Service cool, ambiance décontractée, approche personnalisée, mais surtout une chef très inspirée, Lily Sirikittikul, dont le talent et la créativité la classent désormais parmi les grands de sa profession. Lily aurait-elle réinventé la cuisine thaïlandaise végétarienne ?
ChuChai est largement salué pour sa cuisine thaï végétalienne vibrante et inventive, avec de nombreux plats décrits comme savoureux et créatifs, en particulier le canard vegan et d'autres substituts qui imitent la texture de la viande, ainsi que des currys riches, des soupes parfumées et des raviolis savoureux; le service et l'ambiance sont souvent décrits comme accueillants et attentifs, et l'ensemble est perçu comme un bon rapport qualité-prix qui incite à revenir, bien que certaines critiques mentionnent parfois une salinité trop élevée, un service plus lent en période d'affluence et une certaine incohérence entre les plats.
Tasty vegan food & attentive, friendly service. We had a vegan'shrimp' dish with eggplant, as well as one with plant-based'beef'. We try to eat here every time we visit Montréal.
we tried several items (tom yum, tom kha, papaya salad, peanut butter dumplings, pad kee mao, ped palo & red curry). the majority of the dishes were ok but our favourite was the pad palo (vegan duck). i've never had a dish like it before but it was amazing!! the pad kee mao was very good too. the service was extremely slow despite the table being reserved only for 2 hours. there were only 2 or 3 waiters & the restaurant was fully packed so it's understandable. our waitress was very patient & kind. 4.5/5 would definitely come back!
Always really good ; my go to are the MK starter & a MK2 drink, always love the padthai or curry coco as a main. The owner is really nice & she accepter to switch the main for the padthai in the table d'hôte menu cause they didn't have what I wanted. A must go for vegans
The vegan duck is scarily reminiscent of the real thing. The texture is perfect, browned & chewy skin, tender & juicy inside. It isn't quite as fatty as real duck, but it is close. The bed of spinach it lays on was the most delicious spinach I have ever had. There is a little garnish of cabbage too. But order another side & maybe rice to fill out your meal. The cucumber salad was ok, tasty but not as flavorful as I was hoping. I also got sticky rice, which came in the tiniest takeout box I have ever seen, which was perfect for one person.
Super bel accueil, personne sympathique & passionné qui aime la bouffe du restaurant, on pouvait le sentir . Ça faisait 10 ans que je n'y étais pas allée... à retourner dans pas si long . J'ai tout adoré !

This vegan restaurant is unbelievable. The food is truly amazing & taste very very good. There isn't a single bad dish & the owner Anna is super nice & friendly. A definite repeat
