I recently discovered Gentile Café in DDO & I honestly can't say enough good things about it. We first went for brunch two Sundays ago, & I was so impressed that I practically begged my husband to go back that same week for dinner on Friday night.
From the moment you walk in, the ambiance is warm, inviting, & beautifully thought out. There's such a great attention to detail-not just in the décor, but even in the little touches that made my kids feel so welcome & comfortable. It really made the whole experience feel special for the entire family.
The food is absolutely incredible. Everything we tried, both at brunch & dinner, was fresh, flavorful, & clearly made with care. You can tell there's real passion behind the menu.
But what truly elevates the experience is the service. The staff is attentive, friendly, & genuinely makes you feel taken care of without being overbearing.
Going back on Friday night was exactly what I needed to unwind after a long work week-it was everything I had hoped for & more.
Gentile Café has quickly become one of our favorite spots. Highly recommend!
Café Gentile West Island is consistently excellent. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between modern & welcoming - great for a casual coffee, a business meeting, or a relaxed lunch or dinner. The coffee is top-tier, rich & smooth, & you can tell they take pride in every cup.
The food is just as impressive. Fresh ingredients, generous portions, & a menu that offers something for everyone What truly sets this place apart, though, is the staff - welcoming, attentive, & so genuine that they make you feel right at home. Passed by with some friends on a Sunday evening around 7 pm & it was busy. Very nicely decorated & seating was very comfortable. Our waitress Marika was excellent. Friendly, attentive & efficient. We shared a margherita pizza to start which was delicious. My wife had the Veal al limone which she said was good. I wouldn't have been happy with that plate as the portion was 3 small & thin slices of veal for $40. I would have still been hungry. I had the Chicken parmigiana which was delicious but instead of serving it with a side of pasta, I got fries. Wasn't crazy about that substitution. My friends also had the veal as well as the cavatelli which was delicious. A nice meal in a nice environment with good service but a few small shortcomings. Highly suggest them to drop the fries with the chicken parmigiana & increase the portion on the veal. Recommended.
I finally made it to Café Gentile for brunch, & it was well worth the wait.
It was quite busy when I arrived, but I was seated at the bar, which worked perfectly since I was dining alone. Serena (I hope I'm spelling her name correctly) was working behind the bar & was absolutely lovely - warm, personable, & always smiling. I ordered the Avocado Crostini, a Gentile Spritz, & a latte. Everything was fresh & delicious, & the latte was excellent.
Since I hadn't yet tried their dinner menu, I made a reservation & returned with my husband. Once again, the restaurant was very busy, which says a lot. We were greeted warmly by the hostess & shown to our table promptly. The atmosphere is inviting & cozy, with great music that adds to the overall experience.
Our server, Bella, was attentive without being intrusive - the perfect balance. For appetizers, I had the Artichoke Crostini & my husband ordered the special (Argentine shrimp with quinoa). Both were beautifully presented & full of flavor. For mains, I chose the Grilled Branzino, which was perfectly cooked, & my husband had the Madison Square Garden pizza, which he thoroughly enjoyed.
We ended the evening with a brownie topped with marshmallow & vanilla gelato - a sweet & satisfying finish. Thank you to Serena for the thoughtful treat.
Between Serena & Bella, the service was outstanding on both visits. Café Gentile delivers not only excellent food but also a warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes you want to return.
Highly recommended for both brunch & dinner in the West Island.
I can not say enough good things about this place. We frequently visit the Westmount location & the new location did not disappoint. My husband's company, Keen & Able Logistics had their annual holiday dinner there & it was a huge success. We were a group of 30 & the service staff went above & beyond for the entire evening. They were attentive & professional. The food was delicious, every course better than the last. From bus boy to management, these guys know the restaurant business. I wish them the best for their new location & highly recommend.

Absolutely amazing experience! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt welcoming & warm. The staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, & made us feel genuinely cared for. The service was quick but never rushed, & every recommendation they made was spot on.
The food was beyond delicious - fresh ingredients, beautifully presented, & full of flavor. You can tell there's real passion & attention to detail behind every dish. The portions were generous, & everything tasted even better than expected.
I rarely leave reviews, but this place truly deserves it. I'll definitely be coming back - highly recommend! 👏✨
I stopped by this café/restaurant today & had a great experience. I ordered a coffee, & it turned out to be excellent-rich, smooth, & clearly made with care. The whole atmosphere had a warm, positive energy that made it easy to relax & enjoy the moment.
The service was equally impressive. The waiter greeted me with a friendly smile, was polite throughout, & checked in at just the right times. Everything was served in a timely manner without feeling rushed.
Overall, it was a great visit, & I'm already planning to return soon, especially to try their lunch menu. Highly recommended!

Heard so much about this cafe, NHL players coming in & other high status individuals. Not suprised why, the food here is great. 10/10 recommend everyone's goes.
Small portions. Stale food. Extremely unprofessional & rude staff. Rushed service. This place is tarnishing the reputation of Cafe Gentile. I don't recommend it & not going back
My friends & I had a very disappointing experience at Café Gentile West Island. From the moment we sat down, the staff made us feel rushed. They brought the bill before we even finished our meal, & after we paid, they asked us to leave even though we had only been there for about an hour & a half. We couldn't relax or enjoy our time.
The sandwiches were also nothing special-very simple & not worth the price.
When we tried to speak with the manager, she was rude. It felt like they cared more about making money than treating customers with respect. Overall, it was an unpleasant visit, & I definitely wouldn't recommend this café. For our next gathering, we are planning to go somewhere more pleasant.
Cafe Gentile in the West Island is absolutely fantastic. The food is incredible, fresh, flavorful, & clearly made with care. The overall dining experience is just as impressive, with warm service & a welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. I genuinely can't wait to go back. Highly recommend!
I visited this resturant / coffee shop & had one of the worst dining experiences I can remember in the past 45 years in Montreal.
From the start, we were rushed to order immediately. After barely taking my second bite, we were told to pay. Even while still drinking our coffee, the manager came over & said we had to leave because their lunch service was starting. Wr were there for brunch at 10 am.
The setup is confusing - the sign says coffee shop on the right, restaurant on the left, but they mix everything & clearly don't know how to manage it.
The female manager was extremely rude, telling us to'go.' When I complained to the male manager, his response was dismissive:'Go write bad reviews, we have 200 good ones.'
This attitude was shockingly unprofessional , arrogant & impolite. We were treated with no respect, rushed out, & made to feel unwelcome. I do not recommend this place at all. I recommend pigeon cafe at list they are so polite & nice .
