We had planned a very close friend's surprise bithday in a park, a month of planning, people driving into Montréal from Gatineau, Ottawa etc.. overcast & rain were gonna make it all very wet & crammed & it just wasnt the vibe. Being in the St-Henri area I decided to reach out to the pub & see if their gorgeous tea room solarium & plants room, whatever its called.. was that jewel available & could it accommodate 30 of us in such short notice. A private party was what we wanted & it was what we were served ❤️ Megan took us in with no hesitation & set up the space accordingly. Erin took care of our guests seamlessly with a beautiful smile. The food was great as usual. But really, this day was special & you girls made it perfect. I can't thank you enough! Burgundy Lion.. not just a pub ❤️ Thank you for making this moment unforgettable. We shall be back !

We had a reservation for a whisky tasting. Having previously done a gin tasting at their sister pub Bishop & Bagg, we had very high expectations. The whisky expert Toby was great, & it was clear he was passionate about his job. I like that there were multiple price points for the tasting, enough of a range to satisfy any whisky fan, from beginners to connoisseurs. Appetizers were tasty. Love that theu were able to accommodate members of our group who are vegan. I only ate the non-vegan appetizers, & standouts were the roast beef, with Yorkshire pudding & peppercorn gravy & the beef tartare. The pork slider was also very good, but would have been great if the bun had been toasted, & the beef slider which was a typical mini-burger. It was a crowded night, so service was a little slow, but food arrived hot & was tasty, & staff was super friendly. Will definitely go back again.
Notre groupe de 16 & moi avons eu un souper & une soirée exceptionnelle au Pub Burgundy Lion!! Vraiment, un endroit super, avec de la bonne bouffe anglaise, des bonnes bières & bons whiskys, une ambiance en soirée parfaite & un des meilleurs services que j'ai reçu depuis longtemps (merci, Simon!). Je recommande!
The local watering hole! Great pub, fun atmosphere & consistent pub food! You can't go wrong with their fish & chips! Chill wait staff that make any visit a good time!
Superbe pub pour les évènements sportifs. L'atmosphère est super & le décor est vraiment digne d'un Pub Anglais. Le pub offre beaucoup de spécialité anglaise à un prix raisonnable. J'ai grandement apprécié leur Shepherd's Pie qui était bien assaissonné en plus d'être farci d'une bonne viande d'agneau tendre & juteuse. De plus, leur Burgundy Lion Ale (bière maison) est parfaite pour accompagner un plat copieux & un match de foot. Je recommande également cet établissement pour les amateurs de whisky/whiskey/scotch comme moi. Leur carte de whisky est très complète & il y en a pour tous les goûts en plus d'offrir la possibilité de faire une dégustation personnalisée. La carte est bien divisé selon les régions & les pays afin d'être le plus sélectif possible sur son whisky. Un lieu idéal à ne pas manquer pour les matchs de foot.

It was an amazing pub in Montreal! A great atmosphere, with friendly & prompt service. I was with my fiancee & in-laws, & we had a great time. I ordered the duck pasta, which was nice. There was a large selection of beers on tap, & they were all very good. It's definitely a great spot!

Been here many times & have enjoyed their food, the British pub like atmosphere, the service & authentic food offerings. Fish & chips a must. Their chips/french fries are top notch. Their hamburger was top notch & worth the money as it was all quality. Their onion soup was surprisingly authentically delicious with plenty of cheese. Their Mac & cheese - let's just say it's worth the calories. Caesar salad. Plentiful & delicious with the right amount of dressing & real anchovies. This is something you wish to note that the anchovies are not mixed into the dressing but placed atop the salad. Order accordingly is you don't prefer this. It's not a cosy place so don't expect this it's a pub & it has a lot of energy, music, a large bar area & the noise level can be challenging to hear yourself speak or others for that matter especially if there are any events going on as was when we went. It was so loud we asked to be seated way in the back next to the washroom so we could hear each other speak lol. Anyway, I won't list all the foods as you can see it on their website but do know that the food quality is consistently good & portions are also good. They are not doing a money grab here they provide good value for the money & true food is yummy.
Boisterous atmosphere in a cosy environment. The pub was the neighborhood watering hole where I grew up. A good place where one could wander in solo or with some friends for some boozy drinks, conversation & of course some solid eats. Service is strong here & the food hits the mark. Just had a burger & fries on my visit with a BL house ale. Good times.

It used to be good, but it has changed. Food is mediocre. I had fish & chips, & It tasted like It just got out of a frozen box & mixed in a batter that was sitting there for a full day (not fresh). The chips(fries) were cold & oily-soggy. My partner has the steak pie, & there was more sauce & non meat, for the price we expected better. If you sit near the kitchen & washroom area, It has a sewage-moldy smell... Very odd. Or could that be the ventilation system? Not too pleasant. There's not much to say about the service. They were doing their jobs, that's all. Lack of smile, It almost felt that some didn't want to be there or just tired. The atmosphere of the pub is fun, that's the only good part of it. I do not think to return for a while.
Best British pub in the city! Great neighbourhood vibe, staff is the best! Love their Burgundy Ale & incredible selection of whiskey choices. Their yearly St George's Day Pub Bus tour is so much fun! The double decker bus drive us for fun & drinks at Bishop & Baggs for breakfast, Britt's & Chips for lunch, Wolf & Workman for cocktails then dinner at the Burgundy Liion. Fun, fun, fun with new & old friends, Knights, touring the city & slaying the dragon ending.
LE pub anglais de Montréal 👌 Par dessus tout le pub des supporters d'Arsenal 😍 Chaque gunner qui passe par MTL doit venir regarder un match ici, ambiance garantie ! Le service est impeccable, le personnel est très gentil & sympathique 🤝 Bref je recommande à tout amateur de football & de bières COYG!
