I got a seat outside & the garden was really pretty & the sun was out too. The sandwiches were also bigger than I thought. I also ordered the chai santropol (iced) i like it, the spices just hit the back of your throat. All staffs were super attentive & everytime I threw a smile at them, they smiled back.
Love the atmosphere here. We sat in the back patio which is a cute little garden & has a little pond. Good service, really good fresh sandwiches with vegan options.
This place rocks! The sandwiches were massive & very flavourful. We started with soup which was also exceptional. They have a great vibe, an outdoor patio that almost gives the feeling of eating in the country rather than the city. The line to get in was about 10 minutes but the food & the atmosphere are very much worth it.
We came here on purpose, it was rainy weather, & I wanted hot soup. I chose the place because of the reviews, which were really nice. Cuisine: basically the whole idea is for vegans, so they take vegetables from their own garden - I thought so, but I didn't find a garden, but there are also meat products, not a lot, but there are some. We ordered two soups of the day, two sandwiches & tea. The soup was too sweet because of the sweet potatoes, but overall it was okay. The sandwiches, for me, are too simple, I'm not saying simple is bad, I'm saying too simple. Interior: cozy & homely, we didn't sit in the garden because it was raining, but initially it was planned to be something in Japanese style, judging by the fish & sakura outside, overall 4. Service: there is a problem here, I won't go into details, but it's worth it grow & grow, thank you, but the place is not mine, again, I'm an absolute meat eater. but thanks

One of my favourite Montreal landmark restaurants. Great place to go after the Tams. Near the park. Gorgeous patio with pond. The decor is eclectic with local art pieces. Vibrant & cozy. The food is amazing. The giant sandwiches with their fresh bread are my favourite. Great choices for vegetarians.
Don't get me wrong, I love Santropol. The backyard atmosphere is a real treat & the soups & sandwiches are decent, but the service needs some tweaking. I've been going to Santropol for around 30 years now, & each time the waiters seem to act like you should feel privileged to be there & lucky to be served by them. They rarely crack a smile. Nevertheless, Santropol is a great place to go for lunch. Bring your friends from out of town!

Cafe Santropol...use to live next door for years. My kind of place. Relaxed atmosphere & great vegetarian soups, chili, & sandwiches. A beautiful outdoor back garden to enjoy in the summer. ✨️ 💖 ✨️
Cold gazpacho restored our HP on an oppressively hot day. Great sandwiches too--they look huge but the bread is light & fluffy. Really filling, but fresh & light, & doesn't leave you feeling weighed down. The outside area's a great spot to chill.
Very nice little vegetarian, healthy, sandwich place. I got a mango chutney one with chicken salad (sorry i want my meat). It was very fresh & refreshing from all those heavy restaurants. It was a bit expensive in my opinion. My mom raved about this place for so long. The sandwiches are huge! None of us finished them. They were all very good. Too much cream cheese though. I wouldnt mind going back.
