Authentic Japanese restaurant near the city center. Great atmosphere & the staff is very friendly. This restaurant deserves to be known.
We did try various dishes & were not disappointed. We had Edamame, Gyoza & Karaage as starters, then Oyakodon & chicken Teppanyaki as main. It was clearly sufficient for 2 people. The kitkat dessert looked also very yummy but did not have it in the end.Voir plus
Everything is good & beyond expectations. Recommend dish: chashudon. The meat was moist & tasted great. The atmosphere is cozy & peaceful, with Japanese decorations.Voir plus

Amazing japanese restaurant with no-frills authentically savoured food. Stays away from stereotypical pseudo japanese food, & it's fine !! I'll be back next time I miss Japan.Voir plus

A very quaint & authentic Japanese restaurant which is a hidden gem in Montreal. We have tried many Japanese restaurants in Singapore, Malaysia, US, UK, Canada & of course Japan & this restaurant is right up there with some of the best we ever tried. The owner is so warm & friendly & the decor is immaculate, bespoke & so we'll thought of. The food is amazing, fresh & portion sizes are very good. We really enjoyed our dinner & will surely return when we are next in Montreal.Voir plus
Lovely little Japanese restaurant with lots of plants, & studio ghibili memorabilia on the walls. It's quiet & very relaxing. The poke bowl was delicious, with a creamy slightly sauce that is perfection. The iced lychee green tea was sweet & refreshing. Highly recommend!Voir plus
Very cute & cozy Japanese spot on Parc ave. Their korokke & gyudon are great, & I'm definitely coming back for their wintermelon & lime ice tea!Voir plus
Hands down, the best Japanese restaurant in Montreal. If you're looking for real Japanese dishes, you have to try this place. Friendly owners & excellent serviceVoir plus
Chillax is a great addition to the student ghetto. Located on Park just below Milton, this restaurant has everything. Really fine Japanese food, friendly personal service & a great atmosphere. You don't notice this the place so much from the street but that contributes to its hidden charms. I've lived in the area for 43 years & I'm very happy to have such good cuisine in the area that isn't hard on my wallet. Highly recommend checking it out.Voir plus

Had an amazing experience for my mother's birthday at Restaurant Chillax! We found this lovely little place close to our hotel & it certainly did not disappoint. The portion sizes were perfect & it was some of the best Japanese food we've ever had. The service was also very friendly & efficient. Looking forward to coming back when we're back in town!Voir plus
This is my favourite restaurant in my neighbourhood. Consistency! It's always on point! Everytime I go there! Ok I was in Japan ONCE so I am not a Japanese food connoisseur BUT the Okonomiyaki & the Tokoyaki... Delicious, also the Karaage chicken & poke bowls (not in picture) & the cheese fried rice & Shrimp tempura Udon soup (In picture) Freshness & finest! The service is impeccable, the lady working there is so friendly I can't wait to go back. Thank you Chillax!Voir plus
Stumbled upon this special place & it didn’t disappoint. Cozy & clean little restaurant with character. Authentic Japanese cuisine, all three of us thought it was yummy! Staff were friendly & the chef peeked out a few times to say hello. Had to come back the next day for green tea & dessert.
Wish we could teleport it to our little town in New Hampshire :)Voir plus
The edamame & shrimp tempura were not good. They didn’t have at all the finesse of good Japanese cuisine, which is some of the best in the world. The best was the green tea cheese cake, as well as the ambiance of the place, which was really very pleasant & cozy. There was nice jazz in the background. Service was nice but very slow, the one server does what she can.Voir plus
