The food at this café was good. If you're not a cat person, you would question the smell. The cats are adorable, very friendly. I would replace a lot of their toys & beds just to give the place a little update & give the cats some new things to play with. I wish they had more cats though.View more

Our visit to Chat L'heureux was a very nice experience. It was fun to see the cats roaming around the café. I didn't mind it but most cats were sleepy (we came at around noon).
The'cat gentlemen' grilled cheese was good. The'cat lady' grilled cheese, which is supposed to have fig jam & honey, didn't taste sweet at all. I wouldn't recommend the drinks as well (we had an iced coffee & a smoothie, both weren't good).
Overall, I would come back to hang around the nice cats & probably try one of their desserts. Customer service was good.View more

Nous avons été déçus de notre expérience, surtout en ce qui a trait au service & à nos consommations. Nos cafés étaient peu savoureux & le temps requis pour les recevoir assez long - une bonne demi-heure. La crème fouettée de mon café a fondu & a dégouté le long de ma tasse. L'ambiance était peu chaleureuse à notre goût, mais son calme est parfait pour lire, étudier ou travailler. Nous sommes contents de l'avoir essayé, mais nous n'y retournerons pas.View more

The desserts & coffee were good, but the cats were not as prominent as in some cat cafes. There were 5 & 4 of them slept the whole time & 1 was not interested in getting pets.
It would be great if they had a room of adoptable cats rather than just 5 cats in a quite large restaurant. It was a very nice time despite the lack of cats :-)View more

The cats were adorable & interacted with people alot , food was amazing also! Definetly worth the price.
Note : Please do not bring your kids if they can't behave themselves , a mom had brought her 2 hellspawns & they were scaring the cats by running around the café & screechingView more

The Happy Cat Café is such a lovely spot-super cozy & aesthetically pleasing, with a cute & peaceful atmosphere. They have a great variety of drinks & snacks, & I got to try their bestseller, the pistachio coffee (I think that's the name), & it was genuinely delicious. The décor is beautiful, everything looks really clean, & it's clear that the cats are well taken care of & happy. They have plenty of places to rest & play, & there's even a little gift shop with cat-themed items, which was a fun touch!
One thing I'd suggest is that staff could gently remind parents to help their kids respect the cats' space. I noticed a few moments where kids were chasing the cats around, & while it's great that families can enjoy the space, it would be even better if the environment stayed calm & safe for the animals.
Overall, it's a great café experience for both cat lovers & coffee lovers alike.

C'est correct. Il y avait juste un peu trop de monde je pense. Les chats sont des animaux qui aiment leur tranquillité & la chaleur donc plus dans les vitrines, au soleil, parfois à trotter un peu plus vite pour échapper aux enfants qui aimeraient tant les flatter (on se met à la place du chat, ça doit juste être le 50e de la journée!). Il y en avait toujours au moins un ou 2 sur le comptoir d'entrée qui étaient très habitués & se laisser caresser sans problème.
Propre, les chats ont tout ce qu'il faut pour être heureux, j'ai pris un café gourmand qui était très bien même si je n'allais pas là pour l'expérience culinaire.View more

Endroit qui ressemblait un peu plus à un restaurant qu'à un café à son layout. Les chats sont adorables & amusant & la nourriture était bonne mais si légèrement cher.
Il nous manquait une fourchette mais la serveuse nous as amener une rapidement.
Juste un peu loin du métro aussi & le fait qu'il a deux café chat heureux peux créer des petites complications pour des rencontres.View more

J'aurais du rédiger cet avis le 2 ou 3 octobre 2014 mais ma tête étais occuper ailleurs dans mes pensées donc Le 2 octobre c'était mon anniversaire & ma copine pour me faire passer un très beaux moment m'avais invite au'MERVEILLEUX CAFÉ LE CHAT L'HEUREUX' car je suis'fou malade des chats' & surtout les chats noir'Mais faut dire que je venais d'être diagnostiquer deux cancer simultané sois l'oeusophage & colorectal alors mes pensées étaient
très mitiger très heureux d'être avec tous ces beaux chats avec un service fait expressément pour que ce soit une expérience relaxante & bénéfique (Ont court tous le temps !) donc a un moment je ne me sentais pas bien
Alors je me suis excuser & suis partie a le salle de bain alors j'entre dans la salle de bain j'étais seul quand tout a coup je m'appersois qu'un chat étais entrer en même temps que moi (C'ÉTAIS LE MAGNIFIQUE'SHELDON' IL ETAIT NOIR & BEAU A L'EXTREME) Il a commencer a se frôler sur mes jambes & ronronais très fort je me suis tellement bien sentis pendant dix minutes & tous a coup je me suis sentie bien il avais chasser mes pensées négative du au pathologies déclarer quelque jour avant mon anniversaire ça été magique ! ! ! Je suis retourner a ma table & SHELDON est sortie de la salle de bain en même temps que moi & est tout bonnement probablement pour trouver une autres âme en peine... J'raconter cette expérience aves André ma copine & j'ai acheter une photo de SHELDON & j'en parlais souvent après mes opérations & ça va faire dix ans en juillet & Dieu merci je suis encore la...

Initially came here due to a 4.5 star rating but please be wary of what I noticed from my experience from this cafe that I think is worth 2:
1. The cats are almost all asleep (this makes sense because cats sleep a lot so I'm not upset at that since they looked happy) or avoid you most of the time if you try to pet them. So the little cards regarding their personalities don't really match. It doesn't also help when they're rules regarding what you can & cannot do which might not be good for kids that anticipate playing/petting with the cats.
2. The bathrooms smell like ABSOLUTE FILTH. If you have children please don't let them touch anything in the washrooms & have them wash their hands WELL.
I have many friends who own cats & I have cat sit before & never experienced this so when I was hit by a wall of cat piss & shit smell I was baffled because there wasn't any visible urine/fecal matter other than one litter box that LOOKED empty (had the litter without any cat feces in it)
3. The overall place was well lit & decorated but again, some areas/corners reeked of cat piss which leads me to believe that there's lack of proper cleaning by the employees/owners. The odour & sanitation can be worked on considering this place serves full on dishes.
4. I ordered a pistachio iced latte which had ALOT of ice in it in a rather small cup & a hot chocolate which was kind of overpriced for its lack of quality & small size. When I saw the menu I noticed the food seemed just alright but not too worth getting.
5. The employees lack attentiveness. I had to get up from my seat to grab their attention at the front desk where two young ladies were sitting & chatting. I understand that it's fine to rest & chat but not to the point where I had to get up. They're definitely polite so I'm not upset at their attitude but I think if the washrooms reek or some areas of the cafe need attention, they should tend to their responsibilities.View more

Other reviews are saying that it's overpriced, but that's not true at all unless you compare it to somewhere like Tim Horton's. The prices here are normal for a café. Especially one that needs funding to care for live animals.
As for the food & drink, personally I didn't find it to be the most flavorful. Except the salad dressing. That was delicious. But it's okay because I came here for the cats.
There were many cats. They were all chill & adorable, some napping & some interacting with customers. The best places to sit if you want a cat's attention is on one of the sofas.View more

A notre arrivée nous devions enlever nos bottes. Nous avons trouvé qu'il faisait très froid dans le café, la porte de l'entrée s'ouvrait constamment, le plancher était très froid, nous avions les pieds congelées. Peut etre qu'il serait bien de prevoir des pantoufles pour les invitées ou tout simplement augmenter le chauffage. Les enfants courrait sans cesse après les chats, donc nous n'avons pas pu profiter pleinement de l'experience, car les chats se refugiaient en hauteur dû au cri & agitation des enfants. I had such a delightful time at Happy Cat Café! The atmosphere was cozy, & the highlight was undoubtedly the adorable cats roaming around. I tried their latte, which came with the cutest paw print art on the foam-a lovely touch! The café was clean, the staff were friendly, & the cats were playful yet calm, making it a perfect spot for cat lovers. It was such a relaxing experience, & I can't wait to visit again. Chat L'heureux - Succursale rue Ontario Le concept de Chat L'heureux est tout simplement génial, surtout pour les amoureux de chats & les familles avec enfants. C'est un plaisir de partager un moment de détente en compagnie de ces adorables félins dans un cadre apaisant. Cependant, il y a quelques points à améliorer. La température dans le café est assez froide, ce qui rend l'expérience un peu inconfortable, surtout en hiver. Comme il faut retirer ses bottes, des chaussons en plastique seraient une bonne idée pour plus de confort & d'hygiène. Côté nourriture, le café est bon & les prix sont raisonnables. Par contre, le pain perdu caramel-chocolat que nous avons pris était extrêmement gras, presque imbibé d'huile. Cela pourrait être ajusté pour rendre l'offre encore plus appétissante. Malgré ces petits bémols, je recommande ce café pour son ambiance unique & sa belle mission. Une visite à refaire, en espérant que ces détails seront pris en compte !View more

People are writing bad reviews & ignoring the fact that unlike other cafes they are not charging entry fee to see cats & be with them.I am from Toronto & came here to visit the cute cafe as i love cats & i had an amazing experience. If you are visiting such cafe's don't expect you are going to get Tim Horton experience. Those are places that serve you pre made drinks & just warm up stuff. This is a local & busy cafe so service is expected to be slow.Obviously there is wait time & servers are trying their absolutely best. I went there & we had to wait 5-10 minutes to be seated as it was full & that's fine we understand. We got seated on sofa & there was a cute cat ( Laila) sleeping over there we petted her & she was just sleeping that was just so adorable.We also ordered latte & high five which was really good. Would definitely come back to this place when i visit Montreal next time. The service is slow so i would recommend people to be patient as the cafe was full & obviously the people who order first are supposed to be served first.
