Review Summary

Chef on Call is widely regarded as a go-to destination for high-quality comfort food in Montreal, particularly for its delicious burgers, crispy fries, and exceptional milkshakes. Many patrons appreciate the generous portion sizes, fresh ingredients, and the consistency of the menu, making it a reliable spot for late-night cravings. While the food and in-store hospitality consistently receive high praise from visitors and locals alike, the delivery experience remains a significant point of contention. Frequent reports of long wait times, tracking difficulties, and inconsistent communication regarding orders have frustrated some customers, leading to a polarized experience between those dining in or picking up and those relying on the restaurant's internal delivery service.

Very quiet, very tasty, very rich. The wooden fork made this very hard to eat. Bring a fork if dining in.

We are from Ontario. I ordered a spicy chicken burger. I would say it is the best, & the spicy level is perfect.

Food is tasty & fresh, decently priced, generous portion on popcorn chicken. Menu, however, is the instagram reels of menus. Dancing nuggets, rotating pasta, moon walking chefs, chicken falling from the sky, a second chef who's dancing. It's too much. The music is that of a nightclub in which amateur DJs practice spinning disks. Its remixes of pop songs with a voice sample saying « put your hands up » every now & then played at an absurd volume, measured at 83 decibels

While I was recovering from a leg injury & unable to walk properly or take the stairs, I ordered delivery through Uber Eats. The restaurant handles their own deliveries, & I made sure to clearly state in my delivery notes that I needed the order brought to my door, as I was not able to come downstairs.

When the driver arrived he called me & said he would not be able to deliver the order to my door because there was no elevator . I live on the second floor of a small building with no elevator, & it's only about one short flight of stairs. Despite explaining my situation, he was rude & dismissive. He told me he didn't care & that I could call Uber if I had a problem. He kept saying'I can't I can't I cant..:' irritated & rude.

He then left the food in the lobby & left. Because of this, I wasn't able to get my food for over an hour until a neighbor came home & helped me. The food was cold & my milkshake was warm.

This was a horrible experience. I had clearly communicated that I was injured & unable to come downstairs, & the lack of care & basic consideration was extremely disappointing.

Edit: they lied on their reply. It was their guy from chef on call. See the picture below. I forgot his name i think it was fakim, or karim or some other arab name. He was a short, thin, mean guy who spoke no English at all.
