréal ou lors d’une pause durant votre randonnée de vélo dans le Vieux-Port, arrêtez-vous au Comptoir 400, nous serons toujours heureux de vous voir et de vous accueillir.

Le burger de mon épouse était bon, mais je suis très décu de mon sandwich de viande fumée. Cela semblait etre de la viande provenant d'une enveloppe vendue à l'épicerie. Très peu de viande & servi sur pain ciabata & non de seigle. 25$ pour à peu près 3 tranches de viande, c'est cher.

Salade aux crevettes très généreuse en roquette au détriment malheureusement des autres ingrédients mentionnés dans le menu, pour le prix (29 dollars le kil de roquette) c'est décevant.Voir plus

Nous commandons un pichet de bière, il arrive sur la table sans nous être versé dans nos verres. Nous prenons une soupe à l'oignons, elle arrive pas gratiné, nous voyons le fromage râpé. Je lui demande de la faire gratiné elle revient presque identique. Je devrais dire que c'est un bol de fromage mozzarella avec du bouillon de poulet. Pas mauvais au goût mais vraiment dégueulasse comme texture. Mon marie prend une poutine canadienne à 24$ la viande ne semblait pas cuite & c'était vraiment une moyenne poutine qui ne valait pas le prix. Malheureusement je ne recommande pas & nous n'y retournerons pas.Voir plus

Other than the hostess being accommodating when we changed our minds about being outside that is where the positives end. I chose to only have water. After asking several times for water refill, never got it. I ordered the Smoked Meat as it is listed as coming from Schwartz's. The meat is not sliced, but is more bits & pieces. Then it was served on a ciabatta bread & not rye. To boot, the pickle that is advertised on the menu is a pickle slice in the sandwich. Not how it is meant to be done. There was also barely any meat in the sandwich. Beyond the sandwich, the service was poor. Our server walked by us at least a half dozen times & never checked in. They always walked by without asking how the meal was going or to see if we needed anything else. We asked for ketchup for our fries, was brought an empty bottle. The food was decent. The burgers were decent, but the pizza was subpar. Didn't taste the freshest, & the drinks were mostly watered down. After multiple servers coming to our table multiple times for the sides we had ordered when placing our meal order with our server, we had to wait to have everything we had requested. At the end of the meal, we were heckled to pay 15% tip & were told that the servers would have to pay if we didn't pay the required tip. The attitude & response from the server regarding it was really disappointing & felt disrespectful. We were willing to pay a tip, but being asked to pay more & telling us odd rationale didn't sit right with us. She said how it was mandatory to tip 15% in all of Canada- which, we've traveled all over the country, where is that the norm? The servers behaviour & attitude was dis heartening; especially, after a long wait time to get our order taken, waiting for our dinner & on top of that being heckled for tips.Voir plus

We were seated outside, very fast might I add. The service was good. They didn't come see us often, but when they did, they made sure we were good. Their mojito mocktail wasn't good. It was tasteless. I've tasted mocktail mojitos & some of them were very good. This one was not.Voir plus

I had lunch with my spouse, nice location & service. The food was fine, we had a cheeseburger & a Swiss cheese crepe with aperol limocello & a red Ireland beer, all tasted good & the price was a little high but acceptable for the tourism area.Voir plus

We stopped by Comptoir 400 for a casual dinner & enjoyed a delicious large pizza & fresh salad. The flavors were great, & the ingredients tasted high quality. The setting is cozy & modern-ideal for a quick, satisfying meal.
Service was friendly, but a bit rushed. We asked to have the salad first & the pizza after a short break, but both arrived at the same time. Also, the drink selection is fairly limited, which might be a downside for some.
Still, the food quality & overall vibe make this spot worth a visit. Just a bit more attention to pacing & service details would make it a five-star experience.Voir plus
