It seemed as though no one remembered to turn the AC on in the middle of a heatwave in June. It was genuinely shocking, & the heat can't possibly be good for the cats here. The drinks were subpar; iced latte was 90% watered down milk, & the lemonade was also not great. We did enjoy the chaud pain perdu, so that helped. The cats were very cute, but I think even they were distraught by the extreme heat.View more
Came to visit on a weekend for some refreshing lemonade drinks. The drinks were cooling but tasted okay.
The place is quite spacious, with a few interesting decor. I like how we have information about the cats to learn more about them. However, the space did feel a little unmaintained & dusty in some corners.
*cat toys are available
*it was very noisy. The staff let the children run around, scream, & chase the cats away. It was also very distracting to have such loud customers 🙄 the kids almost spilled my drink a few times too
*the washroom stank 😒 of unmaintained cat litter. You have to hold your breath when you open the door to the washroom until you are out of it.
Overall, not a perfect experience when I visited. You'll need lots of patience when visiting the place. I wouldn't recommend the place for people who seek to play with cats while relaxing with a drink or small snack. It is quite disappointing as the space has lots of missed potential.View more
Our visit to Chat L'heureux was a very nice experience. It was fun to see the cats roaming around the café. I didn't mind it but most cats were sleepy (we came at around noon).
The'cat gentlemen' grilled cheese was good. The'cat lady' grilled cheese, which is supposed to have fig jam & honey, didn't taste sweet at all. I wouldn't recommend the drinks as well (we had an iced coffee & a smoothie, both weren't good).
Overall, I would come back to hang around the nice cats & probably try one of their desserts. Customer service was good.View more
Drinks were amazing & thr cat company made my wife extremely happy! 5 stars!View more
The Happy Cat Café is such a lovely spot-super cozy & aesthetically pleasing, with a cute & peaceful atmosphere. They have a great variety of drinks & snacks, & I got to try their bestseller, the pistachio coffee (I think that's the name), & it was genuinely delicious. The décor is beautiful, everything looks really clean, & it's clear that the cats are well taken care of & happy. They have plenty of places to rest & play, & there's even a little gift shop with cat-themed items, which was a fun touch!
One thing I'd suggest is that staff could gently remind parents to help their kids respect the cats' space. I noticed a few moments where kids were chasing the cats around, & while it's great that families can enjoy the space, it would be even better if the environment stayed calm & safe for the animals.
Overall, it's a great café experience for both cat lovers & coffee lovers alike.

Cats at this location are quite scared of customers unfortunately. The ones at the other locations are more friendly! The drinks are really good & the staff are nice! Try out their other locations if you want the cats to play with you, this location didn't offer us cat toys but the other one did!View more
Other reviews are saying that it's overpriced, but that's not true at all unless you compare it to somewhere like Tim Horton's. The prices here are normal for a café. Especially one that needs funding to care for live animals.
As for the food & drink, personally I didn't find it to be the most flavorful. Except the salad dressing. That was delicious. But it's okay because I came here for the cats.
There were many cats. They were all chill & adorable, some napping & some interacting with customers. The best places to sit if you want a cat's attention is on one of the sofas.View more
A great spot! The cats were so cute & friendly. The food & drinks were good too.View more
Amazing place if you like cats & yummy paninis. Drinks were good as well! The cats were friendly, sociable, although docile during parts of our visit which is fine (we'd all take a nap right now if we could as well). Would totally come here again!View more
Amazing experience. People are writing bad reviews & ignoring the fact that unlike other cafes they are not charging entry fee to see cats & be with them.I am from Toronto & came here to visit the cute cafe as i love cats & i had an amazing experience. If you are visiting such cafe's don't expect you are going to get Tim Horton experience. Those are places that serve you pre made drinks & just warm up stuff. This is a local & busy cafe so service is expected to be slow.Obviously there is wait time & servers are trying their absolutely best. I went there & we had to wait 5-10 minutes to be seated as it was full & that's fine we understand. We got seated on sofa & there was a cute cat ( Laila) sleeping over there we petted her & she was just sleeping that was just so adorable. We also ordered latte & high five which was really good. Would definitely come back to this place when i visit Montreal next time. The service is slow so i would recommend people to be patient as the cafe was full & obviously the people who order first are supposed to be served first. I really had good time here & i saw four cats .View more
Had such a cute time at this cafe! Didnt get food but they had a wide array of drinks & we were able to just sit & watch the cats play, recommend!!View more
Cute cafe with good drinks & food, but let's be honest...the cute kitties are the stars of the show. They're all unique & adorable. Coffee & food really was good though, too.View more
We visited on a Saturday afternoon & waited less than 10 minutes to get in. At first I was skeptical of the experience because they had only 7 cats & like 40 customers in the cafe, so the cat per customer was quite low. However, once we got our drinks & settled in, the vibe was actually quite lovely & some of the cats made their rounds across the room quite frequently. The vegan chocolate cookie dessert was more like a cake & quickly devoured by my nonvegan companion because it was so good. Overall a lovely experience. Great service too although we could tell they were understaffed.View more
Love this place! Comfortable seating, happy cats, & good drinks. 100% recommend.View more
I have nothing but positive things to say about this café. The owners are so kind & you can tell that they love the cats. I love all the artwork as well & the food & drinks are amazing. I love that you can eat in the same area as the cats as cat cafés in Toronto are a lot more strict, & the vibe seem to be very calm & chilling easy to take a nap or do some work. All the cats were so well-behaved & well taken care of.View more
I don't quite know, what to think of this place There's a first entrance, so the cats can't run out, but that little room has a cat piss smell that takes you right away, Once inside, I thought it looked not well kept, there are lots of cats' ladders, shelves, bridges , scratching post & all, The cats seemed pretty chill (was after 6pm) But there's a lingering smell of not clean Not sure what is their process of cleaning every evening & during the day, But whatever it is, it doesn't seem enough I can understand the passion behind that place, but I don't understand how this place can fonction as a place that sells food & drinks in open containers It doesn't seem sanitary at all The cats go everywhere, chairs , tables, bridges above tables There is a door that separates the food preparation area from the cats , but there are so many cats, those hair, feces & all have to linger in the air I was accompanying someone, who picked the place, I just can't believe the health department lets that place serve food 🤷♀️ My final thoughts Smelly Murky DirtyView more
This is a cute cat cafe, with cats you can adopt & bring home. They have a cute coffee/tea menu, as well as some small bites. It does smell a bit inside, & the cat hair will fly into your drink/food. The cats are very playful!View more
My first time in a cat cafe. Cats were all sorts of personalities & got educated on how to best interact with cats as well given my limited experience. Drinks were good too! It's sit down styleView more
It's a nice & cozy cafe. Great place to go if you love cats. The cats there are friendly but you are reminded to be gentle with them. The only downside is the actual drinks. We had the ice tea & the iced latte & they were decent. Nothing to rave about but just acceptable drinks. It could have been better. Apart from that, the experience was great & I would love to go back if I visit the city again.View more
I loved visiting this cafe. The staff is very friendly. You get to pet the cats & enjoy delicious food & drinks. That also offer vegan options.View more
Cute cats & drinks - really yummy goat cheese sandwich. All of the proceeds go to cats in need!View more
So many cute & friendly cats!! The drinks were not great but I guess that's not the draw of the cafe ... XD. Super cozy, would recommend for cat lovers! 🐾View more
Cute place to study & yummy drinks. Only downside is the odour in the bathrooms... Cute cats that like having their own space but won't say no to treats.View more
The Happy Cat Café is delightful. The feline friends are socialized & friendly. The food & drinks are tasty (there are vegan options). The staff is great. There's even a cute boutique next door, where I purchased a whimsical cat themed T-shirt spoofing'Harry Potter'. I'd highly recommend you stop by the café during your next visit to Montréal. P.S. sorry for taking your shirt hanger - it slipped my mind.View more
If you love cats this place is one you MUST visit! The Happy Cat Cafe is a cat cafe where you can enjoy excellent hand crafted drinks & food while furry friends walk & lounge around. I am always so delighted to visit here play with the cats. I also love drinking their chai lattes as well. Honestly an amazing place to visit if you love cats sometimes their can be a line up but it is worth it to visit the furry friendsView more
I always find myself coming back here because of the cats! The food & drinks were lovely as well. Very filling & delicious.View more
the drinks are overpriced, service takes time to arrive & we are subtly rushed to leave our seats for others to come seat in although there are other seats available. The cats aren't very curious but are very cute. They will prefer the sofa over anyone.View more
