I went out of my way to try this spot because many people were praising the Poutine.
The owner was super nice & friendly, he definitely loves what he does.
The Food:
The fries were very undercooked, gorged in oil & bland tasting.
The cheese curds melted, far from'squish-squish' if that's what your standard is. Take-out or delivery would be much worst.
The sauce was good, definitely not your run of the mill poutine sauce. Closer in taste to gravy for a roast.
Price: I found it very expensive. For two small poutines & two sodas it came to $49 including tip. The price wouldn't have shocked me if the servings would not have been so tiny.

If you're in Montreal & want a burger that truly delivers, this spot by the water is the place to go. The burger was juicy from the first bite, with sauces, dressings, & toppings layered so well that every bite felt balanced & full of flavor. Nothing slid out or overpowered anything else, it all just came together in the best way possible.
The beef itself was smoky, tender, & cooked just right, while the bun held everything together without getting soggy. Pair that with the beef tallow fries, which were crispy, golden, & packed with a rich flavor you don't find often, & you've got a meal worth remembering.
The prices make it even better, giving you high-quality food at a cost that feels totally fair. On top of that, the service was warm, quick, & genuinely welcoming.
Between the juicy burgers, perfectly layered toppings, & those unforgettable fries, all set against a waterside backdrop, this place is an easy favorite to come back to.
Super bonne poutine au poulet! Service incroyable, tout est fait maison & le boss André est super le fun! On s'est fait gâter & on vous recommande d'utiliser la sauce à côte levée dans la poutine ! On y retourne bientôt 🥰
Ce restaurant n'est pas assez hypé. J'en avais entendu parlé mais sans trop de buzz. J'ai décidé de tenter ma chance & je n'ai pas été déçu. Je dois d'abord mentionner que le proprio est l'exemple parfait d'un bon service client. Moi & ma mère avons tellement bien été accueilli. On se sentait à la maison. Si ça comptait dans la note ce serait un 12/10.
Maintenant allons-y avec la poutine!
Sauce: Le goût est difficile à décrire car je n'ai pas reconnu les épices. Je la décrirais donc comme à mi-chemin entre une sauce traditionnelle à poutine & une sauce brune. Elle n'était pas trop salée ce qui permettait de bien savourer les frites & le fromage. Elle était bien épaisse comme je l'aime. J'en ai d'ailleurs redemandé.
Frite: WOWOOWOW. Les meilleures frites que j'ai mangé de ma vie. Ce sont des patates rouges cuitent dans la graisse de boeuf. On est loin d'une vieille frite blanche huileuse. Honnêtement le goût est tellement présent & tellement bon que pour une rare fois j'aurais pris encore plus de frites. D'ailleurs j'ai dû finir l'à côté de frites de ma mère, de la drogue, incapble de m'arrêter malgré que j'allais exploser.
Fromage: Très frais, très goûteux. Un peu fondant aux endroits plus chauds. Cependant, je crois qu'il en manquait un peu en comparaison aux autres poutines de ce calibre. C'est d'ailleurs la seule raison pourquoi je ne donne pas 10 (& Dieu sait que je suis sévère).
Cohésion: Mélange parfait d'ingrédients de haute qualité. Les frites sont tellement bonnes dans la sauce onctueuse…
Extra (ne compte pas dans la note): Le burger le gros gourmand était incroyable. Smoked meat pas trop gras, une bonne boulette bien épaisse. All dress avec du bon fromage. Vraiment classique comme goût. On se trompe pas. Clairement cet endroit vaut le détour. On parle d'un classement dans les top poutines du sud ouest de MTL. À la hauteur des Normand & Paul Patate de ce monde, allez-y!
Nous sommes allés essayé la nouveauté, le poulet BBQ & les côtes levées. que dire à part WOW! j'ai pris la poitrine de poulet, bien juteuses & belle portion! frites excellentes comme d'habitude. la côte levée wow la sauce avec une touche de prunes dans la sauce est juste super bonne. tout était decilieux. la cuisine est super propre. un frigo avec mets pour emporter à la maison. super le fun. merci André un service extra comme toujours. je recommande cet endroit à 150%
Following the favorable feedback received on Facebook & Google reviews, I visited this establishment. The reputation is well-founded. I was served by a courteous server, & when it was time to settle the bill, the proprietor, André, personally assisted me. We discovered shared interests, resulting in an engaging conversation. Regarding the cuisine, I ordered onion rings & a hamburger. Despite a brief walk to the nearby waterfront, the onion rings remained crispy, though slightly oily, so I was unable to finish them all. However, I preserved them for later enjoyment, & they retained their deliciousness. The hamburger was delectable. André offered me some of his signature hot sauce, which complemented the burger perfectly with its ideal spiciness. Although the patty appeared dry, it was, in fact, succulent & flavorful. As the adage goes, appearances can be deceiving. I intend to return to this establishment in the future.

Je suis tombée chez l'gourmand par pur hasard, je me promenais en char en essayant de trouver des places où manger, pis je suis tombé sur le resto sur google à cause des bons reviews. Je dois dire, c'était une des meilleures poutines que j'ai jamais mangé, les frites étaient croustillantes avec un intérieur tendre, le fromage fesait squik squik comme du vrai bon fromage en crotte, pis la sauce brune étaient tellement épaisse que je pouvais sentir mes artères se bloquer. Overall, c'est un restaurant très humble & dans un quartier de montréal loin du centre ville, c'est vraiment comme un joyau caché. Le propriétaire était très amical & avait une très bonne attitude, j'y retournerais avec joie!
OH MY GOD... that first bite of their poutine... I can't even describe how good it is! The texture & flavor of the sauce, the real "squeaky" cheese, the fries.. absolutely amazing! The owner, Andre, makes the whole experience that much better! You can tell he loves what he does & loves his customers! He even told us the secret as to why his fries are sooooooo goooood!! Which I definitely won't divulge here. Go there & find out yourselves! We also got a hot dog & a smoked meat sandwich which were delicious too but that poutine takes the cake!! Kids devoured the hot dog so it has to be good but kept asking for more poutine! SoOO worth the visit!!! Keep up the good work guys!!!
Petit endroit sympathique avec un propriétaire incroyablement gentil ! Venues d'une bonne heure de route, nous passions dans le coin pour un spectacle & nous ne manquerons pas de repasser Chez L'Gourmand si nous en avons l'occasion. Service chaleureux/sympathique & nourriture délicieuse. Le burger avec du smoked meet ainsi que les frites & la sauce à poutine nous ont bien plus. Merci beaucoup à Andrée pour ton hospitalité.
Le proprio & le staff sont tellement gentils! La nourriture est simplement délicieuse, la meilleure sauce à poutine que j’ai goutée (végane & sans gluten en plus)! Tout sur le menu est divin, vraiment un gros coup de coeur! À essayer ça c’est certain.
