Everything is vegan - enjoyed the mango salad, fresh rolls & pad Thai. 'beef' was ok. You can choose your spice level. Full house, gets very loud & uncomfortable as you cannot even hear the person next to you. People were literally shouting. Very Bad acoustics & very dark inside the restaurant, hence the 1 star for ambiance. Felt like a cafeteria. Server described their service as faster than mcdonalds...lol wasn't too sure about anything after that comment.
Amazing vegan Thai food . Must visit in Montreal . I wish I lived here so I could visit often 😊
I am not vegan/vegetarian. Party of 6. Ordered a bunch of apps/mains for sharing. All of the food was EXCELLENT. Family owned. Very personable. Great service (timing, plating, etc). I'm from the States but will gladly come back to ChuChai when back in Montreal.
Waouh ! Végan +++ Quelle carte, quel choix, quelle présentation ! C'est trop bon & le service est très sympathique :-) (Seul petit bémol, salle un peu bruyante)
My favourite vegan restaurant in montreal. By far the best vegan Thai food you will ever have! Delicious peanut butter dumplings & 3 flavours (imitation) beef. Soy (Imitation) duck with spinach is also delicious! An absolute must try if you haven't been yet!
Je suis venue plusieurs fois manger à chaque fois le même plat : Ped Palo - Crispy vegan duck. Incroyablement délicieux ! L'imitation du canard est très réussie !
We got the Thai Princess drink, dumplings in peanut sauce (Kiao satay), the vegan chicken skewers (Gai Satay), the vegan beef in 3 flavor sauce (Neua Sam Rod), the eggplant & vegan shrimp (koung pad makere). I would recommend the Gai Satay & the Neua Sam Rod, it was really flavorful & the vegan beef had a nice crispy texture. I'm personally not a fan of the shrimp texture, which was probably made with konjac jelly. I've been here before & tried the crispy vegan duck & would highly recommend it as well. The ambience is really cozy & chic. The staff is really friendly & explained all the dishes we were curious about. I would visit again!
As a lacto ovo vegetarian, vegan restaurants are a special haven for me, given that I can order anything & everything, no holds barred. I had the spring rolls & pad Thai & I have to say this was just some of the best Thai food & vegan food that I've had. It was a good omen from the get-go. My mom & I didn't have reservations (albeit we did walk in after 8pm on Saturday eve) & we were seated right away. Staff were extremely friendly & attentive without being over-bearing. The spring rolls weren't fried & were wrapped in rice paper (this was a plus for me as I'm always trying for healthier options). Although the rolls were cold, they came with a warm peanut sauce. We ended the night with the vegan cheesecake & I can honestly say we were left feeling light, well-fed, & full of endorphins! Highly recommend!
Really high-quality vegan Thai fusion cuisine just up the street from Momo. The duck is freaky good. The service is always good but can often be understaffed & slow at the times we've visited. Atmosphere is clean & nice but very tight & loud during busy hours. Chuchai should join the Christian Ventura empire.
best vegan restaurant in montreal hands down. always good service & delicious food.
Amazing phad thai, crispy seaweed (waan krob) very good vegan options, child friendly
Impressive vegan restaurant! Such a wonderful staff!
Très bon restaurant végane de type Thaï. Le service est excellent & les employés sont très sympathique. Que dire de la nourriture...elle est juste exceptionnelle. Je recommande à 100%
Delicious food & great service! To start, we had the het waan krob (breaded crispy mushrooms, which were sooooo good), & the kari puff (which, admittedly, I would have liked with a sauce). For our main course, we had the royal pad thai & the kang daeng ped, which were both so rich & succulent! They nailed the vegan shrimp taste & texture. I couldn't really tell the difference between the tofu & vegan chicken, but it was still tasty. The staff were really friendly & quick, & the whole place was clean & classy.
Overall excellent dining experience for our first night in Montreal for the Jazz festival. My SO is a vegan & loved the duck which looked & tasted so good. The shrimp made from coconut was a surprise hit. The pad thai was made just right with a balanced taste. Will definitely return whenever we visit Montreal again.
Never thought that vegan thai food would be this amazing, a must try
Tasting menu was a little bit more expensive for what it was, but we still enjoyed everything. Vegan duck with green beans & vegan chicken with veggies, the tasting platter, chocolate cake, cheesecake, & tea. Our entrees were delicious. For two people, $110 total. In all, the servers were nice & the food is nice. Notes: The chocolate cake!! That stuff is so good.
Absolutely fantastic vegan restaurant. This place is a must of you're visiting the area.
