A lively, cheerful spot tucked into a big downstairs space, where the energy is always buzzing. Dishes come out on large sharing plates, set on lazy Susans so everyone can dig in together - it feels social right away. The food strikes a nice balance: authentic flavors mixed with familiar crowd-pleasers, all done really well. It's the kind of place where you can keep it simple with a solid beer or wine, or go fun with a canned pina colada.
Great food! Lots of flavour & authentic. Lots of garlic & sauteed goodness, major downside is that they make you give them a 5 star review to get their deal on a free Coke. Attention to service is average at best. Quoting the server'give us five star review'. Some of the dishes had too much ginger if you're not into that but the fried shrimp was excellent 👌🏽
Cheerful & bustling spot in a giant downstairs room with big savory sharing plates placed on turntables atop round tables. Casually tasty & relaxed happy vibes. Mix of authentic flavors & dishes alongside crowd favorites. Solid beer or wine, or a pina colada in a can. Get a reservation!
Highly recommended! The flavor profile here is incredible. What impressed me most was the contrast of flavors; you can really taste the distinct notes in every bite. It's a perfect balance that makes the whole experience stand out. If you're looking for something authentic & packed with flavor, this is the place!
Best authentic Chinese food in town. I recommend getting the spicy eggplant with mince pork, or the dongbei style, it's to die for!!! The general Tao is THE best, & you get a LOT for what you're paying. Top quality!

The most authentic Sichuan food in town. It met all the promises & high ratings. Spicy chicken can be spicier. Fried batter is one of the best I tasted. Very satisfied!
This restaurant deserves a michelin star by its authenticity & foods that is bursting in flavors, I always & proudly recommend this to my friends if they are going to chinatown.
It's very good !! Very authentic Chinese food . It's fresher then elsewhere, & portion are very reasonable for the price . My go to is red meat, any red meat !
We discovered Chez Chili thanks to a recommendation from Jie Hau, the incredibly helpful doorman at Holiday Inn Montreal Centreville Downtown. We were headed to a different restaurant in Chinatown when Jie suggested this spot instead-& we're so glad he did!
Tucked away in a basement location, Chez Chili might be easy to miss, but it's absolutely worth finding. The menu is enormous, with a wide variety of dishes to suit every taste. The staff was friendly & helpful, answering our questions & making sure we had a great dining experience.
Every dish we ordered was flavorful, fresh, & well-prepared. The portions were generous, & the food came out quickly despite the busy atmosphere.
Whether you're staying nearby or just exploring Chinatown, Chez Chili is a fantastic spot for authentic Chinese cuisine. Big thanks again to Jie Hau at Holiday Inn Montreal Centreville Downtown for sending us there-it truly made our night in Montreal memorable!
