I got the avocado toast & overnight oats & both tasted amazing. I am excited to try their viral pancakes & cheese toast next. Be prepared to stand in line for about 30-60 minutes but in my opinion it is worth the wait.
This is consistently one of my top favourite brunch spot in Montreal. I have been going to September Cafe for years & I have never been disappointed. Although all their dishes are great, I always go back to the breakfast sandwich with added avocado (deluxe is also good but very filling!) & their pancakes. They make a great match but their cardamom latte is still my go-to. Bone broth is a must if you're visiting on a colder day. Vibe is always great but expect there to be a lineup if you're planning to have brunch on-site during weekend days.
Been wanting to go here forever, & it did not disappoint!
Just an FYI before going, it is busy all days of the week at all times so it may be difficult finding seating!
I got the classic pancakes with an addition of strawberries with ham on the side & I loved it! It was extremely filling though, so it was difficult to finish all of it. My lemonade was super good but very sour!
My friend got the avocado toast which she really liked, but she said there was an odd combination of tastes when it came to the spicy spices & the sweetness of the avocado. She also did not know the egg would be cold. Her chai latte was very good!
Would recommend!
Good food but I wouldn't line up more than one time to eat at this place. Thankfully we just had to wait about 30 mins & not an hour or more like other reviews as I don't think it worth waiting all that time. The breakfast sandwich was very tasty, the tomato soup maybe too sweet but still delicious. One of the very few places where I found unsweetened matcha & it was very good. The smash burger & avocado toast are good but just a regular burger & toast that you can find elsewhere. The pancakes are very good, fluffy & good portion. We ordered them with the syrup on the side & they were great.
September Café absolutely lived up to the hype. We waited around 1 hour & 30 minutes, & I can honestly say it was worth it. The atmosphere is vibrant & the café has a beautiful, minimalist aesthetic that makes it a great spot for brunch.
We ordered the pancakes, breakfast sandwiches, & the avocado & smoked salmon toast, & every dish was fresh, flavorful, & beautifully presented. The pancakes were incredibly fluffy, the breakfast sandwiches were filling & perfectly balanced, & the avocado salmon toast was made with high-quality ingredients. We also tried the matcha, which was smooth, rich, & one of the best we've had.
Yes, the line can be long, but it's easy to understand why this place is so popular. If you're visiting Montréal & don't mind waiting for an exceptional brunch, September Café is definitely worth adding to your list.
There was a long line when my friends & I arrived so we immediately knew we chose a good spot to have brunch! We ordered iced chai, iced matcha, hot latte & cold brew for drinks & tomato soup & grilled cheese, chia yogurt bowl, pancakes & avocado toast & the food was 10/10, sooooo delicious!!! We enjoyed it all & understand the hype. The only complaint was the way the ordering of the food & finding the table process is set up, it's quite unorganized & all over the place.
we ordered breakfast sandwich & avocado toast & the pancakes, the food was divine! absolutely fantastic experience & well worth the price
If you want to beat the crowd at September Café, show up before 10 a.m. - otherwise, expect a long line. That seems to be the price of popularity for this sunny little spot on Notre-Dame West.
We visited on a weekend morning & ordered the tomato soup, crepes, avocado toast, a matcha drink, & an americano. Everything was clean, fresh, & well-prepared. The quality is clearly there - ingredients taste good & the flavors are solid.
The vibe is nice & casual: small space, friendly (sympa) staff, & a communal/social table setup that makes it easy to chat with others if you're in the mood.
My only real complaints are portion-related. The drinks (especially the matcha & americano) felt a bit small for the price, & the food portions were on the smaller side too. You definitely pay a premium for the quality & the experience, but I wish there was a little more on the plate (or in the cup) for what you're spending.
Overall, it's a lovely spot with good food & a great atmosphere. Just go early if you don't want to wait, & manage your expectations on portion size. Worth a visit, especially if you're in the neighborhood!
Everything is perfect there! Best pancakes & avocado toast...you can also buy bone broth with ginger & garlic 👍👍👍👍wonderful for winte
