The owner (one man show) is the greatest example of the most genuine best hard working chef in Canada. The whole lunch was an experience I will not soon forget. Great conversations with the owner, other patrons in the restaurant & you almost forget how delicious the food is he prepares for you with the most care & quality one can offer. Thank you Chef, this was an incredible experience for me & my friend, keep up the great work, & don't ever retire;). You made our trip from Toronto to Montreal 1000% worth it.
L'Gourmand est un restaurant plein de charme tenu par son propriétaire charismatique, André. Authentique, sympathique & riche d'une grande expérience de vie, il vous met immédiatement à l'aise avec son accueil chaleureux. Gérant l'établissement en solo, son dévouement transparaît dans chaque détail. Le restaurant est impeccable, avec une cuisine bien équipée qui témoigne de son engagement envers la qualité.
J'ai commandé le trio L'Gros Gourmand, & c'était excellent. La viande du burger était incroyablement savoureuse, avec une légère note fumée grâce à un mélange parfait de boeuf & de viande fumée. La portion était copieuse, & les garnitures, très fraîches, apportaient une touche croquante & vibrante. Les frites cuites dans du suif de boeuf étaient une découverte-uniques & délicieuses, c'était ma première fois & j'ai adoré leur goût riche & distinct. L'Gourmand est un incontournable pour une cuisine généreuse & savoureuse avec une touche personnelle.

Running the place solo, André's dedication shines through in every detail. The restaurant is spotless, with a well-equipped kitchen that reflects his commitment to quality.
I ordered the L'Gros Gourmand trio, & it was outstanding. The burger's meat was incredibly tasty, with a subtle smoky flavor from a perfect blend of beef & smoked meat. The portion was generous, & the garnishes were fresh & crisp, adding a vibrant touch. The fries, cooked in beef tallow, were a unique & delicious surprise-my first time trying them, & I loved their distinct, rich flavor. L'Gourmand is a must-visit for hearty, flavorful food served with a personal touch.
If you're in Montreal & want a burger that truly delivers, this spot by the water is the place to go. The burger was juicy from the first bite, with sauces, dressings, & toppings layered so well that every bite felt balanced & full of flavor. Nothing slid out or overpowered anything else, it all just came together in the best way possible.
The beef itself was smoky, tender, & cooked just right, while the bun held everything together without getting soggy. Pair that with the beef tallow fries, which were crispy, golden, & packed with a rich flavor you don't find often, & you've got a meal worth remembering.
The prices make it even better, giving you high-quality food at a cost that feels totally fair. On top of that, the service was warm, quick, & genuinely welcoming.
Between the juicy burgers, perfectly layered toppings, & those unforgettable fries, all set against a waterside backdrop, this place is an easy favorite to come back to.
Quaint but nice spot to have a quick bite; in a relax space. Decor is pleasant, & you get a good feel of heritage. Food is excellent, traditional poutine is packed & filling - suggest asking onions be added;)- Crispy l'gros gourmand are absolutely delicious!! Amazing flavours & you walk out 💯 satisfied, & ready for a walk along the water to help digest. Quality & quantity are perfectly balanced! Wallet will thank you just as much as your belly; insane! Come in & enjoy it!
Amazing home made everything & you can taste it! In house gravy, best quality cheese from Quebec, & they use beef fat instead of oil in the fryer.
I tried ths homemade tasty quality smoke meat with a good generous portion of fries. Can't wait to try the rest of the menu. Everything looks good! The owner is very welcoming!
Quality food, great service. The poutine au porc effiloché was really good. The sauce that brings it all together was amazing.
