Had an incredible lunch at Cappello. The food was absolutely outstanding, & the entire dining experience was top tier.
We ordered from the Formula Pranzo menu, which starts you off with fantastic focaccia. For the antipasto, the short rib polpette was amazing. For the mains, the chicken parmigiana was cooked to perfection with a rich blend of marinara, pesto, & creamy parmesan, while the radiatori vodka piccante hit all the right notes with its rich sauce & fresh cheese toppings.
The bright, airy dining room features massive floor-to-ceiling windows offering sweeping, gorgeous views of the city. Everything from the service to the quality of the food was exceptional. Highly recommend checking this place out.
Parking @ PVM - Underground parking lacks signs to get you to CAPPELLO. You park @ 5 PVM & the restaurant is @ 1 PVM. Good luck getting there !!!!!! We were directed to the RBC bank, a long walk amid multiple corridors in a sea of other RESTOS. That route was closed by a metal gate (Open only within Banking hours) Had to find another way thru another maze of corridors. Tried to call CAPPELLO to warn them about being late........can only leave a message........no human contact. Finally found the other RBC access point....... My wife ordered a GIN/Tonic. The lip of the glass was chipped. Bartender should've checked that !!!!! Food was good - Veal @ $110 a plate. Service also good. Water was served room temperature - No Ice was offered. Music dates back from the early 2000, loud & not what you would expect for a place filled with panoramic views of Montreal (44th floor). On week-ends, the other attraction next door (ROSEORANGE ?) is a real zoo, filled with people lining up to 1 hr to get in. A waiter had to show me the route to the bathroom (Another maze)
I planned to celebrate my mom's birthday here & was very disappointed with the experience.
The biggest issue was communication. I called, emailed, & even left a note asking them to contact me if bringing a birthday cake wasn't allowed, but I never received any response. When we arrived, we were told outside cakes weren't accepted. I understand having this policy, but after all my attempts to reach them, I expected at least some understanding or a solution.
I asked if they could bring a complimentary dessert with a candle instead. They agreed, but the waitress brought it without a smile, lit the candle at our table, & walked away. The service throughout the evening felt cold & unwelcoming, & the manager didn't seem interested in helping either.
When I mentioned that I was disappointed with the service, nobody apologized. They just gave me my cake back & said goodbye.
The food was fine, & the view was beautiful, but the service completely ruined what should have been a special birthday celebration. I won't be coming back.
Capello was such a great experience. The food was amazing, the view is genuinely stunning, & the drinks were spot?on. On top of that, the service was warm & attentive, which pulled everything together into a really enjoyable visit.
Amazing view & the service was excellent throughout the night. The atmosphere alone makes it worth visiting. Unfortunately, the food was pretty underwhelming & didn't really live up to the price or the overall experience. Great spot for drinks & the view, but the food was just meh.
